Nah, not really. It was probably put there because ??? is a valid type, even if it isn't a type that any Pokemon has except this version of Arceus, and if someone hacked an Arceus in that type, the game might crash, due to it not being able to find that Arceus.

This Arceus was discovered back when we first got D/P sprites.

Figures, the page is updated and STILL WRONG. The plates don’t “serve no other purpose”, they boost the power of moves with the corresponding type by 20%( as opposed to MiracleSeed, Charcoal, MysticWater, etc., which only raise power by 10%).
