Um they're all based off of real parts of japan.....
kanto and johto== kanto of japan
hoenn== hokaido if i remember correctly
shinou== northernmost island of japan

does that give ya an idea how big it is?

totally agree! all pokemon regions are based on parts of japan itself

I figure that if Hoenn is a country, then Lilycove brings the tourists (Financial), Rustboro reaserches the items (Industrial), Slateport ships the items (Commerce), and Mossdeep is the capitol. That's all IMO.

really? poor you, the house prices there are really really high, so get some money before you go there...

and in order from smallest to biggest, jotho is really small, kanto is average sized ish if you add the sveii islands, Hoenn is the second biggest and shinou is the biggest, about twice the size of Kanto...i think...

nah-uh, think about it. you can walk around the whole place (on the game) in pretty much no time. if we were taking an ACTUAL scale, id say the place isnt too big. maybe the size of a county or state. or very small island. never a country :/

probably a country (large) because ash takes about 1 year to progress to the league right? and the game is compressed so it takes about 10 hours to walk everything so it'd be a country I reckon. I also reckon that if it was to have a capital, Mauville would be it as its central to everywhere pretty much

I hate it when people say the mauville is the capital!!!!!!! it isn't the capital just because it is in the center of hoenn, Indiana is called the crossroads of America and that doesn't make Indianapolis the U.S. capital!!!!!!! The capital is most likely Rustboro or Lilycove.
