Seems as though Pokemon doesn't work on the Wii

I'm not saying that PBR will be a bad game, since I haven't played it, and can't really say anything yet. However, it looks like a game that wouldn't work on the Wii. If a Pokemon game did work on the Wii, it seems as though the Wii remote would be used as a gimmick, like to throw a pokeball. I can't really see any other functions for it. Pokemon is not a very physical game, and just doesn't seem to work. What do you guys think?

You use the buttons. You know, to press and choose attacks.

Not every Wii title made forces you to do something that involves swinging the remote, you know. It can be used normally to play normal games.

<-- Made of awesome.
They didn't want to change game control for EVERY single game. Like the DS; there are games that are entirely touch controlled and others which primarily use the buttons. Compare Kirby: Canvas Curse to Kirby: Squeak Squad.

you don't do anything like that. theres a blue dot that you use the remotes pointer ability to move to pick attacks and everything.

You mean how like the DS' touch controls were nothing more than a gimmick? ;)

Obviously you aren't even aware of how PBR controls.

I'm guessing that you would just use the remote to select attacks by pointing at the attack and pressing A. For battles with your friends I'm hoping you can set each attack to a different button on the D-pad so your opponent doesn't know what you're using.

Good point. It should still show the attacks but it would say to press something on the D-Pad. Nice idea.

Also, in the video's, theres a blue pokeball pointer that youuse to choose attacks. You also use B for back.

I bash Sony anyway for making a crap system. =P
As for PBR, we will see exactly how the cotrols work when it comes out. Hopefully it won't be awkward.

Except that the game is already out and control is no different than one would expect. You can use the Wiimote to control the on-screen menus, and from what I understand, the DS can be linked to the Wii wirelessly and serve as the controller during battles. What the hell else was anyone expecting?

One person I counted. ONE PERSON!!!! One person who mentioned the DS connectivity will be one of the primary features of Pokemon Battle Revolution.

Not all games will have to use the motion sensors 100% of the time, but other people have already said that.

Yeah, for example, they can use the classic controller instead for game that wouldn't translate well for the Mote.

Like what? Might as well put microphone attachments and yell out attacks into it. Pokemon is an RPG, you can't deviate controls in an RPG from what you already have. So don't be surprised if the next Final Fantasy or something that comes out on the Wii has basic controls 75% of the time.

The FF series has changed its control scheme from time to time.

Turnbased, to the ATB gauge first usedin IV, then the Real Time system used in XI and XII, but I doubt any Wii Final Fantasy will be going the same way as "Dragon Quest Swords".

Frankly, I dont see the big problem with the Lack of Mote useage in BPR. it is, afterall, a purely battle game. Now, if there was an PokemonRPG on the Wii, sure, I could see you throwing Pokeballs or pointing to the target Pokemon for an attack, but PBR Foucus more on using the DS as a controler (I think) then the Mote.

They'll probably just use the Wiimote for mini-games, not the actual battles :/

Wiimote is probly held like in Excite Truck right?

Is it too much to ask to try something new and fun?
Yes. Generally because whenever someone tries something new, the fans end up *****ing about it not sticking with basics. Like when the Wii remote was revealed.
