how do you guys catch all them shinies? I really want one in Emerald. Does anybody have any tips to help me catch one?

Yeah, there is only a 1 in 8192 chance of getting one.
I have 2, and both of them were found randomly when I wasn't looking. So the trick is: don't look.
And make sure you have either fasle-swiper or a sporer in your team, and plenty of ultra/timer balls.
Also try to train in the grass instead of trainers.

Like i wanted a ditto and found a suicine ( he runned away - . - )

the game is very creepy...

lolforumz.
IMO, one of the easiest ways to gt a shiny, is throguh Soft Reseting, with it you have control over what you get, unlike random encounter shinys.

yea shinies come out when they want i was in seafome island tryin to get to were articuno is and a shiny golduck apeared it was my first shiny

Shinies are super rare indeed, but if you have the patience try soft resetting everytime you encounter a Legendary or breed constantly. o_O

But soft-resetting is incredibly boring. I was looking for a shiny Dratini, and I took 5 hours, with only two breaks to... stop for being so tired. It's very hard to get a shiny one.

But, as I said in the official shiny topic, once I found a Shiny Paras in the Safari Zone... I was looking for tiny mushrooms and I thought "wouldn't it be cool if I found a rare shiny here? I never found one, and it would be awesome to have a shiny Parasect in my UU fixed team" and then it appeared. I threw a Safari Ball and... Wild Paras Fled. It's just a Paras, yet it ran on the first turn! Poor luck.

Yeah, i've heard many horror stories about shinys fleeing in the safari zone, one of the reasons i'm glad i've never seen one in there, >.<

Yea I never go to the safari because i might see a shiny and it might run away. then i will throw the game out the window. to stay on topic, the best way to get a shiny is to soft-reset or just don't look for one. i was looking for latias and found a shiny zigzagoon and caught it. if you have the patience to soft reset then you have more patience then i do.

A + B + START + SELECT

Faster than pressing the ON/OFF button. It would be (most) useful for getting a shiny starter.
