Go to Wyndon and you'll go straight to the stadium for the Semin Finals. First is against Marnie who Gigantamaxes Grimmsnarl here
Defeat her and next up is against Hop. He Dynamaxes his starter

After you defeat Hop, you exit and meet Leon and he suggests taking a break at the inn until the next day and getting dinner. However, Piers arrives instead and mentions Leon went off to Rose Tower. However, when Marnie and everyone go onwards, Oleana gets in the way and says Rose isn't to be disturbed and that she gave the monorail key to a member of staff

Each time you find the member of staff he battles you until he gives you the key. Go up to the tower and you'll have to face off Macro Cosmos staff on the way up

At the top you find Oleana. She uses Gigantamax Garbodor. Defeat her and encounter Rose and Leon. Leon questions why Rose wants to cancel the match in order to prevent a crisis in a thousand years. After discussion, Leon decides to take you and Hop to dinner and Rose claims he will change the course of human history

The next day is the Finals. Here you have to face off against every Gym Leader to reach Leon

The first match is against Bede who has come to settle a score with you. He has replaced Opal. He Gigantamaxes Hatterene
The second match and first official match is against Nessa. This time she Gigantamaxes Drednaw
Next is against Bea who again Gigantamaxes Machamp
Marnie interrupts as her brother lost
Finally Raihan is the next opponent, once again Gigantamaxing Duraludon but in a singles match

After that, Hop gives you words of encouragement and the time for the final begins

However as you goto start, Rose activates the Darkest Day so he can save the world. On discussion with Hop, the decision to go to the slumbering Weald is made

Get to the end of Slumbering Weald and you'll find Hop, then Zacian and Zamazenta will appear and then disappear into the fog but Sonia insists they are just illusions

Get to the grave site and you ind a Rusted Sword and Rusted Shield. You take the one applicable to your version while Hop takes the other. You then go to Hammerlocke Stadium where you meet Raihan and rush in to help Leon.

In there Oleana requests your help as her Pokémon started to Dynamax and the power plant is close to collapse. She says Rose has awakened a Pokémon known as Eternatus and that its energy is what causes Dynamaxing. If this continues, every Pokémon in Galar will Dynamax.

Go into the Energy Plant and you'll find Rose who intends to stop you. You must battle him. He Gigantamaxes his Cooperajah

Defeat Rose and he apologises for interrupting your match but insists it was necessary. He says Leon went to deal with Eternatus and that he's sure he stopped it. As such you head up to stop Eternatus but see Leon has already worn it down. Leon tries to capture it but Eternatus breaks out of the ball and attacks you. It's Level 60 and can't be caught

Defeat it and it grows and changes into another form with a Max Raid Battle. You can't use any moves./ After a few turns, Hop suggests using the Ruster Sword & Shield. This causes Zacian and Zamazenta to awaken. They then appear at the Energy Plant and the Rusted Sword & Shield cause them to change forms and you have a full max Raid Battle with them. Defeat it and you catch Eternatus. Zacian and Zamazenta then depart

Three Days Later

People in the inn are discussing how Rose has turned himself in but Hop comes and says Leon still wants the Championship match with you. His Pokémon are slightly higher level. He of course Gigantamaxes Charizard

The postgame starts immediately with a clip to the Slumbering Weald where you got the Rusty Sword. Magnolia gives you the Master Ball

Go to the Slumbering Weald and you'll find Hop who is there to reflect. He then battles you. Defeat him and Sonia appears. She will say how she is now the professor and gives you her book. She then recommends returning the Rusted Sword & Shield to the grave. she will then say her Power Spot detector is activating and two people arrive. They trash Sonia's book and introduce themselves as Sordward and Shielbert, the descandants of the first kings of Galar. They take the Rusted Sword & Shield and challenge you to a battle. Defeat them and you get your item back but Hop loses his match and they run off with the other item with Hop in pursuit

In Leon's room in his house in Postwick, he has left a Charmander for you. When it evolves, it can Gigantamax

Go to the Lab and Sonia mentions that the Power Spot detector goes off when Sordward and Shielbert are near so can be used to track them down. She finds them at Turrfield. When there, you have to face a Dynamax Pokémon teamed wtih Hop, Milo and Piers

The Pokémon is a Tsareena and you face it in a Max Raid Battle. You can't catch it. Defeat it and Milo will look after it and give you his Rare League Card

Sordward and Shielbert then appear and say that it was their plan and they'll keep Dynamaxing stronger Pokémon. Sonia then will appear and say she has heard it at both Motostoke and Hulbury

Next stop; Hulbury and it's Gyarados attacking this time you have Nessa helping you. Defeat it and Nessa gives you her Rare League Card

Go to Motostoke next for a Torkoal and defeat it with Kabu for his Rare League card

Afterwards, Sonia will inform you that Sordward and Shielbert have appeared at the lab to take the Wishing Stars. You battle them in a Multi Battle with Hop. Defeat them and you learn Sonia's new assistant was in fact a spy for them and hands over the Wishing Stars. You learn the plan is to put Galar under royal rule and they need the Wishing Stars to force Pokémon to Dynamax. Sonia mentions there are 4 stadiums with readings now and you need to take care of them

Stow-on-Side in Sword has you hdo a max Raid Battle alone as there are multiple. You face Conkeldurr and get Bea's Rare League Card
Ballonbea has you meet Bede but he insists he doesn't need your help as he took on three and challenges you to a battle. You then get Bede's Rare League Card and Opal's Rare League Card

Go to Circhester and you'll have to face off against another on your own. In Sword it's a Gigalith. You get Gordie's rare League Card

Go to Hammerlocke and you'll see Sonia report that the duo have got into the Energy plant but locked it. First, speak to Raihan and you'll have to face another Dynamax. This time you face a Haxorus and get Raihan's rare League Card

Speak to Sonia and she'll open the door thanks to her Yamper. Go into the Energy Plant and Sordward/Shielbert will have some followers and congratulate you on stopping the Dynamax Pokémon. They intend to show the true nature of Zacian and Zamazenta, that the stories are lies and they are here because of Sonia's book which showed Zacian and Zamazenta are the heroes in history and not their ancestors. They want to bombard Zacian/Zamazenta with Galar particles to see how they react. He challenges you. Defeat them and their brother will have been able to summon Zacian/Zamazenta

They will be in control of Zamazenta, following the Rusty Shield in Sword or Zacian in Shield. You have to battle it. It's Level 70 and you can't catch it. Defeat it and it'll be calmed. Zamazenta/Zacian then charge for Hop and the other appears to protect. It runs off and Hop decides to go after it, taking the item stolen from him. Zacian's about to go after Sordward/Shielbert but you stop. Zacian then waits and you can battle it. You attach the Rusty Sword and it changes form

Capture it and Sordward and Shielbert promise they'll atone for their deeds and Piers gives you his Rare league card. Hop will then call and ask for your help as he is struggling with Zamazenta/Zacian in Slumbering Weald

Go into the forest and you'll see Hop and Zamazenta. Hop has calmed Zamazenta down and catches it. He then challenges you to a battle with his Zamazenta/Zacian in his part. Defeat him and Hop mentions he has realised he too wants to become a Pokémon Professor. Sonia then offers he become her assistant. You'll get his Rare League Card

Then, Piers, Leon, Shielbert and Sordward appear to apologise and abdicate their stake to ruling Galar, giving it to you. The story comes to a close. The Battle Tower in Wyndon then opens up[/spoiler

Worked out that even though they're not version exclusives, fossils are more "Version Common"

In Sword you'll get Fossilized Bird and Fossilized Dino naturally in two areas and more common with the Digging Duo (Page on them coming soon)
In Shield you'll get Fossilized Fish and Fossilized Drake naturally in two areas and more common with the Digging Duo (Page on them coming soon)
