It seems that most members here probably know that the Battle Pyramid and its leader, Pyramid King Brandon, will be the last Frontier facility and Brain Ash will face---possibly the capper of the whole Frontier period, even.

Which gets us to the topic: Since he's going to be the top Frontier Brain (and slightly because he uses them in the game) should he have Legendaries? And if so, which set of three?

I say no. The fact that Noland had a 'befriended' wild Articuno to fight Ash with was pathetic, especially when you consider all the other Pokémon Noland had in his possession. Brandon could construct a dang good team of rare Pokémon or even the fossils without resorting to Legendaries.

No.
Prehistoric pokémon would fit the bill, as they also have that element of mystery and power. Of course seldom seen pokémon or those that are considered as naturally strong ie. Tyranitar or Salamence are fine options too.

Yeah, ok!

For the record Noland wasn't going to use Articuno to battle. Ash wanted to battle Articuno, which is why Noland battled with it. If I'm remembering correctly, Noland wanted to use his own Pokemon.

The point is he shouldn't have had it in the first place. Again, how many people have used Legendaries in the anime. (And I thought the birds were one of a kind to the Orange Islands?) That isn't the topic of this thread so I'll leave it there.

CyberCubed

Yeah, ok!
There are multiple legendaries of the birds. As for Noland having it, is it such a bad thing to try something original in the anime for once?

On topic, I'd be content if Brandon just had some of the strongest Pokemon of each gen like Dragonite/Tyranitar/Salamence/Gardevoir/Aerodactyl/etc.

You're right, I just remembered the Johto ep with Zapdos.....still though, it seemed like a bad plot device for Noland to have Articuno. We're not going to go anywhere, so I'll rest it there.

I can picture him having an Aerodactyl, definitely. Perhaps they could unite all the fossil Pokémon into one team, if they go with that.

I think Brandon first of all if he recieves a legendary it be the regis. Three things I'd like to see though is first a good reason why Brandon has them, they should have a backstory or at least a better story than the 8th movie, and the third the regis should make a good fight. I hate to sound one of the sevii island weirdos but if the pyramid were there it would work well. Unown and brandon work well 1st of all. They could have unown and regis somehow related since there are ruins and all maybe they could relocate the regis tomb to in the sevi islands. If Brandon doresnt get a legendary then I expect we'll see superpowerful or ancient pokemon. I'd like to see powerful pokemon that arent used often. Extinct pokemon IMO would be good if Armaldo and Cradily were there.

What he said. Anabel si getting Metagross though making the chances of that seem slimmer. Though I would love to see this to be his team:

Salamence
Tyranitar
Dragonite

Even though he would have two dragons, they all have higher stats then legends themselves yet not so menacing.

I really wouldn't mind as long as i get to see a good battle.

But i would really like his team to be:

Aerodactyl
Salamence
Tyranitar
Gardevoir(if anabel doesnt have one, still hoping for her to have one in the rematch)
Kabutops
Umbreon

Magus

Fog Trainer
Absolutely not. Even though in some cases they're more common than in the games, Legendaries are a much bigger deal in the anime. We've seen many cases to show that capturing a Legendary is, even if you can pull it off, a bad idea. Having one character befriend a Legendary and use it in battle is okay, but it should be an extremely unusual occurance. Another character befriending three of them would be way too much. There are plenty of mysterious and powerful non-Legendary Pokémon that Brandon can use.

For that matter, having Ash beat three Legendary Pokémon in a single battle would going way too far. Especially since if he somehow managed to do that, it would be ridiculous for him to ever lose a future battle.

That sounds dynamite.

As for the poll: **** no to Legendaries.

He should. But there's just one legend and I hope it'll be Regice
He's the last person Ash has to face so I alo hope he'll be the strongest

no. We had Noland with articuno, why do we want another brain with legendaries

No. And definitely not the Regis. They bore me off the face of the earth.

Maybe. I'd love seeing the Regis in action.
But a team of superstrong Pokemon would be nice, too.
Like:
Armaldo
Aerodactyl
Nidoking
Tyranitar
and a couple others.
At the very least, Aerodactyl and Nidoking. Better yet, Nidoqueen.

Aerodactyl is a must, IMO. It's one of the Pokémon whose status in the anime is similar to the Legendaries in the game: exceedingly rare and very strong, but not so much so that the notion of a trainer capturing it is absurd.
