Well like Eszett said there aren't gonna be new types, but an angel pokemon is OK not a type just a pokemon.

It has been Officially announced that there will be NO new types. For your purposes the light type is just the psychic type. Adding a new type will only mess up the games type system and will ruin everyone's hidden power raised pokemon.

And Light type would be interesting, but then you'd have to change the types (well add-on) of previous Pokémon.

True, there won't be any new types in this generation, but that doesnt mean it could happen in the future after the 4th generation is completely out. Plus, I think a light type is good. I've got it in a list of fake types that I'm using in my fake games. I've already made a listing of all the current Pokémon with element modifications on quite a few of them:

Suicune: Water/Wind
Castform: Wind
Latias& Latios: Light
Igglybuff & Evos: Sound
Kabuto, Omanyte,Anorith & Lileep: Fossil
Deoxys: Space
Porygon & Porygon 2: Virtual
Jirachi: Star
Mewtwo & Mew: Myth

I've also modified some Pokémon so that they are triple type mixtures:
Tentacool: Wate/Electric/Poison
Ledyba: Bug/Light/Flying
Dustox: Bug/Dark/Poison

well... that is true... but this forum is for discussing Diamond and Pearl only and since it has been announced that it won't happen then your point is moot. Anyways, all the types that people are proposing are just extensions of previous typings anyways.

wind=flying
bird=flying
fossil=rock
sound=normal

If they do make extra types (which I doubt) the only one that makes sense is Light. And if they do, they would not add the type to already created Pokemon. Eszett's thread states that there will be no Triple typed Pokemon or new types in this generation. If they wanted to add other types, they probably would have added them in the 3rd Generation. And personally, the Normal type is not the Light type.
