When you mix records with someone that has a master ball attached to his pokemon can you steal his master ball when you battle him in his base?

Impossible. The items get returned to its proper owner just like in Battle Frontier. If possible, that'd be considered a glitch.

damn... That would be a nice glitch to take advantage of. Not cheating either.

Does that mean all items get returned to the owner after Secret Base battles, or just rare items? And if you could do this, you could multiply Master Balls until you have 99. Now that would be cool.

I tried this before.

IT DOESNT WORK!! MY LINOONE STOLE THE MASTER BALL FROM GARDEVOIR AND THE GAME SAID LINOONE STOLE THE MASTER BALL BUT WHEN I DEFEATED MY FRIEND IN THE BASE LINOONE DIDNT HAVE ANYTHING!

You can't have the items after the battle, but who says you couldn't use them in the battle? It's fun to have some recovery and attack help. And the best thing is, the foe can't use items theft by you. I don't have any special berries yet (not even Liechi), but as soon as I'll get some I'll give 'em to SB foes, then mix records.
