Should Legendaries be able to breed?

I say, YES GAMEFREAK! 'Bout time already! Legends DO breed as evident by the anime, so all I want to know is you guys' opinions on this...not-so-famous-not-so-commonly-debated-debate :)

Manaphy and Phione can breed, and no they shouldn't be able to breed because it would take away their rarity.

Also just because they breed in the Animé doesn't mean they should in the game, remember the Animé is based off the game, ergo the Animé follows the game not the other way round.

I say only the less rare pokemon can breed, like zapdos or something. The good ones (by anime standards) should not be able to breed, like zekrom or rayquaza.

Inability to breed is part of what makes them legendary (Manaphy/Phione broke that trend, so it's not the only trait of legendaries, but generally they don't). It makes them harder to get.

That's just what I was thinking.

That would severely reduce the value of legendaries. They're supposed to be one-of-a-kind. In order to emphasize how rare their species is, only one legendary per species can be found in each game. Making them breed-able would defeat the purpose of their rarity. Besides, it only follows logically that a species unable to breed in captivity would be rare in the wild.

I'll prefer if they have gender, but no breeding please.

Some do. Tornadus/Landorus/Thunderus/Latios are all male, and Latias/Cresselia are female, while Heatran can be either.

Gender less pokemon make no sense, especially when they can breed.... (porygon)

Possibly certain Legendaries, under certain conditions...
Such as Latios and Latias can breed if a condition is met.
Other than that, I would rather not ruin the rarity of the Pokemon.

Legendaries can breed.

They just can't breed in captivity.

(Sees newly hatched Rayquaza) WHYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY?! Btw, if legendaries could breed, what would they breed with? I don't see Lugia and Salamence gettin' it 'awn any time soon.

No, I don't think Legendary Pokemon should breed. It will take away their rarity, and in a few years most (if not all) the people who trade using Wi Fi are likely to get it, because they'll trade a Legendary egg for another Legendary egg. We should just keep to the way things are, however I find the fact that Pokemon included Genderless Pokemon a bit scary.

Yeah, I think this is getting beaten down into the ground. This probably should go in polls too.

But at any rate, I really don't think Legendaries should be able to breed. I mean, if they could, heck. They're not so Legendary now, are they? Even the ones with Genders; they predominantly do it out of significance. There's usually a reason behind their genders, so I wouldn't use that as basis on them being able to breed.
