• Hi all
Just a notice, we recently discovered that someone got into a moderator account and started hard deleting a load of key and legacy threads...around 150 threads have been lost dating back to 2007 and some weeks ago so we can't roll the forums back.
Luckily no personal data could be accessed by this moderator, and we've altered the permissions so hard deleting isn't possible in the future
Sorry for any inconvenience with this and sorry for any lost posts.

Mace: I don't do any drugs, I don't drink, and the medicine I take isn't known to cause hallucinations or anything like that. I was exhausted (I've slept like 8-10 hours total the entire week), but I distinctly remember not being able to sleep because of them...talking, or whatever those sounds are, and getting up and dressed to investigate. I don't doubt the possibility that it was a horribly terrifying nightmare, but I don't think it's likely. Thanks for the advice.

Saz: Like I said earlier, I don't have any way of taking photos or recording while I'm up here. I respect your opinion (and anybody else's) about not believing me. I won't chastise you or try to convince you, but I appreciate you humoring me.

I've been replaying (or at least trying to) the memories in my head, and from what I remember thinking back on it, the clicking might not have been coming from their bodies. I don't remember seeing any movement of their mouths that would indicate the clicking emitting from them. Maybe they were just trying to scare me, or communicate or something with their mouths (?). I'm thinking the clicking was a byproduct of some kind of device that knocked me out, maybe?

This actually kind of makes a bit of sense when linked with that UFO story I mentioned but never told. I'll try to post tonight, I have work to do.

Assuming they're connected, there maybe another layer of information in the UFO account.

It did sound like you were connecting the clicking sound to passing out, even if you weren't doing it consciously. I don't have any idea what sort of a thing would do that though.

Edit:
Added new news; Dinos and creationism, SETI and Congress discuss Alien Life, HAARP Conspiracy Theories, and Mermaids.

Quag, I'm feeling skeptical against it. First of all, there wouldn't be tons of them. Second, not a lot remembers being abducted. It's a good fiction(I hope).

Blackkyurem, please don't be rude to other members. Whether or not you believe their story (and it's fine to say you don't and why), everyone deserves to be treated with respect.

Also, a good many people recount abduction stories, so I'm not sure where you got that no one remembers being abducted.

I totally agree that this was harsh and things.
I was tired and when I get tired I get skeptical.
If it is true, god help you.

Thanks for editing that Black.

I've posted some more news, idols, fountain of youth, aliens and ufos, and an asteroid hoax.

Edit:
More new news; living fossil (I know it's not paranormal... but how do we keep missing stuff like this?), E.T. as a horror movie, and Ghost Hunters pair leaves to start their own show.

Regarding the abductions: True, it is rare for people to remember being abducted by aliens, but it is also entirely possible for people to remember small snippets of the abduction, and based on what RaveJackal told us, it seems all he remembered is vague images of his abductors, the clicking noise, and being on some sort of elevator. I wouldn't call that a rare case of remembering an abduction at all.

I did find it strange that he had that scar on his arm afterward, and that it disappeared. That would have been a great opportunity to take a picture of the scar, and/or show it to someone. Then again, it would seem that paranormal experiences such as these make the victim reluctant to provide any evidence of it. I even admit to that myself; I didn't take any pictures during my encounter with faeries, but that's probably because it was dark outside and a camera flash might have scared them off.

Sometimes I feel as if I'm not providing any accurate info on paranormal occurrences because I haven't had much of any myself - the one I did have featured spirits that were hardly even visible or audible. Sometimes I wish I did have more profound paranormal experiences just to be able to truly understand what one is like - a prophetic dream, an out-of-body experience, an encounter with a ghost or supernatural creatures, anything. Yet at the same time, I've had people warn me against seeking out paranormal activity or visiting haunted places for fear of experiencing something truly frightening. It's as if I'm trying my hardest to believe in something I've never experienced myself. Then again, given my faery encounter in which I didn't see or hear much, it could be that I'm just not naturally susceptible to paranormal experiences.

Also confirming this is that I've not been very susceptible to hypnotism either. I've been a volunteer on two stage hypnotist shows, but both times, I wasn't properly hypnotized; I stayed conscious all throughout and remembered what happened, unlike other volunteers who had absolutely no recollection of the experience.

And that leads me to wonder, as I've heard that it's typically the people with more vivid imaginations who are more susceptible to these things. I've always considered myself to have a good imagination, but also a natural tendency to be aware of my physical surroundings, no matter what state of mind I'm in or what kind of drugs I'm on. I keep wondering if the latter is what's been keeping me from having any profound paranormal experiences. At times I've tried to enforce such experiences, like trying to mentally contact some alternate realm like the Otherworld, and while I may see things during such visits, it feels like I'm just making it up. And I feel kind of crazy asking this, but do any of you know of any ways to possibly get past this tendency to stay rooted in the physical plane? I keep thinking it's a matter of some ability to see or hear things that aren't there that I don't have...

I feel like everyone who tries to go ghost hunting should wear a GoPro now, just to make sure they capture every single thing they saw off-screen or when the camera wasn't rolling. It would have been awesome to share with us what those faeries exactly looked like.

Being able to enter the astral/spirit plane... I guess you'll have to perform a chant, summoning, etc? From the stories linked, it seems there are certain areas that just overlaps our world to the other.

I have a question. How do pictures and videos capture ghost sightings when the human eye can't?

@ Kiruria:
Fairies is a great paranormal experience, and it’s not very common nowadays.

Though I’ve experienced some of the things you mentioned, a lot of the stuff I talk about comes from review and research into various cases and mythologies, rather than firsthand experience. Just paying attention to any cases/stories you hear can make you a great resource to others.

From what I understand you have to truly want to be hypnotized. Is there some fear or concern? Likewise, is it possible that you’re simply smarter than the other volunteers?

I’d advise you not to sacrifice your logical mind for the possibility of a paranormal experience. All that would do is make you an unreliable witness, and your experiences questionable in nature. I’d recommend continuing to visit places where paranormal activity occurs.

@ Saz:
It would be advisable, but not always affordable.

Yes, certain places and times are supposed to weaken the veil between the worlds.

Um, aside from the obvious hoaxes and misidentifications (dust and camera straps), it’s possible the entities interact with the camera directly, or only appear so briefly that the photographer doesn’t realize they’re there.

Hi people, I just recently joined this club and researched on Filipino monsters. Here are what i researched:

Aswang: Okay, This is the topic that i will focus today. Aswang refers to many types of shape-shifters (usually females) that are mortals by day, but at night, their body separates from their torso and their other half sprouts wings and fly to search of human liver and heart to eat. The other half stays still. The only way to defeat a aswang is to sprinkle salt at the other half of its body so that, when the sun rises and the other half comes back, they won't combine and they will turn into ashes the moment the rays of the sunlight touches them.

The other aswangs i will explained later in mah other post. See you later!

And, oh yeah, this is a picture of a aswang:aswang.jpg

@SazandoraIsAwesome: My theory behind cameras seeing ghosts is that ghosts give off a certain wavelength of light that is not typically detectable by human eyes, but is still detectable by the camera. That or they exercise some form of mild mind control on people nearby, altering their vision and causing the ghost to remain hidden from view. Additionally, if the photos were taken with an "analog" camera (by that I mean not a digital one, one that uses film), the ghost could use some form of psychokinesis to alter the film itself. I like the first theory the best, as it's the only one that explains ghosts being caught on camera against their will (though, we have no way to determine whether the ghost knew it was on camera).

@VampirateMace: Ehehehe, thanks for reassuring me... I guess perhaps the most I can do is stick with imagination, observing of existing encounters, and simple deduction. It seems we are in much the same boat...

@Zbger: Ah yes, I remember reading a short article on the Aswang once. The article classified them as vampires (of the flesh-eating variety), but I've seen a lot of mythological creatures with such classifications with the myths suggesting they're a different creature altogether (incubi and succubi are another example). The weakness to salt makes sense, as salt is a potent purification tool in all sorts of magical workings, much like garlic is. It's also used to preserve corpses though, which doesn't make a lot of sense in the case of the Aswang. (I assume the Aswang must be undead, as there's no way a mortal being would be able to split its body in half like that and reattach itself later.)

Another thing I've been thinking about today is the concept of remembering previous lives. I've come to a notion that certain unexplainable personality traits or an inclination towards certain interests can hint at elements of a previous life. I had this idea that when someone dies and then enters another life, any previous wishes or lingering thoughts they had, no matter how accepting they were of them, can leave a mark on the next life, perhaps out of the faint hope that their next incarnation can be inclined to carry out the previous life's wishes. I've also come to question the time duration between incarnations. I had previously thought that there is no set time inbetween; someone could be reincarnated immediately after the previous death, or up to several hundred (or thousand) years afterward, but immediately is highly unlikely because a spirit usually has other stuff to attend to or simply lingers in the spirit realm a while. So when I saw this TV show about a criminal who believed he was the reincarnation of a previous criminal, who died immediately before the current criminal was born, you can imagine how skeptical I was. Just goes to show how inaccurate TV shows can be...

You both seem to be a little confused, the creature you are describing is called a Manananggal, and though they have similar traits to Aswang (of which there are many variety), I don't think they are considered Aswang. (edit: Does someone have a source for that either way? The wikipedia page I linked doesn't say it is, or that it isn't.)

Yup, reincarnation is a hard one. Even if the kid says all sorts of things that sound right, and has a birthmark relating to the fatal wound of their supposed past life, there's no real proving it. A lot of people give a lot of different timelines for how long it takes to be reincarnated, but I'm in agreement that it may not really be a fixed amount of time.

Edit:
Added more news! New news, fresh news. . . what is it? Well, it's Aliens and Climate Change, Superstitions and Car Crashes, and finally how the Slenderman Urban Legend lead to a Stabbing (yeah, I'm still having trouble grasping how a myth with a commonly known origin led to this). Got news? Post it, if it's good I'll share it. . . If it's not, well, at least I know you're still alive (or maybe undead as the case may be. . . it's after 11pm, does it show? I bought a pocket combo microscope/telescope today, it was one of those things I didn't realize I wanted until I saw it, and it looks really nerdy sitting in my bag next to my sonic screwdriver).

Edit 2:
More news, mostly about Friday 13th.

Hello, everybody.
Due to reasons I have been instructed not to divulge, I am taking a hiatus from the forums, and by extent, this club. I'm not sure when I will return, if ever. I know it's short notice, but if anybody would like to ask any final questions or make any final statements, I will be online for the rest of today and possibly part of tomorrow. Thank you all for listening when no one else would.

-Regards, Rave

Well okay, guess there's not much else to ask then. I can't honestly say you impacted my belief in bigfoot or alien bigfoot much (which is pretty much non-existent), but thank you for sharing your encounter anyways.

Edit:
Well I have another evidence-less ghost story of my own. Last night I stayed up late (Plants vs Zombies), then I was awoken several times during the early morning (cell phone with a dying battery beeping, a couple expected phone calls), so once I was fully awake (and by then, alone in the house), I was not very motivated to get up. I could hear tiny clanks from outside, which I know to be stellar jays hopping on the roof gutter, and then suddenly there was a loud bang, like a door slamming. Now, we live in the middle of nowhere, and I hadn't heard a car, so obviously this sound got me up, and coming out of my room, I found the unoccupied room next to me had it's door closed, which had been open the night before. No one was inside, but there was also no reason anyone would have closed that door, or even gone past it earlier in the morning, since it and my room are at the end of the hall. So, assuming the poltergeist wanted privacy, I went ahead and re-shut the door.

Edit 2:
Well, we were supposed to have the contest orginally intended for last month this one, but it doesn't look like that'll be happening. Also, if someone doesn't post soon, we're going to lose our club.

Edit 3:
Added some news about all the 'alien stuff' supposedly on Mars!

The sky's been weird lately. There was one time when I saw a bright red light. At first it was dim. Then suddenly trend bright. Then dim again. Kept doing this for about 2 minutes. Then after that, it stayed bright, and went right. I thought it was a plane, since that's the direction of the airport. But it just stayed there in one spot in the sky.

Before that, I saw this green waving thing at the sky in the distance. I was joking to myself, saying it was a dimensional hole. Then a plane went through it, and it disappeared. There was nothing in the news about it, but I'm sure I saw a green thingy.

Both happened two weeks ago, maybe 2-3 days apart. Nothing since then though.

mmmm its always interesting to hear these kinda of reports, because they reaffirm the theory of "star gates" or other types of inter-dimensional portals of the sorts.
Similer to some of the theorys with the Bermuda Triangle.
YOu very well might have just seen the lights of the plane itself become distorted through the fluctuating density of a cloud, causing a reflected spectrum of light being produced into the greenish colour that you saw. similar to how a rainbow is produced.
With that said though you may well have seen something of the intergalactic kind.

These days myself though iv noticed only the brightness of our world to be growing, you could assimilate such things to watever you wish, but we are well within the said "golden age" now..

Sorry for not being so active either, iv been doing other odd things, but it seems it is the season for me to re-appear here ^.^

I must admit though discussion some of the things on here now kinda seems almost mundane, in that.. Almost everyday i witness what could be a UFO in the sky, almost everyday i percieve what could be otherworldly activity effecting our plane.

I wish sometimes people would almost experiment in the things they've been talking about in a sense i saw a post ages ago on this same page that said "Curiosity killed the cat" .
Thats true, often though the greatest things involve great risk to attain, and in terms of being able to understand or recognize things that are happening on alternate planes and or dimensions you psyhically have to alchemise yourself... Though this does involve risks in terms of sanity.. If at all you understand and further able to even progress in that direction..

Iv found that between those who decline truth for watever reasons and those who are evolving and accepting the changes of this golden age, some are progressively being able to attune their self's into high states of consciousness and thus are able to push their consciousness into dimensions and gain access to frequency's in which most other people can not. Regardless though the methods of doing such don't always have their foundations pillared in the scientific community, in that, the basis and foundation of these actions cant be traced because it is centered in and on energy, which is dimensionless and can not be governed by mathematics.. Thus can not be traced by means of such....

But what im talking about here is human alchemy in its most simple form because it does involve the consciousness change of the human mind.
Their are those who perform Human body modification upon their selfs to alter their selfs in some form for whatever reason, what i speak of though, is pure mental
and a method of which could be described as active evolution.
The most well known form of this is meditation in some sense, but it involves an evolution of meditation which knowledge of the universe to extend yourself into parts of such in which are no longer governed by your body and thus you have to know and have information of such places, extensively.

I relise what im talking about is strange but it is a developed conceptual method proved to exist by many people around the world in different forms, some use substances such as the shamans for example, this method just involves yourself and knowledge should you have knowledge of both ...
Its just a means to accept that which is around you more fully and allow yourself to experience more things such as aliens in formless dimensions as well as opening yourself to the activities happening around you daily..

Hmm, Saz, the first one sounds like a pretty typical UFO sighting, but I've not heard too much about stuff like the second one, though like CM, what I have heard about vortexes is usually in connection to the Bermuda Triangle (you wouldn't happen to live around some location such as that, would you?)

Moth, I can appreciate your quest for higher than human knowledge (and I quite agree with you on "Curiosity killed the cat" that being why I posted "but satisfaction brought him back" as sometimes you need to be curious), however many people need scientific evidence to believe in things, and an altered state of consciousness is not recognized as evidence scientifically (which you do seemed to have acknowledged to some degree), as false memories and impressions are easy to come by, even in a normal state of mind.

Also, if you're seeing UFOs that regularly (assuming that's outside of visions), then please, snap some pictures!

I'm from Hawaii. No where near the Bermuda Triangles, let alone Miami haha
The green thing was weird. I'm bad with lengths, so even though I could see it clearly, I don't know how far it was. Could be more than 5 miles away, could be less than that. All I remember was a plane going through it then disappearing. It looked like it could fit 2 1/2 planes.

As for the red thing, UFO or not, idk. It kinda looked like a plane though. Only thing weird was that it was hovering in one area for probably a solid minute or two. Then it started throbbing bright red and dim red for another minute. I should have taken a video, but I was fixated on it and didn't bother taking a pic.
