if you save infront of selphy before you let here see the pokemon she wanted to see and gives you an item, could you stoft restart and get a different item?

Nope, it depends on the number of steps it took, I think. Try doing it before she tells you the pokemon, because it'll be a different pokemon.

She just gives out Luxury Balls to you. Nothing else.

No I'm not calling you a lier, It is just that she gives me Luxury Balls all the time. I mean just a minute ago she gave me a pearl. So there probaly is a big range. I said that because I'm now going to start recording what she gives me.

I personally think now that it depends on how rare the pokemon is. I mean I showed her a Ludicolo and I got a Luxury Ball. But then she asked for a Raikou and she then gave me a Rare Candy!

Well what you sayed makes no sense at all as raikou is rarer than ludicolo and rare candy is rarer thsn a luxury ball.

All I'm saying is that if you show her a legendary, she would give you a better item. But if you show her a common pokemon, it won't be as good of an item.

Maybe I still think it is to do with the number of steps,it doesn't take me that long as all the pokemon she wants to se are in my pc or with me so I just fly to 5 isle and then get the pokemon and then go see her,takes no longer than 150 steps to reach her.Then she asked for LUGIA,I was like AAAAAAHHHH!

It can't be the steps because of one reason. She asked for a Croconaw, and luckily I had one in my party. So I talked to her again, but she gave me a Luxury Ball (which is clearly not the best item). So this proves that it does not depend on steps.

Now back to my list of items. So far, using what I've gotten, other people have gotten and how some items are very similar, I think I have the list.
Rare Candy
Pearl
Big Pearl
Star Piece
Star Dust
