Because Obito had the Sharigan?
During the Kakashi Gaiden Arc (Ch. 239-244) Kakashi had a teammate named Uchiha Obito.
Hopefully that would end all the "Where does Kakashi get his Sharingan" things....XDDD
Kakashi was very strict and rule abiding, to the point where Obito disliked him because Obito believed otherwise. Plus Obito disliked him because Kakashi found himself to be superior to him, always bashing his lack of skill.
Team Yondaime was about to go on a mission where they will destroy a bridge in the Hidden Village of Stone or something, and it is in that same day where Kakashi is appointed as Jounin.
Rin, Kakashi's female teammate, gave him a special medical pack, and Yondaime gave Kakashi a special Kunai, Obito however didn't have anything to give Kakashi~
So they went in the mission, Obito wearing goggles because he feared getting stuff in his eye~
On a mushroom forest, Kakashi and Yondaime dispatched a spy nin while Obito was cowering in fear. He felt even more angry at Kakashi as Kakashi rushed in single handedly, ignoring Yondaime's orders and again, bashing Obito's lack of abilities.
That night, Yondaime told Obito, Kakashi's past. About how his father, the white fang, Hatake Sakumo. Sakumo was a powerful ninja, a hero, respected at the same regard as the sannins. However, during one mission, he chose the life of his teammates over the mission itself thus causing the village major losses. The village blamed Sakumo, thus he commited suicide~So thereafter, Kakashi abided strictly at the rules.
Obito understood Kakashi a bit, however they were sabotaged by two Stone nins, eventually the two enemies kidnap Rin. (Yondaime separated from them to take the enemies head on)
Obito and Kakashi gets into an argument, about whether to save Rin or not. Kakashi says no since the mission is more important, but Obito disagreed even saying~
"Those who don't follow the rules are indeed trash. But those who don't save their teammates are lower than trash. If it means I'll be trash....then so be it."
Kakashi then found some enlightment seeing Obito's determination and his acknowledgement of his father's true greatness.
Obito went to the enemies' lair and one Stone nin found him. He was almost struck dead, however Kakashi intervened, saving Obito.
Unfortunately, the Stone nin had a special jutsu which allowed him to grow invinsible, thus catching Kakashi offguard, slashing his left eye.
Kakashi was slashed because he saved Obito.
Determined to save his companions and tired from being weak and a dependent, Obito awoke the Sharingan beating the Stone nin.
Kakashi and Obito then proceeded to save Rin, captive in the cave, however even their combined efforts were for naught~As the Stone nin used a Doton jutsu which made the cave crumble.
Due to Kakashi's left eye being completely useless, it served as a blind spot, and he got hit on the head with a rock. As Kakashi was about to be crushed, Obito saved him, pushing him away.
Obito got crushed.
"No...right now...on your Jounin appointment...I couldn't give you anything...I thought...what would be right...what would be nice to give you? And now I know....
I'll give you...my Sharingan eye."
So Rin, being a medical ninja, transplanted the Sharingan eye to Kakashi's useless left eye.

To clarify what the above post said, [spoil]Kakashi has a Sharingan eye because his old childhood teammate, Obito, was an Uchiha.
Obito forgot to give him a present at some time, and while he was breathing his lasts breaths of air being crushed by a boulder, he removed his eye and gave it to Kakashi as a parting gift. [/spoil]

Aw well, my explanation is a bit simpler, but it'll take you less time to read. ^^;

however, becuase Kakashi is not an Uchiha, it takes a lot of chakra to use his sharingan.
