Attention Pokemon fans, Many people in this forum have asked "Where is Shinou?" Well, Shinou is confirmed to be the island of Hokkaido, Japan.
But, before I get to the geography lesson, here are some questions that need answering.
1.) Is Johto near Shinou?
No. It's on the other side of Japan from the main island of Japan you call Johto.
2.) Can you travel to other regions?
Nope. No way and no how. Shinou's all we're gettin'.
When more news becomes availible or other questions asked, this thread'll be answered. The Mods here have asked that all conversation about Shinou be here. As for the geography lesson:
Each region in the Pokemon games is based on a real region of Japan.
Kyushu: Hoenn turned 90 degrees matches it.
Kanto/Johto: The main Island of Japan. There is a real Kanto region.
Shinou: Hokkaido. Confirmed by Coro Coro.
Here's a map:
As you can see, the regions correlate with the maps in the game. Hoenn is Honshu and waaay up in the north is Shinou.
And here is the official map of Shinou.
There's no need to repost it now.
