Are my eyes deceiving me or i read it right? BROCK AND EVEN MORE INTERESTINGLY MISTY ARE COMING BACK????
Im speechless, wow i never ever expected this after fiasco and act of disrespect done to classic Kanto characters with 20th anniversary movie. Followed with all issues I have with SM saga from lack of any real direction, not enough action, too much cringe comedy and until now very scarce if any continuity to see this happen. I have to admit, this series know how to deliver surprise when writers and directors truly want it not being lazy.
Im excited and happy because i love bot of this characters. They were part of my childhood deserving respect and recognition as original characters who set up foundation aside from Ash for pokemon to succeed. And being in 20th anniversary for anime year, this is very appropriate and fitting.
It'll get some time to get used to SM animation style, but it looks better than expected and i would have been happier if Brock and Misty were going to return in new clothes, But I wont nitpick, because m looking forward in hearing what have Misty and Brock been up to. See them interact with their close friend Ash after so much time and new characters(I can clearly see potential over Lana and Misty meeting having ALOT in common).
Not to mention find out how they acquired their key and mega stones. Man mega Steelix and mega Gyarados. Brock and Misty look so cool and powerful just with that fact alone.
p.s, On side note are people seriously thinking that Ash Pikachu will destroy Misty mega Gyarados? I mean Pikachu winning is possibility(even though I think mega evolved giant sea like dragon is superior honestly in terms of strength and endurance, especially when in rage and boosted by mega evolution).
But I wouldn't quickly discount Misty in that duel. After all her goal was to become water master, reach E4 level and as water specialist make no mistakes that she is aware of water pokemon weakness working on creating strategies and defensive moves tom maske that reduced to minimum becoming irrelevant.
More over Gyarados already in normal form is extremely strong pokemon. In mega form its a monstrous BEAST not being something to be taken lightly.
Especially because contrary to some belief order of gym leaders strength in games does not translate to anime having different rules to follow. Misty could very well be among strongest Kanto gym leaders, especially after passing 11 years in real life. Honestly im not trying to dismiss Ash battle skills and Pikachu, but people shouldnt rule out Misty so easily either in that battle. What if Gyarados defeats Pikachu? Has anyone taken in account this as option too?
If anything it would be more unpredictable than Pikachu frying it with couple of Z moves defeating third Gyarados in row without any loss so far, kinda uneventful outcome.
How did she show lot of progression in her tenure when she was in background most of the time. She was better in chronicles than in main anime. She got the least development of all the pokegirls so far.
In Kanto, Orange Islands and second half of Johto(especially Master Quest), Misty was very active and prominent in her role, so im not sure from where your getting idea she was "background character" most of the time?
Moreover she wasn't female lead with least character development, but least goal development.
There's difference between goal and character growth(if anything she developed a lot in latter aspect).
Misty, teasing Ash about Serena? Teasing doesn't sound like part of her character. That's something more like Iris would do.
How would Misty react if she found out Serena kissed Ash?
Not sure how she would react regarding Serena, especially given her history of developing romantic feelings for Ash which may still smolder down there, but Misty teased Ash fairly often out of endearment.
