Shiny Hunting Problem?

Hey guys,

I've been shiny hunting a ponytail on Route 17 in Lets Go Eevee and am having no luck, so wanted advice. I have a catch combo of around 36 (know I only had to get to 31, but was so bored I kept going eventually) and I've been using lures. I've moved to new patches a few times, as have hunted this ponytail for about 8 hours all up with nothing. I've heard that with a 31+ combo and lure, the shiny encounter chance is 1/272 for all Pokemon within the area, but I haven't seen a single shiny so far.

Has anyone else experienced this? I'm wondering if I should turn my game off and restart my combo because there is a lag in the game, or maybe I'm just having downright terrible luck? I know that shiny hunting can take wayyyy longer than 8 hours, but with these good odds as well as the fact I've watched about 10,000 Pokemon spawn in this location, I'm so shocked I haven't seen any shinies.

If you do have the shiny Charm, then your probablity of 1/273, if you dont, is 1/315.
There is actually nothin wrong, and no trick for this. Pure Luck. I once spent 4 days looking for Hitmonchan. And my shiny Kangaskhan appeared in 25 minutes (Catch Combo of 13 actually).
Just pure luck
(btw, the probability doesnt exactly comes up. The game just does aditional rerolls of a shiny RNG)

Thanks man! I thought I was just really unlucky rather than it being a game issue, but wanted the experts opinions. It's getting pretty tiresome standing here and staring at the screen without progressing, but this is the game we play! Thanks again : )

It took me 4 days to get my first shiny Ponyta, playing for an hour in the morning and around 4 hours in the evening (so about 20 hours). I got my second on the same day I started hunting it. And this weekend I got 5 shinies in one day. It is just pure luck.

I managed to get it finally, about 2 hours after posting naturally. It's so frustrating sometimes, but so worth it afterwards! Good luck to everyone else : )
