Also, I forgot to comment this... Sure, let Diana have a heckin' mythical, not like HZ isn't already handing legendaries like candy. Maybe Ludlow should get Keldeo or a Sword of Justice, heck, give Xerneas to Mollie to help keep everyone healed, the writers wouldn't care, everyone needs a legend!!!

Wouldn’t it be cool if they caught some titan pokemon to complete the 18 types of strong pokemon they need? That could be a nice tie-in and a way to bring Arven into the story. Nemona or Penny could be like “Hey, we know someone who might be able to help you gather some strong pokemon” and then they can call Arven for help. He could explain to them where to find them and even help battle them since many battles in horizons are a group effort anyway.
Oh that would be pretty cool, actually. Arven could be tracking Herba Mystica and they'd find powerful Pokemon with his help.

But also, I still don't fully believe they'll dedicate multiple episodes to catching new Pokemon. I'm skeptical.

(You just said something so weird.)
I can kind of understand why Arven was ignored, his whole plot from the games ends and he really doesn't have anything else except cooking which unless he was going to be Murdock's prodigy, doesn't lend himself to the rest of the cast.

Nemona and Roy fit perfectly as battle buddies, Dot and Penny got the whole loner tech girl connection, while Arven and Liko have nothing in common except maybe making curry and sandwiches.
This is such a strange reverse "stay in the kitchen" on a guy who has suffered far more than what he lets on and has more character.

If that is the reason why he wasn't allowed in, what's the excuse for Amaris, Crispin, and Kieran being reduced to mute kids (and Carmine never mentioning her brother by name). They had far more of a reason to be important and yet...

Since Arven's deal is about parental issues, he could've played a better role at it with Liko and her family. Even Dot would work. Hell, even Roy could work since he kind of doesn't even care much his parents went into the sunrise so Arven could've said something there (which won't happen because the anime isn't really big on heavy themes).

It’s not that I mind Pecharunt’s role in this episode particularly. I’m sure it’ll be used as the tera type representative to end Rakurium and all

It’s just this episode reminded me how vanilla and discarded the game elements in the anime are and that makes me sad

Which game elements?

Kitakami Plot as a whole for starters, Ogerpon and Lousy Three’s whole story.
Also,
The event this episode adapts works so well in the games coz of the characterisation of all the rival characters we have, all of which is absent in HZ. The anime versions of Nemona, Penny and Carmine are easily the worst versions compared to any of the other mediums.

And finally, we get hints of what could have been a much better episode when they glossed over Pecharunt’s backstory which isnt really well shown outside of a YT video and a potential fun episode of Diana and Hamber hjinks in Kitakami could have been great as well

Something I noticed is the Pokémon that got mind controlled by Pecharunt didn’t look like they were under it aside from the chains in them. It’s makes it seem less like they’re under mind control and more they did it because why not.

The last time I saw anything Momotaro-related, it was a Studio Ghibli film...that I immediately left in the first 10 minutes for surprise nudity.

Mother of god with all of you...

They gave literally (and unexpectedly) gave sense to the strong Pokémon Diana fought (who ended joining more for own desire than the battle) and make it useful to the plot, showing us in the process her unseen adventure with an underrated character like Hamber, in a funny adaptation (that wasn't a dull exact copy from the games) some of you yearned so much about a specifical Mythical Pokémon lore... And you come to just trash it for not bringing up some extra legendaries? ... REALLY?!

I know not everyone has to like it, but if one is going to talk about writing, then you should at least examine your own arguments XD.

If you ask me, this series has trivialized the special-ness of Legendary and Mythical Pokemon.

This series literally had 10% Zygarde knocked out by a single Self-Destruct from Glalie.....that pretty much tells the story.
