Welcome to my world. I just ran into my first shiny a few days ago. it's really lucky if you run into one. Try chaining 40 pokemon together with the radar.

Uggg, Shinys, I really want a shiny too but they are really hard to get~! Plus the PokeRadar, 40 in a row is really hard to do too.

Get good popular pokemon to trade. Properly train desired EV train good natures and swing trades for shinies people might not want as much. Be willing to take one for your two or three if their shiny is a very desired one. Be willing to take shinies you already have in order to swing a package deal. Use the extras from the trade to trade for other shinies you want with others. Be flexable, make lots of offers to do deals and honor your word on agreed trades and appoinments. Make friends who like to trade with you and make deals that when you get something new that they'll shop it to you early on. Don't be afraid to clone or recieve clones. Cloned Pokemon are exactly the same as their originals. Pokemon cones are your friends do not fear or rebuke them. Stay dilligent and keep at it even if you have some unfruitfulk days or trades fall through.

This has worked for me. I've never caught one shiny in the last two generations (not from the lack of trying though) and in the last 10 days I have about massed 45 shiny pokemon from good deals from great people on this board.

No way would I be able to get a shiny without GTS and wifi trading.

Well first I get a nice glaceon on the GTS for a lvl 1 munchlax. Then someone on another forum wants one and he offers me a shony kabutops which I trade for a shiny eevee which i am debating to turn into an espeon or umbreon
