Singles Rate & Moveset Request Thread

    About This Thread

And here we go again; New generation, new thread. Ask for single movesets or advice on a single Pokémon and you'll get an answer here. You may ask for multiple (reasonable numbers, please) movesets at one time, but do not ask us to rate them as a team, or part of one. You should create your own thread for that.

But this one's slightly different. I plan to take every good moveset posted in this thread and index them alphabetically in this, and the following, posts. The idea is to create an easy-to-read list of decent Pokémon movesets without having to search through the thread, or having to ask for movesets already created. Or to just draw your own inspiration from.

If anyone finds any problems or mistakes, then please feel free to send me a Visitor Message or a Private Message.

    As a little added note,

That said, go on, post away!

  3. YOOMTAH

    YOOMTAH Let's dance~

    I love this thread. \o/
Is it for ratings too? If so, here is a Kirikizun set, because Kirikizun is cool:

    Kirikizun @ Focus Sash
    Inner Focus
    Adamant nature, 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 Spe
    - Metal Burst
    - Iron Head
    - Sucker Punch
    - Stealth Rock

Little leadset. Punishes and Machamp/antilead who pops up, does quite a nice job against Taunt leads, and is able to lay Rocks when facing bulky leads.

Btw, for you list, I think you might list the role too. And because the list might become quite big, here's a nice smaller format wich I saw in competitive 4th gen, and wich I find to be very handy:
    Pokémon @ Item | Ability
    Nature| EVs
    Move 1 | Move 2 | Move 3 | Move 4

  4. Soroft

    Soroft Cat and Mouse

    Here's a fun one.

    Jaroda @ Life Orb
    Lonely/Naughty / Perversity
    Insert EVs here.
    Leaf Storm
    Iron Tail
    Giga Drain
    Dragon Tail / HP Ground

The main idea is this: Leaf Storm + Perversity = Win. A powerful attack as well as the Perverse boost instead of the loss, and you have titanic momentum. Giga Drain is for the main STAB, as well as regaining health due to its low defenses, and the Life Orb damage if people decide this set is actually good. Dragon Tail becomes a pretty decent back-up for its uncovered weaknesses, but HP Ground will hit harder after a Leaf Storm boost and the SE damage. No idea about a mixed EV set like this, I was thinking max Sp. Attack since it's an Attack beneficial nature, but.

    Ononokusu @ Muscle Band
    Jolly / Mold Breaker
    252 Atk / 252 Spe / 4 Hp
    Dragon Claw / Outrage
    Swords Dance
    Rock Slide
    Earthquake / Iron Tail

Welcome, people, to the newest Garchomp. Now with half the Ice weakness! Mold Breaker is pretty win, and Iron Tail is only up there to help cover weaknesses.

Really, I'm only posting these to make history. 8D

  5. YOOMTAH

    YOOMTAH Let's dance~

In my opinion, Jaroda wants a RestTalk set with Leaf Storm.
    Jaroda @ Life Orb
    Naïve / Perversity
    252 HP, 220 Spe, 36 Atk
    - Leaf Storm
    - Dragon Tail
    - Rest
    - Sleep Talk
Outspeeds Infernape, allthough that might be quiet useless unless you're able to switch him out with TailTalking (hey that sounds funny).

About Ononokusu, poor speed wants Dragon Dance.
Ononokusu @ Muscle Band / Life Orb
    Adamant / Mold Breaker
    252 Atk / 140 Spe / 116 HP
    - Dragon Dance
    - Outrage
    - Earthquake
    - Rock Slide
1 Dragon Dance gives it enough speed to outspeed base 130s and a nice Attack stat of 648. Give that a Life Orb and it will become an Attack stat of 972. That is a nice Garchomp my friend.

  6. Revenent

    Revenent Doryuuzu Trainer

I was thinking of a good moveset for Hihidaruma.

    Hihidaruma@Choice Band
    Adamant|Encourage
    252 Atk/252 Speed
    -Flare Blitz
    -Superpower
    -U-Turn
    -Earthquake

This moveset takes full advantage of Hihidaruma's 140 Base attack and average 95 Base Speed.

Flare Blitz has 180 Base Damage thanks to STAB, + the Boost from Choice Band=Ownage

    Superpower is Powerful anyway.

U-Turn is great for quickly switching out if brought out by a phazer (Roar, Whirlwind etc).

Earthquake is for reliable coverage over rocks although superpower has that covered anyway =/ Still...

So yeah, this is (most certainly) the moveset my Hihidaruma will have for leading the battle.

    Edit:

    Heres another good one:

    [IMG] @ Choice Band/Scarf
    Adamant|Regeneration
    252 Atk/252 Speed
    -High Jump Kick
    -U-Turn
    -Stone Edge
    -Drain Punch/Fake Out

High Jump Kick skyrockets to an amazing 260 Power with STAB and Choice Band but its very risky...

U-Turn works wonders with Regeneration. U-Turn takes care of Psychic types.

Stone Edge takes care of Flying types and has high crit ratio.

Last slot is your choice, Fake Out if you want to get some damage then switch but i prefer the option of Drain Punch.

Or maybe even a more physical approach such as:

    [IMG] @ Expert Belt
    Adamant|Regeneration
    252 Atk/252 Speed
    -Drain Punch
    -U-Turn
    -Stone Edge
    -Swords Dance

Same as above for U-Turn and Stone Edge but Drain Punch helps restore a lot of HP with 112.5 power (STAB)

Swords Dance is good if you want to stay in with Drain Punch or Stone Edge and can help you take out Psychic types at the cost of your Attack boost (U-Turn)

I prefer the Second moveset personally and thats what Kat will have (look at my Sig)

    Sazando@Choice Scarf/Leftovers

    ~Cheer Up?

  9. Revenent

    Revenent Doryuuzu Trainer

You can't use Cheer Up and Choice Scarf at the same time.

I would recommend a moveset like this:

    Sazando@Choice Specs
    Modest|Levitate
    252 SpAtk/252 Speed
    -Dragon Pulse
    -Dark Pulse
    -Fire Blast
    -Surf

Thats my Trent's Moveset (Look at my signature)

  10. YOOMTAH

    YOOMTAH Let's dance~

OMYGOSH THAT IS HORRIBLE O_O Trade Sleep Talk TM from 4th generation maybe? D: Well, nevermind on that set then. It would have been very solid though...

    Jaroda @ Salac Berry
    Lonely / Perversity
    252 Spe / 252 Atk / 4 SpAtk
    - Leaf Storm
    - Dragon Tail
    - Wring Out
    - Substitute

Maybe? Don't have some good ideas now...

Oh and on Ononokusu, I said Life Orb gave it 972, I meant 842, wich still is amazingly high for one Dragon Dance.

  11. YOOMTAH

    YOOMTAH Let's dance~

    Oh look at this!

    Lead Hitmonlee @ Focus Sash
    Unburden
Lonely, 252 Atk / 252 Spe (0 HP IVs is preferred)
    - Reversal
    - Close Combat
    - Blaze Kick / Earthquake
    - Pursuit / Earthquake

    It's an antilead! :D
Close Combat is main attack, Blaze Kick is coverage.
Reversal is speedy Focus Pawnch when lost Focus Sash.
Pursuit is for ghosts/Shanderaa, but Earthquake might come in handy.

  12. Super Nerd 7997

Super Nerd 7997 Crazy Plant Guy

Unless you had some Magic Room support.

  13. Revenent

    Revenent Doryuuzu Trainer

I put Earthquake and Pursuit in bold as the ones you should use.

Earthquake is preferable for Shanderaa because more base power.

    Reversal+Focus Sash=Ownage :D

All in all its a great anti-lead moveset. :D

  14. Bardische

    Bardische Elegance.

So as long as it's a valid, legal, and totally reasonable set, it's good? Okay then.

Before I go on, let me ask a question:

If androids dream of electric sheep, then what the hell dreams of the Vegetable Lamb of Tartary?

This is my personal Erufuun set I've been using competitively. To be honest, when I saw Mischievous Heart and Taunt I said "LEAD". So, here's a lead Erufuun :O

Also, this has more emphasis on some moves than on the thread I just created earlier. Take note, please.

    Whimsical Ball of Cotton :D
    Erufuun @ Focus Sash/Wide Lens
Nature: Timid/Jolly (whatever the hell, as long as it increases speed. But you're better off going for Jolly. Will be explained)
    Ability: Mischievous Heart
    - Any status moves (like Leech Seed and Substitute) gain +1 priority. Helpful indeed, right?
    EVs: 252 Hp, 252 Speed, 4 Sp.Def

    Moveset:
    - Taunt
    - Leech Seed
    - Substitute/Grasswhistle/Encore
    - U-Turn/Sunny Day

    * The flagship of the set. A Taunt that will leave your sponge or wall helpless is a good reason to use Erufuun in the first place. Shutting down other leads like Aerodactyl and Azelf without the worry of them going first is also a plus.
    * Leech Seed is annoying. Really. Grass-types or anything with Magic Guard are sometimes uncommon.
    * Substitute is one thing, but creating one after your previous sub just got broken? Yay! Basically, this will annoy your opponent more.
    * Grasswhistle is another thing. So many options, no? The accuracy is something to frown at, but Wide Lens will "help'. Really. No joke. Watch out for Sleep Talkers. Since that it isn't a TM, I guess you shouldn't worry too much.
    * Encore is annoying as well.
    * U-Turn would get you out of a situation where in you've been Taunted (by another Erufuun, most likely), a Vital Spirit anything, a Mixed Wallbreaker (like Speed Boost Blaziken), a random Wallbreaker (like Cloyster or Chillachino) and a Grass-type (like Celebi or the potentially useful Birijion)
    * Otherwise, if you plan to use a Sunny Day team, the namesake move can help.
    * To be honest, maximum Speed ensures Erufuun be the fastest user of Mischievous Heart, and since most pokemon would end up priority-bashing this thing because their Taunt is slower, like maybe Rohpushin, who learns both Mach punch and Taunt. Basically, Erufuun is, as of the moment, and thanks to its ability, the fastest user of Taunt in the game.

    Chloro-fuun = Chlorofun!
    Erufuun @ Heat Rock
    Nature: Jolly
    Ability: Chlorophyll/Mischievous Heart
    EVs: 252 Sp.Atk, 252, Spd, 4 Hp

    Moveset:
    - Sunny Day
    - Hidden power Fire/Ground
    - Encore/Taunt
    - U-Turn/Solarbeam

    * The point of the set is to set up Sunny Day for your Sunny Day team. In most cases, Lead Erufuun would play better, and if you go for Mischievous Heart on this set, it would like an uglier version of the set up there.
    * Chlorophyll doubles Erufuun's amazing speed.
    * Fire Hp, is sorta okay. Steel-types? Yeah. Heatran? No. Go for Ground, in most cases. You're not gonna stay around long, anyway.
    * Encore and Taunt are both to help you set up easy. Along with Mischievous Heart, it will help out a lot.
    * U-Turn again. And Solarbeam, just in case you're gutsy enough to even stay fighting on a base 77 Special Attack.

Okay, there goes my ideas for the night. I hope you guys can get to analyze and criticize better. I know you guys can make it worthwhile :O

I'd say Dragon Claw > Outrage, as this Pokémon's HP isn't spectacular and Outrage is too likely to cause confusion, and therefore force switches. Also, with that mental Base Atk and Dragon Dance, any attack-boosting items become fairly redundant imo. Leftovers seems the better option here.

If this goes down well with everyone, I'll edit it into the OP.

Looking good. Draco Meteor is an option over Dragon Pulse or one of the non-stab moves, but with something as powerful as Sazando, idk if it's really all that needed, especially when Dragon Pulse gets such ample coverage anyway.

As before, editing this into the OP unless anyone takes issue with it.

Ononokusu can't probably afford to get hit much, wich is why we focus on a speedgoal at +1 and not +4 and why I recommend to focus on doing as much damage as possible at +1. Wich is why I chose Outrage as well, but because of its unreliability like you said you can prefer Dragon Claw. You can just list it as 'Dragon Claw / Outrage' methinks. As well as for Dragon Pulse / Draco Meteor.

Another one, before someone takes it.

    Cloyster @ Leftovers
    Jolly / Skill Link
    252 Atk / 252 Spe / 4 Hp
    -Shell Break
    -Icicle Spear
    -Rock Blast
    -Poison Jab / Shell Blade

Because Cloyster just got fifty times better. Who wants to proof it?

^ Shell Blade > Poison Jab any day; you already have Icicle Spear to kill off Grass types anyway.

As for the EVs, you might as well as set yourself a target to outspeed, and it might as well as be a fast one since you won't be doing very much defending at all. Electrode is still your fastest threat, and you can deal with the 0 HP ones pretty easily at +2 Atk, so. 132 Spe EVs get you past that threat quite nicely.

You may also want to consider having the Life Orb > Leftovers since this will be a literal case of 'come in and kill stuff'.

I'll edit this one in if everything's cool with you.

I put Leftovers on > Life Orb purely because that one turn of set up and such can really annoy you with the recoi. Leftovers helps recover from some of it, while still making Cloyster a titanic sweeper with Shell Break. With that in mind, the EVs look good, considering Electrode will indeed be the only real threat to outspeed. Dump the others into Hp, I guess.
