i was wondering, who here is sick of the game developers making almost twice as many water pokemon as any other type (well maybe except for nomal).
i am also sick of them making the water pokemon, of the beginers, the better choice.

squirtle was the better choice because of atacks and leveling.
totadile was better because of the gyms you have to face
mudkip was better because of the alternative dark and normal attacks it could learn later in its life.

so who else is sick of all of the water favortism???

ps: any complaints about the games are welcomed here

. . .
Yeah I am. GameFreak needs to make moree types like Dragon, Fire, Dark and Steel. I only use Water types for Surfing or filling up my Dex.

The water type starters are the worst, not the better choice. BUlbasaur is the best of the Kanto region, Cyndaquil is the best of the Johto region, and Mudkip's evolutions turn into a Water/Ground type, which makes it twice super effective from grass types

And is also the best starter ever (Hi cursepert) and pwns every GYM and E4 member there is, since none of them use the grass type as their main type. ¬¬

And I agree. :\ It's too f*cking annoying. -___- Especially in Hoenn, where you still had to do a lot of surfing. >_<; I don't know why they love water so much.

Not to mention making water pokemon broken.

Back I guess??
What of those you find in more quantity in the World? Water, forest or volcanoes? What we need the most to survive, water, muscles, bugs or steel?
Those 2 answers the big quantity of water pokés (I think)

I see nothing wrong with the water pokés.

totodile was better because of the gyms you have to face
1st gym: flying. 2nd: bug, 3rd, normal, 4th, ghost, 5th, steel, 6th, fighting, 7th, ice, 8th dragon.
Let´s see, chicorita loses in 3 and wins in 0 due to defense typing and loses in 5 and win in 0 due to attacking typing
Totodile loses in 0 and wins in 1 due to defense typing and loses in 2 and wins in 0 due to attacking typing
cyndaquil loses in 0 and wins in 2 due to defense typing and loses in 1 and wins in 3 due to atacking typing.

So I think that cyndaquil was the best choice.

Y HALO THAR SUICUNE. ¬¬ All the water pokemon with high SP. Defensea re broken, since they only have two weakneses, which are both special. Where's the weakness to Poison, huh? It not only makes sense, but it would balance things A LOT.

If that was the case, we would have a shitload of BUG pokemon, not water ones.

No.
Chikorita wins in alot more because wrath, swine, dewgong, etc. are weak to it. -.-
Regarding more bugs: There are lots of bugs because they're small, and can reproduce quickly and fit more in. =/ Pokemon bugs are big.

So what if there are alot of water pokemon? Does it really bother you that when you surf tentacool isn't only thing you battle? I personally enjoy all of the water types that exist. I am glad that there aren't 40 million different dragon pokemon because I personally dragon is a useless type. Well maybe that is just my opinion.

Water is an important type in the games, there hasn't been a 2D RPG game yet where you haven't had to Surf somewhere at least once. There's a lot of variety to choose what Pokémon you want to use as your Surfer, and Water types bring along some of the greatest Pokémon in today's metagame.

Normal isn't that far behind Water, and they're not as important to the games as Water types are. Normal does bring along some good creatures like Tauros, Snorlax and Slaking but a lot of them are underused compared to some other types.

I do feel some of the other types need more attention such as Fire; but if D/P isn't the last Pokémon game (which I doubt it is), I imagine they'll develop some of the other types eventually.

And just to add, Water starters generally give the game a Medium difficulty.

There are a lot of creatures that live in the water in the real world.

I think you people are forgetting that this game was made in Japan. Japan is an island! That's right, surrounded by water! Primarily most of the life you will find there besides humans is sea related. That's why they're so well known for their sushi. That's what they got, so they make the best of it. Same with Pokemon, its a staple of their culture by now. If they didn't have all these creative water Pokemon it wouldn't be a Japanese RPG. Plus look at all the different variety of sealife species, much more to build on than say mammals.

I'm all for realism, but not only is it starting to become an issue of balance, it also raises a great deal of variety problems.

You know, maybe if they just changed it up a bit. You know, I wouldn't mind if they did more with the type. I like Ludicolo's typing a lot, but what about a Fire/Water that lives in hot springs and geysers? Or, make another Water/Bug, but one that keeps the typing? Just my thought.

And do you want to know why that is?

Its because with the exception of invertibrates, there is more life in the water then there is on the land. Its just easier to create water pokemon because there are many different species in the seas and oceans.
