Shinou

Some people have debated about this before. I've said this some time ago that Shinou might be somewhere near Johto. If you think about it, the game has Scizor, Wooper, and Butterfree. Why Butterfree? Butterfree were found in G/S/C at or around Lv10 in the wild or in trees by Headbutting.

I have also pondered that what part of the land in Johto was Cianwood connected to? It could be in the region of Johto, but what's on the opposite side of Cianwood??

WEll, it's possible. With the inclusion of day/night as well, it coudl very well be the otherside of Johto. Although, we wont go back to Johto or anything. 1) because I don't want to and 2) becuase they've said so.

WHERE IS PIDGEOT?!
id realy like to see Johto, and it's perfectly possible. i found somewhere a while back that they were trying to focus on more Johto Pokemon this time, as they were missed in RSE (i think its the official site actually. or gamewatch or something) and also, johto hasnt had an advanced game AND it has the day/night feature like Shinou.

And what REALLY gets me is that since Johto and Kanto are connected and all, are they part of a bigger continent?

Umm...The east side of this region is by the sea. The east region of Johto is by the sea. So I doubt it (although we've yet to see the west side yet).

Either way it would be inaccessible, so it wouldnt make much odds.

Oh definatly. If Kanto and Johto aren't connected to a larger continent I'd be VERY surprised.

You do realize that the game designers probably don't care whether or not you want to go to Johto again, right? But I doubt that we'll be heading back to Johto either way.

shove it up ya bum!
I'd prefer this region to be completely different and unrelated to any other of the other regions. Connecting them after the Elite 4 is fine, but do it by ferry. Start a fresh, away from the others.

As for your point about the pokemon, Pikachu etc. were in Hoenn, that doesn't mean it's related to Kanto in anyway, it just has some of the same pokemon.

And really, IMO Johto was the most poorly designed region. Especially places like the Lighthouse and certian routes, it was obvious that they were rushed and no real effort was put into them.

Thats what I Thought but I always wondered what was on the other side of kanto when I first played r/b/y but it turned out to be johto so maybe johto and shinou have a connection since there seems to be a lot of johto pokemon

<- Me Like A Lot!
I think they are related/close with the appearance of Scizor and aparently wild butterfree. Also i would love to go back to Johto but if we could would we be able to go to Kanto as they are connected?

That is true. The design was not that good, but GameFreak had put in some thought about creating some interesting backgrounds for some places like Ecruteak.

EDIT: Even though Johto WAS connected to Kanto, we would have the region in 3 of the series already. IF, you had beaten the game, Johto was unlocked to navigate through, you could have FR/LG plugged in the GBA slot on the DS to open up the Kanto map to travel to. Hoenn could be the same way, but I doubt it.

yeh, but that only means the games were bad, not the region. all it takes is a little spruce up and we(i)'ll be happy. i really liked Johto. and it had the most interesting gym types IMO. and just the general feel of it makes me tingly inside haha. i remember being so excited about day/night etc.

Im pretty sure its just its own little island.
Yeah it is Hokkaido(shinou) and kanto and Jotho are were Tokyo is and Hoeen is that island under Japan, the game makers always used Japan as example, and the used parts (regions that were already connected, Since Tokyo is somewhere else then Hokkaido, I think Jotho and shinou are not connected

YES!! they should definitly be somewhat related to johto! and im still waiting for a remake nintendo where is it?! i think that in diamond/pearl u should be able to go hoenn, johto, and kanto. but in kanto u could probally go to the battle frontier. and in johto u could probally do something else like pokemon contests so in shinou and hoenn u could just get badges. then it would somewhat like s/g/c, (16 badges and new features).
