The black backgound doesn't really work out. The outlining is not that great, since it's white. It's more of a purple color than shadow.

reverse the backround and the fill. the white looks ridiculous and makes the sprite hurt peoples eyes with the color contrast

I tried to make it look like Shadow Lugia from XD:Gale of Darkness, but it could use some improvement. Well it is what I have for Pokemon RPG message boards.

Ask yourself. Does that even remotely LOOK like XD001 aka Shadow/Dark Lugia? Hell no. That's BRIGHT BLUE with a white belly. I suggest taking your time to color a sprite, not going willy nilly and deciding to dub something that is messy, rushed and icky like that, what it's not.

To make a real XD001 sprite I suggest taking a picture of Dark Lugia. Taking a sprite of Lugia, and use the picture as reference so you know what you're doing. OR if you want to do it on your own, create super dark blue or dark violet colors to color in the sprite. All this Lugia really looks like is when you invert a picture or something in MS paint. .. that's really nothing to be proud of.
