If Flygon goes to Ash I'm curious how the capture will play out. Will he throw a Poke Ball at it after he beats it or will he formally invite it to join his team like he did with Farfetch'd

This while invitation to join the team is getting boring.

Why would the summary mention Flygon as fast? It is fast as far as dragon types are concerned who are usually below 100 but it isn't that fast. Dragon Dance at play here?

If Ash is getting more than 6 then getting everything in base form would either 1. Make everything rushed or 2. Result in another Johto/Unova where most of the team feels like wasted potential and only a few evolutions happened
I'd rather he just catch things fully evolved, Ash earned it after all. If this was an ordinary saga where he was starting from ground zero like OS-SM, yes I'd very much have an issue getting fully evolved Pokemon like this. But it's not

Besides we could still potentially see him catch and evolve a Dreepy, since they do need to showcase the line eventually. I think it's quite obvious that aside from Riolu, most of the non-Galar captures are likely going to be fully evolved.

We don't have time for growth.

If Bea is exactly like she is in the games (like Raihan being champion level) she's about even with the Elite Four. We don't have time to develop unevolved Pokes.

Riolu is the sole exception because he's the ace with the whole stort arc behind him.

Anime and Games are two different things. And Flygon in the anime have been portrayed as pretty fast.

Given how much Flygon has been promoted lately I'd be surprised if this wasn't an Ash capture.

Flygon is in Koko and it's was showcased in Twilight Wings

Someone on the Anime staff really seems to like it so I wouldn't be shocked if Ash ended up with one

So outside of who catches it, what are peoples theories on why Flygon is randomly assaulting a city with sandstorm and abducting people?

Is it just plot aggression, or will solving Flygons issues play a part in the episode?

Maybe someone caught a Trapinch and mother Flygon is trying to get it back.

There’s kinda of a difference between Eevee and Sobble. Eevee was never indicated to Ash while Sobble originally was but was the result of clickbait. Still on the side of Ash getting Flygon tho simply cause of the summary mentioning him struggling in battles lately.

I’m going to guess the latter somewhat. Likely a wild Flygon deciding to cause havoc and seems to be a battle lover. Or should I say “battle junkie”.

It could be worse. I’m kinda waiting for a Johto episode in another forest full of ursarings wanting privacy and eager to maul people on sight (yeah, “Forest Grumps” is one of my few nice memories from Johto).

Well, garanted this flygon could be only a jerk throwing sand on people. Or some rogue member from Team Magma is plotting to create “more land” in the most petty way ever.

Anything can be a ace if they want it to be, even a Magikarp. They can just as easily give some other unevolved Pokemon a story arc.

That's true, it is fast but using its speed to toy with Ash? I know most of his team right now is slow but it shouldn't be that big of a problem.

On Topic: I want to see Flygon take out some Pokemon. Losing to wild Pokemon can't be held against a Pokemon's win/loss ratio. I want a heated battle which would make the capture(if there is one) worthwhile.

i honestly believe goh will help ash in this episode, and something i havent seen people say is gohs plan might involve dragonite and hurricane to get rid of the sandstorm his only pokemon that possibly can.

now my crazy dream would be Goh makes a plan to have G-farfetch use his Leek to get rid of the sandstorm and have ash do 2 v 1 flygon and both riolu and farfetched evolve and a capture

While ash is struggling goh makes and a plan and somehow take down flygon and captures it and that battle helps ash get a strategy to how to defeat bea and helps him cheer up



Or nothing happens with ash in this episode and after 1 or 2 episodes ash catches grookey who helps cheer him up
