well yes i guess, forgot about that havent played that game since it was out on the Dreamcast, but still he kicked Biolizards rear end in the game but still gun=cheap game selling ploy

This is sad as hell. Sonic Team have completely lost all credibility in my eyes now. They absoloutly killed Sonic with the past games, especially Sonic Heroes, which was the epitome of medicore, and now it's like they're beating his lifeless corpse.
Shadow.. I mean SHADOW. First of all, he's a terrible character. I mean absoloutly god awful. They tried to make Sonic more popular, so they make him black, and very, very angsty. That in know way makes him cool.
Secondly.. the main fault with the recent Sonic games is that, well. Where is Sonic? people are wanting a PROPER Sonic game where you can actually play as Sonic, without having to play as all these other characters doing stupid mini games. *cough* treasure hunting *cough*
Plus the game looks almost exactly the same as Sonic Advevnture 2, where they that lazy they can't even take the time to make a new engine. or enviornment? or do anything original in the slightest?
and they give him a gun.. WTF! this is them really appealing to the mass market now. I'm half expecting there to be mini games where you ride in a car and preform drive-by's to defeat the bosses.
They should have left Shadow to burn to death in the atmosphere.

At the end of Sonic Heroes, Team Dark [SPOIL]Rouge goes into a room full of Shadow robots in the same tubes that she opened the first Shadow from.[/SPOIL] So odds are he's the same. On the bright side, if you can call it that, this is a decent opportunity to developing a good plot-line. Shadow's past and relations with others have always been really interesting IMO. And hopefully this will help piece together the storylines we already have, concerning that whole 'Imma robot' Heroes trash and the events of SA2 and Battle. Would be cool to see how the plot-line of SA2 and the 'plot-line' of Heroes would meld together...hopefully the result won't be in jumbled-mess form.

Look, they didn't include Sonic as the main character to differentiate it from the Sonic games. This is a 'Shadow' game and as such I don't really see a problem with the weapon usage, ala Ratchet and Clank.

Anyways, I agree with Raven Adonis (in case no one read my earlier post --;; ). This is a different game. This isn't a SONIC game, so of course there would be a switch in style. But the thing is, I don't like Ratchet and Clank or JakII or JakIII, which this seems to be imitating...

*Mouth drop open* I don't own many sonic game but that is really pushing it I mean where the speed that is the whole point to sonic the hedgehog game also it sound like one of those bad cop good cop game when we know that Shadow is a Already is a good guy. Oh well we will just have to ride it out when the game is out.

Both characters have absolutely NO NEED for guns. One can use magic, the other can use himself as a weapon.
Both characters have the same pose, with a single color contrast in the background.
It's more creepy than anything else.
And believe it or not, I absolutely hated the X series of FF. >_> Neither one was that appealing, and the fact that we have a game based on a character who supposedly died and then comes back with unnecessary equipment is downright stupid.
And really, using a gun to escape cause he's "not at full power" makes absolutely no sense. How would he break out to begin with? How would he obtain the gun if he was in bad shape? Have you SEEN the actual gun he's holding in the game? It's practically as big as Shadow's body. He couldn't exactly hide it. Not to mention, NO MORTAL could survive a fall from space to Earth. Otherwise, you wouldn't lose a life for falling off the tracks and down into the Earth's atmosphere in the several space levels of SA2. And really, full power? Shadow's a living creature, not a machine (unless you count Sonic Heroes' Shadow).
I just think this is Mario Sunshine all over again. And with Sonic Team's recent credibility in Sonic games from Sonic Shuffle to Sonic Heroes, I am not the least bit pleased at all.

actually, I think an "android" is the correct term for any artificial human, whilst "robot" or "cyborg" applies specifically to mechanical artificial humans. I could be wrong, though. BTW, it's worth mentioning that in the Japanese dialogue for Sonic Heroes, Rouge uses the term 'android' when she talks about Shadow with Omega instead of saying 'robot', which she uses in the English dialogue.
Black Charzee, I'm pretty sure that due to a certain VA passing away recently, a new English voice for at least one character is to be expected in the future.
Anyway, about the actual game itself, I'm not for it or against it. I'm just one of those people who will wait it out and see how it turns up. You can complain and complain all you want, but I doubt Sega is gonna cancel this title. Now, if you complain AFTER it's released, you may help ensure that Sega never makes another game like it, but doing anything BEFORE it's released probably won't help much. Even if Sega notices their plan is met with negative feedback, they'd likely just sit back and hope your opinions will change (as some opinions tend to do) once you actually play their game, which they couldn't just abandon because they already put so much into developing it already.

They're not THAT different. They're essentially the same in terms of what game style they were originally intended to be applied to, so its understandable people are going to associate the two pretty closely.Jynxie said:

Its not the fact that Shadow getting his own game that annoys me, its the fact that Sega are stooping so low as to go to appealing to the mass market rather than making a decent game. And judging by the trailer, the game appears to be of Sonic Heroes type action, which was mediocre at best. I fail to see how a gun is going to make it any more enjoyable.
If Shadow could fire energy blasts and such like he's supposed to, then that would be understandable...

Hmmm...I have seen info on this game before, and seeing as Shadow is my favorite Sonic character (Don't flame people!) I am a bit curious about this game. An entirely Shadow based game sounds cool to me, but I hope they don't turn him into some blood-lusting, explosion freak. 3,000,000 kittens and puppies will die if they do. :[
But OMFG0RXS they better minimize the size of that gun! In the trailer the gun is so big compared to Shadow, I'm surprised the poor hedgie can carry it, much less run Sonic's speed/faster with it. -sigh- A total Shadow game never even came to my most happy dreams, but I think Sonic Team/SEGA whoever may have screwed this one up.

You forget the fact that Shadow is practically EXACTLY like Sonic. Shadow's basically Sonic, only black and has an angsty past. Regardless if it's a Shadow game, he's NEVER used a gun before and never needed one. Why bother now? He has PLENTY of abilities to get by with.Raven Adonis said:
