Should there be a general game forum?

Lets face-it. Half the the threads in the General Pokemon Discussion are games.

Here are two examples on the first page;

So, my question is, why does the game section lack a general game discussion? After all, TCG and Anime have general discussions. Games however are restricted to what set they are in (either other games or generation, however the 3rd generation consumes three forums, RSE, FrLg, and XD/PC)

Because they're supposed to go in General Pokémon Discussion, or in their respective section in the games department. D:
The first one isn't a game either, IMO. It's a thread asking you to make your own elite 4 member.

Indeed, they are meant to go in the respective forums of the game in question. You can't post in GD asking about movesets and expect people to know which game you are talking about. There have been several, and posting RBY movesets when people are expecting FRLG is silly. The same would happen in a general games forum. Unless people started to say "This is with regards to RS", in which case, why not ask it in RS?

Actually general game topics are the only thing that goes in the GPD other then general Pokemon topcis (like your favorite Pokemon).

And we have a general 3rd generation RMT.

I said "hence the levels." Anime nor TCG have levels. The ideal of it being an E4 is fine.

The only problem I see with this idea is the space required. Serebii himself said this site wasn't cheap and more space costs $$$. Other than that I think it's a good idea. ;025;

It will talk the same amount of space. All what is happening is making home for different kinds of threads. This isn't going to be that big of a memory increase. Maybe 5 stickies or so.

More space could be saved if people used stickies instead of creating threads to be closed, and if people wouldn't minimod by saying

Wrong section/Wrong Topic/This is Spam

When they could simply use that triangle button.

If I were you I would make "dummy" sticky threads and send them to Serebii. Show him how this forum would be useful to the forums. Make it a business letter and send it to him.

No need. Each forum should have 3 pages if everyone used a sticky when possible. Only a few forums actually need to exceed that amount, most being of the other forums. The forums would be much smaller if everyone used stickies at every given moment. Likewise, the stickies would need to be created a lot more.

Part of the fun of this site is the fact that normal members can make threads. I am sure moderators don't want to do all the work. ;025;
