Shinji:Ash's first constant rival?

Ash has had many rivals in the past but they only appear not that often or not at all each season. I think that Shinji will be Ash's Rival he will see very constantly during his journeys in Shinou. What's is your say in this.

I guess you could say that. But then again when I think of the word "rival" it would imply someone that actually provided a challenge, and Casey most certainly did not give Ash any challenge. Gary was still his rival in Johto, although he was seen even less there than in Kanto.

Getting back on topic, I too would agree that Shinji is Ash's first true rival since Gary. I sure hope Shinji's rivalry with Ash is well-developed and we get to see more battles between these two before the Shinou Leauge, where they'll most likely face off against one another.

The GSC rival needed a proper apperence. Personaly they are making up for that with this guy, as usual shafting the male charaters like Brenden. So Diamond and Blondy are getting the shaft...
