Pairing: Xellos/Filia (Slayers)
Comment: So this song has some obvious parallels because since Xellos is of the monster race and Filia is from the dragon race they're ancient enemies in the Slayers universe. Both are devoted to their races (though Filia's faith in hers gets shaken) and any "shift in allegiance" would be pretty extreme, but nevertheless the two seem drawn together. I'd see Filia as being the 'infidel' in this song especially considering the lines "you can dream away your dark dreams" work well for Xellos since he's a monster.

Comment: Okay, obviously I'm once again harping on the Xellos-Wolf connection. Consider the speaker in the song to be Filia describing Xellos. She realizes that she's been much more under his control than she ever realized and tries to fight against it.

Xellos is a monster and is therefore is associated with... well, wickness in general. Take the deadly sin lines. He's also a liar, not in that he tells direct lies (because he usually doesn't) but he's insincere and manipulative.

...And given that the dragons and monsters have hated each other since the war of the monsters fall, the "dining with the enemy" line seems appropriate.

It randomly came to me as I was listening to it last week. I roleplay Caitlin and Bryony roleplays Dahlia and there was a seven month gap in which the two last saw each other. I imagined Dahlia singing it to Caitlin, ha ha.

Canonically it can work too ktnx. I see Caitlin as the shy, curious girl who stays in the Battle Castle, the one who only comes into the public eye when a challenger has earned a battle with Darach. Dahlia, social butterfly. Also take into context that it's a girl x girl relationship, the two are opposites and as Frontier Brains the public eye is constantly on them... and of course, Caitlin being how she is. No doubt there would be some secrecy to begin with!
