Saw the first pokemon episode in years.

Okay, the good:

-Pokemon battles look better than I remember (3D Bubblebeam).
-Team Rocket hasn't changed much, but they gave a huge overhaul of their very overused motto (A very welcome change).
-A new and interesting rival.

---

Now, the bad:

-Ash and Brock are still there (At least think of having the entire team change, instead of just a couple of characters).
-The new voice overs aren't as good as the old ones.
-The script seems kind of dumbed down from what I remember.

I've been seeing a lot of comments like this lately, and I'm really struggling to understand why so many people seem to be in favour of this, frankly out-of-place, CG stuff. Can someone please explain to me the appeal of weak looking, often slow moving 3D effects coupled with tradionally drawn characters and backgrounds, as I am well and truly stumped.

-Brock I agree with, but Ash? He's the main character. He and Pikachu are in it for the long run.
-*saw it coming*
-Of course, because it's a kid's show, and you remember it beeing a lot deeper and complex than it actually is.

WARNING! SARCASM ALERT!

Yes, thats a great idea. Lets cut Ash from a show that is based on him and his life. While we are at it lets cut Spidrman from his show and remove Harry Potter from the Harry Potter series, and why don't we make a show called 'The Simpsons' that doesn't feature them in any way.

Okay, you have to remember, the show is called "Pokemon". Not "Ash's Quest", or something similar. Since the title doesn't contain his name, I think the show can be successful with an all new trainer trying to learn the ropes. And there's been a few episodes that don't feature Ash at all.

Back here. >.<
I think Ash is okay to be there [of course he's the main character] and I think Brock had enough..

He was fine in Kanto and Johto (since he appeared in the games that they were based on), but after that...no. But then again, remember how we all hated Tracey

They wouldn't really be much point in replacing Ash, as the replacement will act EXACTLY like him, which would not justify replacing him in the first place.

Just look at YGO and YGO GX.
