Shiny Question

I fought a trainer in the Battle Pyramid who used a Shiny Kingdra. My question is, is that trainer's pkmn always shiny or did the game decide that it was time for me to encounter another shiny and the next pkmn I saw happened to be a trainers?

The game itself generated a shiny pokemon.

It's also good to note that the only time this happens is in the Battle Frontier. You won't see a Trainer anywhere else with a Shiny Pokemon.​

I think Frontier Trainer's team always random, so if you see a trainer use shiny, you may not see that trainer uses that next time you battling that trainer.
Anyway, I've just seen trainer with a shiny Espeon in the Battle Pike.

Shiny pokemon in the Battle Frontier is random,just like in the wild.But I remember in the Fr/Lg trainer tower,there's a shiny Espeon used by the first two trainers.(double mode)

Yeah, I just saw and used a shiny drowzee in the battlefrontier...sigh...

Anyway, I've just seen trainer with a shiny Espeon in the Battle Pike.

It´s not THAT random, most times near the brain battle the game makes a team to counter your´s. also some people uses a limited list of pokémon, the most obvious is dragon tamer, you´ll always see him using kingdra, aggron, salamence, lapras, sceptile, nidoking... most dragon looking pokémon, you´ll never see him using persian or metagross. also any trainer can use legendaries allowed there.

This also happened with me, but it was wild in pyramid. I´ll never forget those yellow eyes from a Claydol in the 5th floor...
