Pfft. Rental at best, for me. Sonic games have been getting worse and worse as they've been coming out since Adventure 2. The fact that they're putting weapons and vehicles in the game when the characters always used their own bodies and speed to get through stages is ridiculous. Shadow doesn't need a damn gun, nor does he need a motorcycle.

You know the guns and vehicles are optional for people who want to use them. Besides Shadow is supposed to be the fastest Sonic game yet, deepest stroyline, choice to be good or bad, unique stuff, and plus the fact they fix the problems from Sonic Heroes. Besides in a past interview it was shown that kids wanted a shooting Sonic game and this happen to be it. Plus that they would never give Sonic a gun. Plus the fact that this game also is pretty serious compared to previous Sonic's.

Funny thing is Shadow the Hedgehog is NOT a Sonic game. Whenever I talk about it with people I always call it a "Sonic spinoff", because that is what it is. Naka said its a spinoff, not a Sonic game, a SPINOFF, he wants to expand the Sonic universe, kinda like Mario games. You know how expanded the Mario universe is? We go Donkey Kong games, Wario games, Yoshi games, etc. And they all come from Mario. That is what is attempted to be done to Sonic as of now, Shadow the Hedgehog is targetted to be the spinoff of the Sonic series, and I figure for anti-Shadow and pro-Shadow fans alike, it would benfit both of them if he got his own series. Shadow would most likely never appear in the mainstream SONIC games ever (unless it was a cross-over game) and Shadow would have his own seperate storyline, not needed to be known in the Sonic series.
Naka revealed that Sonic, the hedgehog himself, will never have a gun, and its a big improvment over Sonic Heroes. Of course Shadow dosen't need weapons, cars, motercycles, etc. But the point is they aren't required and they are there for the interactivity of the Sonic world. Yet it does seem GTA-ish.
You also have to know Naka's email box was fludded with Sonic fans going "GIVE SONIC A GUN! GIVE SONIC A GUN!" Sonic Team is doing what their fans want, but instead of giving Sonic a gun they are giving it to Shadow at least. Hey Shadow with a gun is better then Sonic. But really, does Sonic Team have to follow what their fans are screaming to them? Well if they want to make money, I guess they do. If you have a problem about how Sonic is going, how about you and your friends flood Naka's email box and request diffrent? >> Yet I'm etchy on the gun thing myself. I just hate it when people complain and don't do anything about it themselves. Ever since Sonic Adventure 2, Sonic Team PERSONALLY always wanted to make a Shadow video game, and plus he is the second most popular character next to Sonic. Once upon a time, there was a great scientist named proffesor Gerald. Gerald was a crafty scientist who loved nothing more than his granddaughter Maria. Unfortunately, Maria had a disease, so Gerald sent her to the first space colony ever which he created, ARK, for she could live in no other place but there.
GUN became immpressed by Gerald's accomplishments and demanded him to build an "immortal" soilder army to work for them in war. Gerald first didn't agree, until he thought of his grandaughter, for with immortality, he could make her dream come true to visit Earth. He began.
Under mysterious circumstances, a great alien named Black Doom stumbled upon Gerald's problem. In a deal, Black Doom gave Shadow imortality, and in return, Shadow would one day bring him the seven Chaos Emeralds. Gerald agreed.
We go into the future by 54 years.
After it's last appearence 54 years ago, the Black Comet returns, fropping an alien race anmed Black Arms upon the unexpecting citizens of Earth. Black Doom notices Shadow, and comes to him to ask for the Emeralds as Gerald promised.
Shadow, for a reason unknowst to Black Doom, questions who Black Doom is and what the promise is.
Black Doom leaves Shadow in the doomed city of Westopolis.
Shadow, content of discovering his past, goes to help Black Doom, but finds Sonic along the way. Shadow remeber Sonic from Sonic Heroes, when Sonic seemed to know to much about him. A descion is put between him to join Black Doom or Sonic, both of which seem to know more about him than him himself.
Later, GUN General and Eggman join in the mix.
Revolutions:
If you join Sonic, Shadow will think he's the Shadow from Sonic Adventure 2.
If you join GUN General, Shadow will think he is a weapon of the milatary.
If you join Black Doom, Shadow will think he is the work of the Blackarms.
If you join Eggman, Shadow will think he died and brought back to life by Eggman.
And, Shadow will get his own answers if he works for himself...
Weapons system was pretty easy to handle. It's also fast paced. It will take me some time to use the X button more... but dang is it fun to blow up stuff with the cannon type weapons and with Chaos Blast!

Anyways I am getting the game andI won't stop playing till I finished. It's been said already but I'll metion it again. Shadow the hedghog isn't a sonic game. It just has him as a guest star.

HUR HUR USER TITLE
Already ordered it (along with Sonic Rush) on Gamefly to be ordered and arrive to my mailbox on the 18th.
I'll be playing both nonstop, and hopefully have a review (and some videos) of both the games by next week or a little later.
So far, from the few people at SSMB that already own the game, I can conclude it's A LOT BETTER THAN HEROES.
They said it's slightly above average, and you get Maria as a partner. (wait, that's not a good thing...)

I thnik that this game looks even more interesting than I originally thought. So if this game is based after sonic Heroes, does that mean that the shadow from that game is the sam one as fron SA2? I always got confused with this part of the story.
And, if shadow can have so many stories, do we actuaslly find out which is his real past?

We don't know if Shadow from Shadow the Hedgehog, Sonic Heroes, and Sonic Battleis the same Shadow from the ARK incident and Sonic Adventure 2. If he is the real one or a machine/clone will be solved in this game, prolly in the game's true ending, or if you follow Shadow's path if he went alone. We will prolly learn Shadow's true past in this game.

Well I know I'm definately getting it for Christmas! I am a huge Sonic Series Fan as you may have not known. Probably one of the biggest Sonic Fans alive besides my brother. (yes, even bigger than you...)
