I miss you Maddie <3
So I read the DS lite FAQ (which is awesome, by the way) and I couldn't help noticing that there isn't anything in it about conditioning. And I hesitate to asking this in that thread because it might not be a frequently asked question but the paranoid inquiries of a person who is overprotective of their technology-things... OK, enough rambling.
My friend told me that when you get your DS, (or SP or whatever) you have to let the battery go down all the way and then charge it up all the way three or four times (A.K.A conditioning) before you can charge it willy-nilly. He Also added that if you don't let the battery go down all the way and then don't charge it all the way it could damage the battery and limit the DS life. Is this true?
Thanks.

I never did that once and my DS still works fine to this day. (I got it back in 2004 so yeah)

i highly doubt thats true, when i got mine, all i did was charge it till it was done, period, and i've had it for about a month and a half so far and it still lives up to its battery expectancy

I don't think it's true either. I always let mine go down to red or close to red before charging, but I rarely let it die out completely before recharging. Both ym DS and SP work fine.

Well actualy its true. Although its not really that much of a problem, it barly damages anything. And also once you have sucsesfully charged a DS Lite, not sure about the DS, 500 times the batary drops to 70% of what it was when you first bought youtr DSL.

Thank you Come again
When you first get a DS/SP/DS lite it is always reccomended that you recharge before you start using the thing. Nintendo say it in the manual. And my Uncle said thats true as well.
Its a tough wait....but you wont get the most out of your battery otherwise.
That goes with any product similar to the DSs Battery. (ie Cameras, Phones, etc)
Hope I could help.

Hmm, I never read anything like that on the manual.

When I got my DS Lite, I just turned it on as soon as I took it out of the box. The life stayed green for a good 10 minutes, then I plugged the adaptor in after it went orange, and kept playing. No problems yet. And I leave it on the adaptor 24/7, since I rarely take it out in public.

Here's what you do.

Smack your friend upside the head.

If he opens his mouth, cover your ears.

Kids, STOP LISTENING TO YOUR FRIENDS. They never know what they're talking about and only make things up they assume from reading small gists from the internet or say things just to make themselves look smart. If it's not in your manual, then it's NOT TRUE.
