Is it just me, or are there quite a bit of similarities in the games? I mean take this for example, Pochama and Torchic are both based on a bird. Hikozaru and Torchic evolve into a fire/fighting type. Celebi, Jirachi, and Manafi all end in i (not a big thing, BUT they are all special event pokemon!) I ran out but I might find more.
If you people found similarities post them here

k, yeah. Probably nintendo thinks they need to be familiar to sell. So yeah, mine oppinion.

Meowth->Persian, Skitty->Delcatty, and Nyaruma->Bunyatto are all kitty cat Pokemon with a two staged evolution line and of the Normal type found around the beginning to middle of the game and usually in different game versions. :p

Theres bound to be some similarities theres only so much that can be done but the bird thing yeah ones a penguin one a little chicken...

There are bound to be a ton of similarities in Pokemon, as many are based on real life animals and myths.

I personally think that Sneasel and Misdreavus are similar. Yes i'm being serious. Both Johto Pokemon, both got an evolution in D/P, both found around Mt Silver in G/S, both based on myths, both with evil tendencies. Et voila.

Bulbasaur and Naetoru look alike.Eevee and Skitty too...
