Sawyer vs Paul(Battle of the tacticians)

N is Ninjask right? How is Ninjask in Paul's top 6 over Honchkrow and Magmortar? He only appeared in one battle, which he lost .-.

Well, Ninjask was dominating Gliscor forcing a recall from Ash, the same Gliscor which went on to defeat Paul's Drapion, one of his major powerhouses.

Even Infernape also needed a out-of-the-box move like Underground Flare Blitz in order to cripple Ninjask's speed and hit it, not to mention Ninjadk inflicted some damage on Infernape too.

Magmortar and Honchkrow are getting their butt kicked by Infernape very likely pretty much instantly and I honestly don't think they can dominate SL Gliscor like Ninjask did, given the same Gliscor beat Paul's Drapion afterwards.

Submission is pushing it but yeah sure Infernape took a bit of damage from it, actually Infernape was concentrating hard on keeping track of Ninjask's speed.

Well Salamance has the type advantage clearly but Ninjask is clearly is better Pokémon overall given how it fought against strong opponents like Gliscor and Infernape. Ninjask I think will just out speed Salamance with its Agility + Speed Boost.

Shinji's better as a tactician in the sense that his strategies are based on hands-on experience, whereas Shota's strategies stem from what he observes and reads, which isn't quite as reliable in the midst of battle. So Shinji'd win.

Only advantage Ninjask has over the rest of Paul's pokemon is speed,which was the only way it was going to be able to tag Gliscor/Infernape so much with Fury Cutter and Giga Drain.If it isn't using agility it will be a lot harder for Ninjask to land a lot of hits on it's opponent.

Magmortar/Honchkrow have better firepower and better tanking power,just remember it only took one mach punch from Infernape to knock it out,that outcome would not happen with Magmortar/Honchkrow based on their good track record throughout DP.Nidoking/Gliscor/Hariyama are more so in between while Weavile is at the very bottom of the totem pole.

Sawyer might have an edge over Paul since he formulates his strategies in advance while Paul is more of a heat of the moment kind of trainer.

Sawyer mind you is currently still being mentored and trained by Hoenn Champion Steven Stone, and considering how quickly he made rapid progression from being noob/novice trainer to being one of the top non-E4/Champion trainers in Kalos, being the Kalos League semifinalist and even earning a lot of praise from Champion Diantha, I can only imagine how much better a trainer he'll become in the future under the mentorship of Steven.

His dedication and sheer hardworking nature, plus his willingness to learn more and rectify his mistakes by noting down every new aspect that he learnt from his experiences in his notebook, is the reason he made such a vast improvement in such a short amount of time. I can potentially even see him become quite more stronger than even how KL Ash was whom he lost to under Steven's guidance.

That being said, it's also assumable that Paul had improved a lot in the future and will too, like how he made constant and big strides in becoming a stronger trainer in DP throughout the course of the series. His strong ambition to defeat Brandon one say is another motivation cum reason for him to constantly keep improving.

Potentially it's assumable that one day both these highly skilled and tactical trainers will one day even become a huge challenge for even the E4.

With his strongest ace team assembled from all regions, Pikachu, Charizard, Snorlax, Sceptile, Infernape and Greninja, Ash has already more than just has.

Well it depends upon how Ash utilizes and aptly commands his team while facing an E4 member. Ash obviously has to be at the top of his game and can't afford to make any silly mistakes as E4 calibre trainers just basically need one opening like that to turn the entire match around.

Sawyer.

Smart enough to do research beforehand, capable of adapting on the fly, owns an Aegislash (this Pokémon alone does wonders for any strategist), has the power of friendship on his side, and is capable of Mega Evolution (considering Paul considers bonds mostly useless, he shouldn't be able to achieve it, even though he owns an Aggron).
