Night Terror
"We don't know exactly when zero event will be, but it is approximately one month from the point you are being returned to."

An explosion rocked the complex. Sirens blared and security screens were being quickly destroyed by flares and bullets. The gate to the past wavered as vibrations passed through it. The vision of the unscathed past flickered and began to give way. Radios burst to life with static, and reports came in that soldiers were storming the lab. Someone had been tracked, or were they a traitor to other mutants?

"Hurry, we don't have much time. The explosions have knocked out key power systems, you'll likely be separated from each other on arrival, but you should be able to sense when others are nearby. Go, hurry!"

The doors were being hit from outside, people trying to get in. Johto forces? kanto? Who knows. The door bulged and began to melt as combinations of rock and fire pokemon threatened it's structure. Tobias took one last look back and stepped through, just as the doors exploded open. As he fell through nothingness, his life flashed before his eyes, in painfully accurate detail. he felt everything other again. The stress on his body and mind threatened to tear him to pieces. Unable to take it anymore, he slipped into unconciousness, unsure if he would ever wake again.

A loud crash brought Tobias around. He jumped up, spinning around to find the source of the noise, only to find himself disorientated and confused. He was surrounded by cliff faces, but they were just regular pale rock cliffs. No mortar burns or signs of explosions. So where did the crash come from. Another cracking sound came from around the side of the mountain. Curious, Tobias cautiously followed the rocky edge around, staying close to it to avoid being seen. He looked around the corner to see two kids standing out in the open, one with bright pink hair up in spikes, and the other with spikes seemingly sticking out of his neck. Tobias didn't feel anything from them. People used to dress like this out by choice?

"Go Sneasel! Ice Slash!" the guy with the spikes shouted. A black blur shot out from beside him.

"Bagon Counter!" the girl with the hair returned.

The blur shot past a small dumpy creature with purple skin. It bit out quickly, and grabbed the blur, slowing it to a stop. A feline creature with long claws slashed across it's face, sending chunks of ice spraying everywhere. It retaliated by tossing the cat into the air and then kicking it away as it fell.

"Dude, your pokemon sucks!" the girl shouted, as the boy pat the creature he'd called Sneasel gently on the head.

Pokemon? Amazing. Tobias turned away from the battle, and closed his eyes. He took deep breaths as he attempted to focus He really had been sent back. He took a good look around. The white rocks, the mountainous region, the thin fresh air. He guessed it was around the Blackthorn area in Johto. He'd passed through, albeit briefly due to it being an encampment.

"Hey buddy! How about you try and take on my dragon?"

Tobias turned around to see the girl with the pink hair standing behind him, the pokemon she called Bagon, sitting at her feet.

"Leave me alone." Tobias said, turning and walking away, not sure where he was actually going.

"Hey, don't just turn away pal, if you can't handle battling me just admit it. You suck too. You just can't face up against a dragon, doesn't matter what you use."

Tobias turned around and stared at the pokemon. The pokemon stared back, then began to shiver and moved away. The air was beginning to get colder, and Tobias knew why. He was feeding hate into the air, and that hate was manifesting itself as an even icier disposition. Even the girl was starting to feel it too. Tobias turned away and left her alone, shivering. He knew that the route up to the Tohjo mountains was close, but there wasn't a hidden lab there at this time. In a month, the dark cloud would originate from it's peak, but if it were to get to that point, there'd be no chance of stopping history repeating itself. There had to be other forces at work.

The scientists spoke of old underground black markets, run by ruthless corporate men, thieves and villains. They had some ridiculous name to identify themselves, but they were prime candidates for the cause of the cloud. Apparently they once had a base of operations in Goldenrod, so that was where Tobias was heading. He hopped down a rock and started making his way further down the steep mountain slope. On his way, he encountered hikers, taking the more difficult route up, and other people with pokemon, hunting through the long grass and caves for more to keep. This was even less like Orre than history said Orre once was. Before the war. A desert where practically no wild pokemon lived. If any, there were about nine or ten different species living on the entire continent. This place, there was life everywhere. The distractions caused Tobias' mind to wander, and his concentration on his surroundings wavered. A loose rock beneath his foot caused him to slip.

He fell down the mountain, rolling over sharp rocks and bumping his arms and legs against the hard floor. Something grabbed a hold of his shoulder to stop him moving any further. He looked up, finding a serpent like creature with a body made of iron, it's tail wrapped around his shoulder, tight enough to keep grip, but not so tight as to tear the joint out of it's socket. From the look of it, it only wouldn't have any problem doing the latter.

"Well done Steelix, you can put him down now."

Tobias became aware that he was being held over eight foot from the ground. had he fallen over that drop, he wouldn't have been getting up to quickly. He was lowered to his feet gently, where a short, but strong looking hiker was waiting.

"You ok there son? That was a nasty fall you took, losing your concentration on this route isn't a good thing."

"I can take care of myself." Tobias snapped.

"I'm not saying you can't, you were doing a pretty good job getting down. You're from Orre aren't you? I recognised your hiking style. Nice place, but a little too dry for my liking. Are you hurt?" the hiker asked, looking at Tobias' hands. The rough scales on he backs of his hands were visible where the glove had torn a little.

"No I.." Tobias wavered. "I um. Thanks, for your help I mean. I'm not used to seeing pokemon."

"Not surprising, Orre is well known for it's lack of them. Look, the bottom of the route isn't far, and you've gone past the worst. So just be careful ok?"

Tobias thanked the hiker, but made a quick get a way, as soon as he could. When there was no one around, he sat on a rock and pulled off the torn glove. The skin across the back of his hand was red raw and tender, around the existing scales. The scales themselves were rough, and hard, but they still had feeling there. He rolled up his sleeve, and saw that were he'd bumped his arms on the fall, there were patches of red tender skin. Maybe later they would become bruises, but he didn't expect them to. He pulled the glove back on as best he could, and started to scale the rest of the mountain.

"Hurry, get into the Time Machine before it shuts off and there will be no hope left for us!" said the sciencst.

Kev hurried to get into the portal said to supporitly take us back in time one month ago. Kev wasn't excatly sure if this thing would work but what choice did he have? Either jump through a portal, having no idea were it goes or get captured by soldiers and more then likely have a slow, painful death. Best choice to him would be the portal. He turned around from the expolisons and just into the door of light.

A field. Open, green field. The sun shown bright in the blue sky. Kev was standing in the middle of it. "Isn't this my field? The field I always trained in?" The wind gave a soft, gentle blow across the land. "Was this suppore to happen?" All of a sudden, a great pain gripped onto Kev. "AHHHHH! Whats happening?!" Kev got onto his knees and gripped the sides of his ribs. "Ahhh...the pain...." Kev, usually able to take alot, couldn't handle this. It, the pain, was too much. Kev soon collasped.

Kev woke up in a forest of some sort. He was laying on the ground and slowly opened his eyes, only to see grass and tall trees all around him. "Urg...Where am I...?" Kev said to himself. "I didn't get captured did I? Am I back near the forest where I lived?" Kev used his arms and got himself to sit upright.

While Kev was just sitting, trying to figure out where he was, a bush rustled. Kev turned to see a young boy with a net of some sort. He had a straw hat on, with a loose fitting shirt and shorts. What could he possible be doing? What could he catch with that? As the boy was looking for whatever he was looking for, he spotted Kev.

"Hey mister. Are you looking for pokemon too? I'm searching for Bug pokemon. They're my favorite." said the young boy

"Pokemon? What are...O wait, those must be those "monsters" the history books had talked about. I remember there had been certain types of pokemon..." Kev said to himself with a blank look.

"Mister?" said the young boy

"Oh..umm...yeah, I've been looking but I'm been having rotten luck finding some." said Kev. So rotten, I never seen one in my life

All of a sudden, a green and pale yellow, mushroom thing jump out of one of the bushes. It was very short, only about 2 feet Kev guessed. "Awesome! A Shroomish! Here's your chance to catch a pokemon!" said the boy.

Kev sweatdropped. He had no idea what to do. He remember that you had to catch them with other pokemon, but he had no pokemon of his own. "A...why don't you take this one? It doesn't really interst me enough to catch it." said Kev. Man, I pulled that one out of the sky

"Alright! Let's go Weddle!" the boy threw a white and red ball, and, in a flash of light, a worm-like yellow creature with a horn on his head appered. "Weddle, use Posion Sting!" The yellow bug all of a sudden charged at the mushroom like thing. It's horn rammed right into the little mushroom thing. The yellow bug came back to its master but, the mushroom thing didn't move. "Alright! Go Pokeball!" The boy threw another red and white ball, which absorbed the mushroom thing. It shook a few times and then stopped. "Alright!"

Kev took a moment to absorb everything that happened. What did just happen? He really must have been sent into the past, but how far back? "Wow...that was pretty awesome..." said Kev.

"Eh...that was nothing." said the young boy, acting cocky, as if he was trying to impress someone. Kev was a hard person to impress but he was more surprized then impress at what happen. "By the way, nice armor on your shoulders. Did you make it yourself?"

Kev sweatdropped again. He totally forgot about his shoulders. "Umm...yeah, I did." In more ways then one...

Just then, a faint buzzing noise began to sound. "Oh no..." said the young boy. He obveuslty knew what was coming. "Umm...well, it was nice meeting you!" he said, and quickly ran off.

"Wait! What is that noise?" yelled Kev. He turned around to see a huge swarm of large bees coming toward him. "This can't be good..."

I'm the Juggernaut!
Blairing, crimson flashes. Each evenly apart. Shouts, hollers, screams.

The whole place was going up in flames.

Everyone was yelling, screeching out their good byes. One of the scientists was waiting by a ....machine. It held an eccentric form, shaped awkwardly round, but not totally strange. Hitou's curiosity was instigated, piercing through the chaos.

"Hurry up! The fate of the universe lies in your hands!"

Hitou sighed, ignoring all the panic and cluster. He wanted to check this thing out, however, his opinions were cast aside. The others listened intently, as if the scientists were their saviours or something, and jumped into the eliptical thing. Hitou tried to push himself back, trying to keep himself away from the thing. As he broke free from the crowd, he was suddenly pushed back in. Someone had grabbed him from behind and pulled him into the glowing lights. Soon, all movement ceased.

"Hey, hey, what are you doing here, lying on the ground like that?? Your gonna get a cold or something!" An abrupt, harsh voice crackled beside Hitou, bringing him to his senses. Miniscule jabs pierced his sides, causing minimal pain, but it was enough to erect discomfort.

Hitou raised his head slowly from the dirt path he was laying down on. He felt weak and irritated, most likely the signs...

Hitou thought for a moment. What the... Where did the lab go? Where the hell am I?

His mind boggled, trying to figure out this simple anomoly when a splash of water soaked his face. Hitou shot a glare above, trying to figure out who had done such a deed.

"Finally. Man, I thought you were like dead or something. Like I asked before, what are you doing here in front of Lake Rage? Dude, you musta been fishing like crazy to blank out like that!"

A male; young, around the age of 19. This person was wearing sweat pants and a sweater, simple gym clothes. He seemed, kind.

Hitou didn't feel intimidated by this figure, so he quickly changed his countanence, from aggitated to kind. The person replied with a smile.

"Oh, thanks for the help! Although that last part was unneccessary... I must have dazed off. Where did you say this was again?" Hitou exclaimed innocently and freely.

"Heh, my pleasure. This here is Lake Rage, a lake that is normally calm and serene, but occasionally erupts in fierce fury. This is most likely due to the large amount of Magikarp and when a majority of them evolve at once, the lake's atmosphere morphes like the sea and a storm. However, not to worry, this lake hasn't erupted like stated in quite some time now. The names Damian by the way. What may yours be mate?"

"My name's Yagami Hitou. I'm not very familiar with this region. Do you think you would be able to take me to the closest town?"

Hitou knew that staying here wouldn't be any help. He observed the area, taking note that the area was quite humid due to the lake's percipitation. A thick forest surrounded the lake, excluding the entrance, in which a large path formed. Sage leaves created a tranquil ambience and a serene solitude. A sole house stood at the bay of the lake and down the path stood a large building.

"Ahh, you must be a foreigner from Kanto. That would explain your light knowledge of the area. The closest town from here is Mahagony Town, home of Pryce, the Ice Gym Leader. I presume your a pokemon trainer due to your ragged clothes."

Pokemon? Are these the beings that I am here to save? The creatures that died out, causing the war, causing my pain?

Hitou's curiosity was once again instigated. He wanted to investigate such miraculous creatures that are able to cause nations to break against one another.

Gyarados and Magikarp must be such creatures considered...Pokemon..,

Then it hit him.

"Wait, you said Kanto so freely. Is this perhaps, Johto?"

"Haha, your a funny one. Of course this is Johto, where else would it be?? And whats wrong with saying Kanto? Thats where your from, right?"

Damian stretched his arm out, patting Hitou's shoulders. Hitou's mind was moving oh so swiftly. All this information was starting to cause a migrane. All he wanted to think about was that he was free, there was no war, and Pokemon are the things he needs to save.

"Ahaha, thanks..." Hitou laughed with Damian as they walked down the path, leaving the lake behind them.

30 days....

“Run into the portal now!” Tala looked away from the voice and to the origin of the chaos with wide eyes. She trembled at the fire and screaming, frozen in terror. She needed to move, get to safety.

“Move it!” Someone yelled pushing past her. She stumbled away and turned to the machine. A supposed safety, where there wasn’t a war and people didn’t want to kill her. For all she knew it could incinerate her the moment she walked through. Something whizzed pass her, less than an inch from taking off her ear. Then again it would be quicker than what she got here. On jelly like legs she moved towards the mechanical structure, and stepped through it.

The first thing she felt was her arm being pressed by what felt like a smooth rock. “Mher...” Tala groaned before batting away whatever it was that was bothering her and turning on her side. Wait... She shot up, looking around frantically. Something below her squeaked and she looked towards the sound. Scampering off was a green creature, walking- er running away on two legs.

Was that...? Could that have been? Either she was dead and this was the afterlife, or it had worked. Looking at the leafy trees and feeling the soft grass under her hands, it could very well be some home for the dead.

She cringed when she heard a roar and felt the ground rumble beneath her. Suddenly this didn’t seem so peaceful anymore.

The Jhoto born girl took no time in running like the wind. One of the trees crashed behind her and she dared to look back. A much bigger and scarier version of the diminutive creature from before had tossed aside a tree. It glared at her with furious eyes and she decided it would be best to run faster.

She felt the earth shudder as the thing chased her, what had she done to anger it? She’d only been awake for half a minute. She couldn’t make enemies that fast.

She felt the slow end of the tremors and dared to stop, sucking in deep breaths. Breath in... Breathe out... In... Out... Endurance had never been her greatest trait, although her running was pretty good. “I’m starting to miss the phantoms already.” Tala moaned.

She looked around, no immediate danger. That was one less worry. She set off, not sure what she was doing or where she was going. If she was lucky, she would run into one of the less murderous or violent mutant people first.

Tala ran a hand through one messy section of hair, untangling it somewhat, and sighed. Then again, her luck sucked.

Decus wasn’t sure exactly how this portal worked; how it had transported him in terms of science or physics or whatever other school of thought it entailed. But, when the feeling of lurching motion finally stopped, he felt as though he landed on his feet quite forcefully. He felt a numbing, tingling shock bolt up his legs, and he stumbled several steps to the left, falling to one knee. His eyes still revealed nothing more than a black backdrop with myriad distortions of colors and shapes, but then he realized that they were closed.

Opening them, the panorama of a world unbeknownst to the mutant flooded into his vision, and he would have found it interesting, if not amazing, had it not been so startling. He seemed to be standing on a small knoll or hillock, whose decline led gently to a bordering of a sparse copse of coniferous trees. The entire area was lush and the most vibrant shade of green he had ever seen. Out into the distance, the land rolled on in similar interspersions of hills and trees.. Decus could just make out a road in the distance, or what we guessed was a road; if it was, it was unlike any road he had ever seen. He couldn’t make out any details from his position, but it looked like nothing more than a thin, snaking trail of brown. The logical assumption was it was no more than a dirt path, but the mutant didn’t dare make any assumptions here.

Not knowing what else to do, the pale man began trekking down the hill, his mind still spinning. He had no idea where he was, and by the looks of it, the gateway had spat him out in some random location. There were no signs of civilization, at least not as far as Decus could see, and he wondered exactly how far away he was from anything. A plethora of thoughts and questions swam about tumultuously in his head. This land was so foreign to him. Everything was intact, there were no scars of war. It looked, dare he think it, peaceful.

Entering the copse of trees, Decus was immediately thrown on the alert, as he heard some odd sound overhead. It was a high-pitched, rhythmic noise, and it was soon joined by many others very much like it. His scalene eyes swept across the tree branches until they stumbled across a most intriguing discovery. Up in the trees, perched on their limbs, was a congregation of some sort of winged creatures. They were colored in tan and white in varying shades, with short, stubby beaks and pudgy bodies. What they were, Decus did not know, but he assumed that they were of those beings that had existed before the wars; before his own lifetime and the recollections of those in his world.

He relaxed after a moment, as the birds seemed to pose no threat. They just sat up on their perches and continued emitting a chorus of chirps. He straightened himself and pushed some hair back behind one of his horns before pushing forward. The trees were easily navigated through, for they were not tightly packed or in possession of a large area of a ground. Just a strip of vegetation around the base of the hill which took mere seconds to cross. Once on the other side, he continued heading o’er hill and though copses, coming closer to the dirt path which he had seen from his starting point.

There then came, suddenly, a twinkling sound, followed quickly by a sharp pain on Decus’s right arm. His head swerved to look down, and he saw that something had cut cleanly through the red sleeve of his shirt, and left an equally clean gash in his forearm. Blood was already oozing out of the wound. Snarling, the mutant looked around, and saw a series of golden stars embedded in the ground just ahead of him. The shapes twinkled a few times before phasing out of existence, leaving though the inflictions they had given the earth. Decus spun on his heal and his angular eyes narrowed menacingly at the perpetrator.

This creature was much different than the ones he had seen singing in the trees. This one was nearly half his height and had a glossy, rounded, striped body with ahead that was much too large. Two curling, yellow antennae sprouted from the blush cranium, which were writhing wildly. Aside from arms and legs, three other appendages grew forth from the beast - two waxy wings and a tail ending in a yellow sphere.

Before Decus could assess the situation, the creature released another shower of spinning stars. Decus dove to the side and landed in a roll, getting to his feet as quickly as possible.

“The fuck,” he growled, clenching his fists, where his slightly sharp nails pressed into his palms. The creature suddenly moved to hover a few inches above the ground, and sped at the mutant, with its head down. Decus sneered and braced himself, lowering his own head, and when the creature was a mere foot away, Decus leapt to the side and threw a enraged fist into the creature. The beast had obviously not expected him to lash out physically, as its eyes widened in surprise. The mutant moved to rake the creature with his nails, but its exoskeleton was evidently too strong, but the monster retreated anyway. It apparently was not so keen on attacking a foe who struck back.

“Where the Hell am I,” Decus wondered allowed, watching the beast buzz off. He growled again and finished his short journey to the road, and noticed a sign nearby. The wooden plank read “Ecruteak City” with an arrow pointing down the road. Decus didn’t know what alien discoveries he would make at this city, but at least it was a destination.

“C’mon, hurry up, the door won’t stay open for too long”, yelled a man towards to Hokage. Without any thoughts Hokage went through the sparkling and fascinating door, when suddenly he felt a painful hit in his face. The hits continued, until it seemed like thousand of punches stroke Hokage’s body. He wanted to run, run away form those punches, away from the pain, but he couldn’t move.

Hokage opened his eyes. He felt a little bit dizzy and it took him a few seconds until he could see clearly. Before he perceived his surroundings, Hokage enjoyed the warm rays of the sun, which touched his skin. He liked this feeling, it gave him security. Everything that happened went through his head, the way to the lab, the time machine door and most of all, the painful trip back in time. But the sun rays calmed him down.

Hokage, though he was a little bit scared, stood up, full of ambition, and took a look at the countryside he landed in. He didn’t see anything but tall, green-yellow coloured grass and some alone standing trees. Judging from that, he seemed to be in some kind of wilderness. Never in his whole life he has seen so much grass in an area. But he wasn’t glad either, that he landed here. He always had avoided woods and other places, where it had lots of plants, because he was afraid he could cause damage with his fire powers.

Suddenly the ground started shaking a little. Hokage had no idea why and started searching for a reason. And as he looked around, he saw a group of rather small, grey somethings, which ran towards to him, and obviously caused the shaking. When he also saw that those creatures had spikes and horns, Hokage started running. It wasn’t hard to keep the distance between him and the creatures, they weren’t that fast and Hokage was used to fleeing anyway. After two minutes of running, Hokage finally spotted some kind of cave. He increased his speed and quickly ran into it.

But when the creatures where running past the cave, which was actually an altered, big boulder, they didn’t seem to pay attention to Hokage’s disappearing at all.

“So, they weren’t hunting after me?”, he thought loudly, “it seems like they do it just for fun, that’s weird”. But what actually were they? They weren’t mutants, neither human. Then Hokage remembered a situation from his past, from the time when his parents were still alive. He remembered how his father told him that there had existed some creatures, which lived happily with the human, he called them Pokemon. And Hokage knew somehow that the grey, spiky creatures that he has seen were a species of Pokemon.

While he was sitting in the small cave, Hokage started worrying and doubted that he could find out where to go. “Where should I go know? I don’t even know where I am, so how am I supposed to find out where to go?” The temperature in his body, started raising slowly. Hokage knew if he stayed longer in this cave, his fear would start to grow and he would lose control, so he decided to go out and started walking.

He didn’t know where he was going, but at least he was doing something. Everything in this countryside looked the same. Hokage wasn’t sure if he really was getting on or if he was walking in a circle.

Hokage stopped walking as he felt something touching his leg. He looked down and saw a small, cute looking Pokemon, which wanted Hokage’s attention. “Hey little Pokemon, what’s going on?”, he asked it kindly.

“Kaaaaaa”, the little Pokemon answered with a high, voice, which fit it’s body shape. It had a blueish colour, small ears and big black eyes. It had tiny, sharp looking claws, but it didnt seem dangereous at all.

Hokage hesitated first, but started stroking it after all. While he was stroking the little Pokemon, which enjoyed it, Hokage didn’t pay attention to the big angry Pokemon behind him, which was preparing itself to attack.

The big Pokemon released a beam of energy out of it’s mouth and threw the surprised Hokage away from the little Pokemon. Hokage crashed on the ground and wanted to stand up as he saw that the big Pokemon, which looked similar to the small one, already stood in front of him, ready to release another beam at Hokage.

I'm bored so I decided to post again lol.
----

Kev stood there not knowing really what to do. Either it was run or find out what the buzzing bees wanted. Since running wasn't really something Kev liked to do, he decided to stay and, if he had to, fight.

The bees were now close enough for Kev to see their features. These weren't the type of bees Kev saw back home. These bees were about 4 and a half feet tall, and while some of their features were the same, such as the yellow and black stripes, thin, crystal wings and a stinger on the end of it's body, there was major different: they had two large stingers on their front legs.

By now, the bees had gotten to Kev and surrounded him. Most of them were getting their front stingers ready, almost as if they getting into an attack position. "I should have figured they'd want to fight. Look at those stingers...since the spire of rock didn't make a Kev-ka-ba, I'm sure these things will." Just as finished speaking, one of the bees attacked.

Kev's whole body tensed up. He raised his arms to his face to somehow shield himself and closed his eyes. All of a sudden, the skin on the top of arms seemed to grow cool. When the bee jabbed at his arms, Kev could feel it hit but not go through. Kev opened his eyes and slowly lowered his arms. "Ok...what just happen?" Kev said, surprised. Kev then looked at his arms, the things that saved him somehow.

He couldn't believe what he saw. His arms were covered in...Steel. "Holy ****..." Kev then snapped back to reality, realizing that he was still surrounded by large *** bees. Kev looked down on his arms and got a smirk on his face, then looking around at all of his attackers. "So you guys still wanta fight? Bring it on then."

One of the bees then charged at Kev. "Eat fist, bug breath." Just before it reached Kev, he gave it a shift uppercut right were its jaw would be. The bee flew a few feet through the air and then landed on the ground. "Wow! That was awesome!" said Kev, landing back on the ground.

Two other bees then attacked Kev. Kev charged at the one in front of him, giving it a quick side jab, and sending it through a tree. Before Kev could swing around for the other bee, it jabbed its hind stringer into the side of Kev. "Urg..." Kev took the back of his right arm and swiped at the other bee, knocking it to the ground.

Kev got down on one knee and held onto his side. The bugger's stinger went in fairly deep. As Kev was assisting to his wound, the bees started to surround him again. "Man, you go back in time and look what happens...least its better then a bullet..." The bees stood around Kev for about a minute, then gathered into a group and went off into the forest. "Least they're less aggressive then the army..." Kev looked at his hand. Blood was leaking from his wound. "If they're anything the bees at home, they also have poison with that stinger. I need to get to a hospital..." Kev slowly got up and started to limp off into the woods.

Typhlogirl

keep battling on!
Fire. So much fire.

The heat shot through the air like an arrow, searing Hondia's flesh and ripping feathers from her wings.

"Hurry! Before it closes!" shouted a white-coated man. The gate shone with every colour of the spectrum, invading Hondia's sensitive eyes with their blaring intensity. She took a tentative towards the silent mass.

Suddenly, she felt someone shoving her, and she stumbled forward, crying out in shock as her hands met the brightly coloured gate. The rainbows shot up to meet her, then everything went black.

Hondia felt dirt under her fingers. Slowly, she gently forced her eyelids to retract, allowing her eyes to take in the amazing scene before her. She was lying on a dirt path in the middle of a field. Sitting up, she could see a city on the horizon, it's silver skyscrapers living up to their names. The sky was cloudless, and strange creatures soared through the blue mass.

It was like she was on a foreign planet.

Struggling to her feet, her wings unfolding painfully, Hondia tried to get a bearing on her position.

"Where the hell am I?" she said to no one in particular. As expected, there was no answer.

Brushing at the dirt clinging to her new jeans, she looked up at the sun blaring down, trying to work out what time it was. From the sun, it looked to be about midday. Hondia sighed. She completely at a loss at what to do. From what she could gather of the people that inhabited the past, none of them had wings. How could she enter a city with the feathered blemishes sticking out like a third arm, clearly marking her as an abomination; something that shouldn't be? She should just stay out in the countryside; no one could bother her out here.

As if fate was seeking to prove her wrong, Hondia heard a voice wafting from behind her.

"Hey, wait up!"

The girl froze solid, as if she had been encased in ice. She didn't dare move. Perhaps the person wasn't talking to her.

No, he was probably talking to invisible one in front of her. Dammit!

"Who are you?" The owner of the voice had moved in front of her. Hondia could now see that it was a slim young man, roughly her age, carrying a purple rucksack and pokeballs. His brown hair fell in front of his eyes, and he wore an amused expression on his face.

"What's up? You foreign or something?" he asked, confused by her lack of an answer.

Hondia could do nothing to make her voice work. Her vocal chords just refused point blank to obey her. Besides, upon looking at the man, she felt a strange sensation in her stomach that she couldn't place. Hondia had never really had much contact with the opposite sex when she was growing up, and the fact that this attractive pokemon trainer was talking to her, wings and all, seemed to much. Without uttering a sound, Hondia dashed away towards the city, her feet pounding on the path as she forced her body to reach its top speed. The surprised cries of the young man followed her, but she ignored them and raced down the path.

I can't be seen in public. I...can't talk to him.

Hondia's past flashed in front of her eyes...

She was twelve years old, sitting in her family tent; her father glaring down at her.

"What have I told you about talking to the village children?"

"I'm...sorry. But the boy was hurt. I had to help him!"

"Adults were present." Interrupted her mother. "They could have handled the situation. How dare you leave the perimeter of the tent! You could have been exposed!"

"I'm sorry mommy..."

A look of disgust covered her mothers face. "Don't you dare call me that. It sounds like poison coming from your mutated mouth."

Tears began to well in Hondia's eyes.

Perhaps this world does not want me.

"It's all burning..."

The secret building was going up in flames.

"Go now, before it closes!" A man yelled near Ari. She looked at him for a moment before taking the risk to jump into a portal that suposedly would take her into the past... Intently she leapt through, leaving the lab she had worked so hard to reach behind... but then blackness swallowed her vision.

"God, don't let me die now."

A poke and a prod. A wiggle. Ari's gray-blue eyes opened warrily to see a strange creature leaning over her. It was round with a very large, ringed tail and of a brownish color. Its black ears stuck up off of its head fairly high, like rabbit's ears. What the hell is that thing? Ari thought with an expression of shock on her face.

"Sentret! Come back here!" A male voice called from a short distance off. Ari sat up and watched the strange creature, she assumed it was Sentret, run over to the man. He was a bit short, obviously not very old. He had short brown hair and startlingly green eyes... Ari could see this when he looked at her so oddly.

"What's the matter, Clay? Can't get your own Pokemon to do what you want it to do?" A girl mused behind him. She was not at all like the one called Clay, tall and very mature looking. Her hair fell to her shoulderblades and was neatly kept in a ponytail, but Ari could tell that it was stark-black. The girl turned to face her just as Clay had, staring at her with cool, brown eyes...

Ari stared at the two. Pokemon... she thought with awe. She never thought she would have seen one that close to her in her life. The machine had worked, she mused to herself. She was back in time, when Pokemon roamed and trainers flourished.

"Hey," The girl said curiously, "Where'd you come from? Are you hurt?" she walked over towards Ari, the smaller boy following her. "Normally his Sentret wouldn't come over to you if you weren't hurt or somethin'."

Ari shook her head. "I'm fine. Really." She stood up and started to walk off. It could be awkward to speak with the pair much, with her not knowing anything about Pokemon and all. The blonde-headed girl broke into a run, trying to get away before she got asked another question. The other two were left behind without a clue in the world, but that's just what Ari wanted...

The experience of traveling through time, or at least, what is thought of as traveling through time, is quite nearly impossible to describe. Lauren's stomach held onto the fluttery feeling of flight that one gets from falling, but the rest of her body felt terribly compressed and cramped, like one would feel when sinking down into deep waters. Perhaps it would be most comparable to that of falling upwards, into an ocean in the sky. Not that this concept makes any sort of sense whatsoever. Glimpses of her life going in an immedate reverse flashed before her; the nightmares, the guilt of leaving others behind, the horrible sound of the waves slapping against the wooden sides of the boat as it careened through stormy seas...

Lauren woke up abruptly, the remnants of an anguished scream echoing through her ears. Noticing that the compressed feeling in her chest was suddenly gone, she began gasping for air. This was her first mistake. Dust and little bits of rock flew down her windpipe as she breathed, and she was thrown into a bit of a coughing fit. Apparently, upon her arrival to this new place, she had landed face first on the ground. Her sharp gray eyes shot open, scanning the area in an almost fearful, yet mostly confused way. Just where the heck had she ended up?

As the black girl was looking around, she realized her assumption was incorrect. She hadn't landed on the ground at all. Rather, she had landed on what she supposed was the oddly red colored roof of some strange, two story building. The roof was flat, though it was not apparent whether this was just due to construction plans or because it was for walking on. She certainly didn't see any staircases or elevators leading up there, in any case.

"My first task," she muttered, having been able to find her voice after her bout of coughing, "Appears to be getting off this building. Getting off without looking like an idiot would be prefered, but it's best to just work with what I have for now..."

Lauren gulped slightly as she stood, swaying unsteadily from dizziness and nearly falling over again. Heights was definetely not one of her most favorite things in the world. Once she regained her balance, she chanced another look at something other than the roof. The other buildings in the area were closely knit together, most of them being taller than the one she herself was on. Large amounts of people crowded the sidewalks below, usually in decent sized clumps with small breaks inbetween them. There was a general hubub of noise; the sound of various people talking intermingled with the sounds of vehicles and the strange cries of creatures that she couldn't identify. It was loud and noisy, yet it was the preferred kind of noisy that one doesn't mind if one has been living in fear of much louder sounds for most of one's life.

Her eyes roamed to the slightly taller construction next to the one she was standing on. It was, oddly enough, pistachio green in color, dotted with lit and unlit windows. To Lauren, however, the thing about it that stood out the most was the fire escape running down the side. A glimmer of hope seeped into her mind as she eyed it. If she could just reach it, she'd be homefree. Well, as homefree as a girl lost in a strange city of the past could be, anyway. With slow, deliberate steps, she made her way over to the edge of the roof. She gulped upon reaching the edge, and peered into the thin alley below.

The direct downward drop made her momentarily dizzy, but she quickly shook it off. The fire escape on the other building zig-zagged to the cracked road below, letting out near a green dumpster. The huge trash can was stained with a foul looking something or other; Lauren had no desire to find out just what it might be. Next to it were two strange looking beasts, apparently having some sort of tug-of-war with an old looking piece of meat. They both were four legged, with dirty black fur covering every inch of them, excluding the muzzle and stomach, which were a strange, orange-like color. A skull shaped pattern formed around their heads, and two large, curved bones stuck out of their backs. Another ring of bone, one for each leg, circled around just over their paws. To a person who hasn't seen much else besides human beings, these creatures were definetely the oddest things she had ever laid eyes on. She became so entranced with simply watching these two hellish dogs fighting over a piece of food that she had nearly lost her balance. She had been slowly tilting outwards, hoping to get a better view of them, and she suddenly felt herself leaning a little too far over the edge of the roof.

The black girl let out a yelp as she fell forward slightly, and swung her arms wildly in a rather silly looking attempt to regain her balance. The momentum sent her tumbling backwards, and she landed with a thump on the red roof. She let out an evident sigh of relief, and struggled to her feet again. A hand reached up to brush her uneven black bangs back and out of her eyesight. She stared determinedly at the fire escape ahead of her, then backed up slightly. She seemed frozen in place for a moment, then shuddered slightly and took off at a fast pace. Upon reaching the ledge, she jumped off as far as she could.

Lauren felt herself falling through the air, her arms reaching out in front of her in a desperate attempt to latch onto the ever looming black bars of the fire escape. For a moment, it seemed like she wouldn't make it. Then, with a loud clang, her hands connected with the railing and the rest of her body swung inwards, connecting with the side of the steps. It was a stroke of luck that the armored part of her stomach had connected with the staircase; if it hadn't been there she most likely would've been too winded to pull herself up. Her palms started to sweat as she clung nervously to the handle bar. She didn't bother to look and see if anyone had heard her; half of her was hoping somebody did and the other half was hoping they didn't. She began lifting her left leg, moving it along until it came in contact with a step further down from her location. Her foot shifted around until it was lying flat on the step; she used it as support as she dragged the rest of her body up over the railing and down on the other side of the hand rail. She remained still on the other side of the staircase for a few moments, panting heavily. Part of her still couldn't believe that she had even attempted that; why didn't she just call for help, jump around, anything? Not that anybody would've noticed, except maybe those two dogs fighting in the alley. Speaking of which...

Lauren cast her gaze to the ground, searching for a glimpse of the two odd creatures she had seen not a few minutes earlier. However, no trace of them was to be found. The piece of meat they were fighting over was left abandoned on the cold street.

"The sound must've scared them," she reasoned, "The stairs clanged loudly so they ran away... how disappionting," she thought aloud, though by the tone of her voice you couldn't tell if she really was disappointed or not.

Ytnim

Storm Trainer
Xor had been thrown into a tornado of events after entering the lab, but all that was behind him, now was the time to go through the machine, that according to those that lived in this place, was a time travelling machine, they would be sent back to a time with no war, no mutants, and populated with creatures called pokemon, but no description was given, just that they came in many shapes and forms.

Xor was flung across the ground as yet another explosion rocked the buildings foundations. Slowly getting to his feet, Xor watched as the other mutants present entered the machine's vortex, their emotions ranging from fear to anger. With as much composure possible under the circumstances, along with trying to avoid being thrown to the ground again, Xor walked into the vortex, keeping his state of indifference up.

The feeling was unlike anything that Xor had ever felt before, but was still somehow familiar, which was quite strange. An hour might have passed, or only a second, the passing of time was of no consequence to the form of travel he was taking. All around him was white, but slowly, objects came into view, and took colour...

Xor watched as trees came into view all around him, but they were much bigger and wider, in general more healthier, than he had ever seen a tree before. Looking down, the seventeen-year-old found lush, green grass up to his knees, slowly waving in the gentle breeze that Xor felt tugging at his strange clothes he was given in the lab.

Turning around, a small creature came into the boy's view. It looked like a rat, but it was massive compared to any rat he had ever seen. It's fur was mostly purple, although its underbelly was white, and it's tail ended in a curl.

"George! Where are you George?!" a small child's voice rang through the forest.

Xor quickly rose the hood on his jumper over his head, and put his hands in his pockets to hide his skin.

A young boy ran into the field that the creature and Xor were occupying and upon seeing the rat-like creature, ran up to it and lifted it into the air, hugging in with obvious, if a little extreme, love. The boy, who seemed about ten or eleven and wore blue shorts and a white t-shirt, looked at Xor with curiosity and after an uneasy moment, broke into a wide smile.

"Did you find my George for me sir? Thank you very much, I'm only a new pokemon trainer, and can't control my pokemon all the time, but I still love him. I'm Peter, who are you?" The child asked, taking at high speed, but still decipherable.

"Just call me Xor." Xor kept his head down, to keep his face from being seen.

"Ok then. Xor, what are you doing out here in the forest? I'm looking for new pokemon for George to fight, and maybe some for me to catch!" The boy continued, now putting his pokemon back onto solid ground.

"I am slightly lost. Could you point me in the direction of the nearest town?" Xor asked him while watching the pokemon sniff the grass around Peter.

"I can do better than that!" Peter said, puffing up his chest in pride, "I can take you to Goldenrod myself! I have to go back anyhow, I ran out of pokeballs." Peter added that last bit with a little less enthusiasm.

Xor just nodded as if he understood, but really he knew nothing about these "pokemon", "pokemon trainers" or "pokeballs".

"Follow me!" Peter yelled loudly, marching off across the field. George followed close behind and Xor made up the rear.

As a child, Aiden often spent hours upon hours watching the washing machine through the glass opening. Though some would find that very strange, Aiden was just a strange child. Living with a bunch of old women often proved boring, and one can only meditate so much.

He would see a purple sock gracefully dance with a blue sock; a blouse with a skirt as well. It spun constantly, going around, and around, and around so much just to make Aiden dizzy.

Always, he wondered what it would be like to be in the washing machine.

Now he knew.

Rapidly, he was thrust about, going around and around until his vision was blurred. Just when he thought he couldn’t take it any more, mercy took pity on him and let him go.

Funny thing falling is.

While one is falling, all the hustle and bustle just disappears. All the problems in the world disappear. Suddenly, one has time to stop and think. Thinking about what led up to the fall, and what the impact would be like. Would you survive the fall, will you be injured?

All these thoughts occurred to Aiden. But of course, like everyone else, impact was inevitable.

Except, he wasn’t everyone.

Suddenly, inevitable was turned into impossible as Aiden’s ghost mutant powers took over a second prior to impact.

He was thrust into the ground, and then immediately sent right back up. In an instant, his flesh returned, and he sat there, panting.

Nearly dying does that to all of us.

As he arose, he began to observe his surroundings. An enormous, pitch black cavern loomed behind him. To his right and his left were high cliffs, probably part of the mountain that he was at the base of. In front of him was a pathway, which he took.

Strolling down the path, he noticed the gorgeous lilacs that were planted all along the sides of the paths.

“Nature at its finest,” he thought to himself.

After walking down the path for a while, a girl not too much younger than him jumped out from the right side with a red and white ball in her hand, and flaming locks of auburn hair adorned her dainty head. She wore a white blouse with khaki

Vigorously, she glared at him straight in the eyes and demanded, “Let’s battle.”

Confused, Aiden asked her, “What the devil are you talking about? Is baseball called battling in this time period?!”

She looked at him and lost the vigor in her emerald green eyes. With a hearty giggle, she inquired of Aiden, “Are you saying you don’t know what a pokemon battle is?”

He answered an honest, “No.”

She responded with a smaller giggle, “Okay, let me show you.” Grabbing his arm, she took him down the path until she found an older man with a strange hat and even stranger outfit on. He looked like some sort of mountain man, or something.

They nodded to each other, and both through the balls. In a flash of red light, a large tortoise looking creature appeared in front of the girl and a large snake that was made of rocks appeared.

“Oh good heavens!” Aiden cried. Surely this girl was going to lose. The large snake had the clear advantage.

Fortunately for her, it didn’t.

Without hesitation, she commanded before the man could even say anything, “Natalie! Use surf!” As the words exitted her mouth, out of no where a large tsunami appeared, and thrust the ground. Automatically, the wave hit the large snake and instantly knocked it out.

The man, looking a tad devastated, but he held up his pokeball and returned the Onix.

Turning toward an awestruck Aiden, she informed nonchalantly, “That, my friend, is a pokemon battle.”

Information that he had read came back to him all at once like a powerful boomerang. A pokemon battle. He had read about those before.

He nodded, somewhat grinning.

Intrigued, the girl asked, "What is your name?"

"Aiden," was the quiet answer.

"I'm Cassandra, but you may call me Cassie."

"Alright, Cassie it is then."

"So, where are you from?" she inquired.

"Um, well, I guess Lavender Town, if we must be technical."

"Oh, Lavender Town, eh? That's just around the corner. Maybe half a mile."

"...That must be a large corner."

At this, they both laughed.

"Well, how about I come with you, Aiden? I've got nothing better to do," Cassie suggested.

"Sounds like fun, but won't that be out of your way?"

"No, of course not! I'm heading to Lavender anyways." She nodded, and locked arms with Aiden. "Come on, let's go!"

They walked down the path, and around the supposed corner, not encountering anything for once. As they reached the end, Cassie uttered loudly with glee, "We're here, we're here!"

Aiden looked around the small, peaceful town, and felt like he was home.

The Compromise
OOC: Sorry for being late. ^.^;;

IC:

The so called time machine stood before me, a calm picture of a gently rocking ocean in its flickering depths. I stared at it dubiously, a slight wind rustling past my antenna. How could this... thing, put me back in time? Let alone the lot of us? I snuck a glance at the others, who were all waiting their turn to go in. Some, like me, were nervous, hopping anxiously from foot to foot. I nodded to the one closest to me and faced the machine again. At least I wasn't the only one having doubts. A scientist waited beside the portal, wringing his hands nervously.

He was a small fellow, the machine beside him dwarfing him by at least a foot, making his seem all the more tiny. I gave him a quick smile, albeit a sarcastic one. He looked, for all the world, like one of those pygmy people from the stories my parents used to tell me. A smile flitted across my face as I remembered those times, but I quickly chased them, and the smile from my face and mind. Now was not the time.

I looked over the scientist again, who was saying something at the front of the crowd, although I couldn’t hear him over the purr of the machines. One of the problems with enhanced senses is that it takes a lot to get used to it, and learn how to direct it. My hearing had improved quite a bit this morning, I woke up able to hear the cackle of the time machine from the bedroom the scientists had kindly leant me. The problem was, I had trouble listening to somebody a foot away. Ah well. I directed my mind back at the scientist, trying once more to hear what he was saying. It seemed like he had been up all night, his black hair was tousled, there were huge rings under his blue eyes. He kept on glancing worriedly at the door, as if someone, or something, could come bursting out of it any second. Looking at the nearest person, he made agitated ‘hurry up!’ movements. I half smiled as I watched the first 'volunteer' walk forward, head held high.

I seriously doubted that the portal was any more than an illusion, the boy would just walk through it to the other side and we could all laugh our heads off at the joke and go home. Or at least I hoped so. No matter what I had thought before, home seemed a lot better than listening to these psychos babble about the long extinct pokemon. So they are gone. Get over it already. I watched as the boy stepped towards the gate, pausing briefly as if to steel himself, and walked into it.

He disappeared.

The vortex started to swirl madly, swallowing the unfortunate boy and emitting the entire spectrum in a single, radiant burst. I squinted as the light speared into my eyes, causing them to sting slightly in shock. A gale force wind dragged my clothing towards it, acting like a huge vacuum. I grabbed my hat as it threatened to fly off my head, scowling at the portal. It only blew harder, causing pieces of paper to flutter madly. I began to get a little frightened as its unforgiving pull began to drag me slightly forward.

What if it kept up and pulled me inside? I quelled the thought, squashing it before it could worry me anymore, focusing on the portal to distract myself. Then all of a sudden, it stopped. The light, wind, gone, in a single second. Even the chaotic tornado slowed and returned to normal. As quick as that. I shivered, opening my eyes fully and examining the machine. Not one trace of the boy remained. Had he been swallowed? Was that thing really a creature of some sort that the scientists nurtured? Or was it really a time portal like they claimed? I gulped. Either option didn't seem good in my eyes. Especially the first.

BOOM!

The floor shook as a massive explosion rocked the building. I fell to my knees, my beloved hat falling off as I clung miserably to the shiny linoleum floor, wincing as I was accidentally kicked in the shin. I raised my head, searching for the scientist in all the chaos. He was still standing, urging people through the portal. I half smiled. His lack of height must be made up with stockiness, which must have given him his great balance. Getting to my feet, I glanced behind me, at the direction of the explosion. I felt a wave fear accost me as I heard the eager crackling of a fire, tasted the burnt wood, saw the fire that was greedily licking the bottom of the door, sending its first plumes of smoke rolling towards us. I heard the distant sound of screams, faint gunfire.

I recoiled in shock, backing up away from the door, where the gun fire was drawing nearer. We were being attacked! Glimpses of my father falling flashed before my eyes, images of his blood gushing from the hole in his head, his empty eyes gazing sightlessly at the sky… I froze, transfixed by the sound. It utterly terrified me, freezing my muscles, locking my bones. Guns. Not guns. Dad, gone. Because of guns. I freaked out, bolting towards the portal for it was immediately opposite to where the sound of gunfire tore towards me. Guns. Not guns.

The scientist stepped back as I hurtled past him, a look of surprise on his face. He must of mistaken my look for excitement, I guess. I ignored him, blundering past and diving towards the portal. I would do anything to avoid the guns. I pushed inside the vortex, feeling its center all around me, strangely cool and soft to the touch. It enveloped me in a feather like cloud, surrounding me, pulsing slightly. The colors and textures merged into a pure green, blinding, clean light that sparkled in star like flowers around me. The feel of the portal changed, it now felt of grass fronds, of dried leaves. I heard a faint whisper, as if somebody was trying to talk to me. I strived to hear it as I fell through this green oblivion, but , as usual, it was just beyond my feeble senses. I soon gave up and just looked around, soon becoming bored with the same plain old green. Thankfully, it began to change once more, and I saw something below me. Something blue, with green streaks swirling around inside it.

The green faded to a peri-winkle, blue, untainted with a few puffs of white crawling above me. I hurtled towards the swaying mass, peacefully unaware until the last second that it was the roaring, unforgiving ocean, its waves reaching up eagerly to pluck me from the air and take me to the deep. In that split second of realisation I stared at it in terror, opening my mouth to scream. The waters reached out, laughing with its huge, bellowing voice. Time seemed to slow as I collided with the surface, my feet thankfully first. Pain wracked through me in red spikes, spearing through every inch of my body. My head pounded as I thrashed out wildly, trying to get above the surface.

I did never learnt how to swim. Unfortunately, in Orre, we don’t have many rivers, or pools. Our well was all we had, and it would be foolish to muddy it by ’frolicking in it’ as my parents put it. My parents… My tears were lost in the ferocious waves. She would never know what I had done, or tried to do. The ruthless rip tide pulled me down, salty water flooding in my mouth. I tried to spit it out, to climb back up, but it was no use. An overwhelming feeling of sadness filled every aching joint of my being. I had failed. My vision steadily narrowed, fading to a single speck of pure green as I gazed uselessly up at the surface, twinkling just a few, short meters above me.

And then there was nothing.

Ari stopped to catch her breath, sitting down on a large gray rock. She was now a ways away from the people she had met earlier, thinking over everything that she had just seen.

She was back in time, illogically. She had seen a Pokemon, extinct in her own time but commonplace in this. And oddly, she had seen the people of this time as well. This forest... where was she now?

Ari had made herself curious now. She begun to search for some sort of sign, maybe a poster or something, that would tell her where she was. If she had to, she would ask someone where she was... but interacting with the people of this time did not seem easy, for Ari didn't know much about their time period and they may bring something up that she knew nothing about.

After a few moment's combing through the brush, Ari stumbled upon a metallic signpost. It read "Ilex Forest" in engraved lettering, with arrows pointing to different nearby cities.

The landscape now is quite different from what I know, she thought wryly. Might as well head towards one of the cities. Goldenrod... I think I heard something about that once. I'll go there.

With that Ari started to weave her way through the brush again, in the northernly direction that the sign pointed. She heard a sound and turned quickly to face it. Seeing nothing straight ahead, she looked down to see another strange creature that looked a bit like a worm below her.

Ari stared at it for a second before walking off. There seemed to be many of the little yellow things, crawling around through the trees, but she payed no mind. She just kept on walking until she saw a place where the light poured down, not just filtered through the overhanging leaves.

Glad to see a bit of light, Ari stepped out into the sun.

Kev Chi

Guardian
Kev looked at his hand again. Most of the blood on his hand was dry while his wound had started to slow down in bleeding. Kev was starting to feel the effects of losing alot of blood, not to mention if there was a posion affecting him.

Kev reached the edge of the forest, which seemed like an enterity to get through. Appond reaching the edge, he noticed a city off in the distance.

"Cilvilization...there's something I haven't seen in a long time..." Kev took one step toward the city, and once he took that step, he gripped his side in pain. The pain was becoming too much for him to handle. He got back down on one knee.

"Howdy stranger. Looks like you got a little wound there." Kev turned around to see a old man, Kev guessed around 70. He wore what look like a kimoto, dark green on top, dark blue on the bottom. He was bald, with only a goatee for facial hair. His voice was very gruff, very deep. "Is it possible you were attacked by a Beedrill? This forest is known for them hohohoho...." he laughed. "I'm surpirsed a young pup like you wouldn't know this."

"I am sorta new to the area..." replied Kev.

"Ohhh....Are you now? Well, how bout this, I help try to heal up that wound of yours and then I'll take you to Pewter City?" asked the old man.

"Pewter City? That must be the town up ahead, right?" said Kev

"Ohohoho...you are correct young one. Now, for that wound of yours...Come Blissey." The old man threw one of those red and white balls, and in a flash of light, a fairly large pink puff ball appered. "Blissey!" it said in a light voice.
"Blissey, how bout you help our friend here?" asked the old man, handing the Blissey a roll of medical tape. "Can never be too careful out here hohoho..."

The giant puffball approuched Kev. It looked all around the wound, took some tape, and smacked it on the wound. Kev crined. "Blissey!" it jumped up and cheered with a smile on its face. "Nice work Blissey." replied the old man.

"Err...yes...thanks..." said Kev, rubbing his wound.

"Now for the posion..." the old man started to take something out of his phanny pack when Blissey stopped him. "Bliss Bliss!" "What? Well...isn't this something...Blissey said you have no posion hohohoho..."

"No posion? Do these Beedrills you talk about have no posion in their stingers?" questioned Kev

"Hohoho...Beedrills are known to have very potent posion. Never in all my years have I seen something like you. Anyways, before we get going, I should introdue myself. My name is Tiyo."

"My name is Kev. It's nice to meet you Tiyo."

"Kev is your name? Hohoho...such a unqine name. Well Kev, shall we get going?" Kev nodded and the two set off on the path heading toward the city.

Night Terror
Tobias climbed down the last few rock platforms at the bottom of the mountain, then leapt off a tall cliff, landing softly on the grass below. He glance back up, seeing that it was almost impossible to climb up, due to it's direction of leaning, and prayed that he wouldn't have to try and find a back up there. He left the site and headed down a narrow dirt path that eventually led into a small town.

A sign identified it as Cherrygrove City. In the distance, barely visible through the cloud was Goldenrod. Even in his own time, the Radio Tower of Goldenrod was still intact. Most of the building structure was destroyed of course, but the tower itself was used to pick up enemy transmissions, and send elaborate coded messages to Johto troops. Tobias only knew this from having to listen to constant babbling of the people he'd been stuck with after arriving in Johto.

How he longed to return to Orre in this time. To see it in it's prime, with the Realgam Tower intact ad Gateon Port the harbour for entertainment. How he longed to taste the sweet desert air again. Yet even without visiting his home land, to see any city in it's prime was a delight. Part of him even imagine Hoenn was beautiful once, before it became a place of warmongering and hatred for others. Orre had it's villains become martyrs, as the organisations known as Snagem and Cipher turned against Hoenn. They were executed for their attempts, but their deaths gave Orre to willpower to fight back.

Tobias sat down beside a lake, his heart racing and tears welling up in his eyes. He put his hands on the wooden bench and felt the wood burning like red hot fire. The air around him was boiling, and the sweat was starting to pour out of him. His anger and the girl previously had manifested itself as a cold chill, but now his fear, his memories and his passion were warming the air together, creating a maelstrom of intense heat. He tried to calm himself, and felt some of the heat ebb away. Clenching his fists, he willed the heat to die down, and felt within in his palm, a small orb form.

Opening his hand, a ball glowed with a dull red light. It was hot, like a ball of flame though it did not hurt his skin. Checking around for other people, he tossed it into the water, where it sizzled and let off a lot of steam.

This wasn't boding well. Not only did he have to put up with his body covered in scales, and the temperature around him changing, but now he was manifesting screaming hot balls. The thought of the scales sparked his memory, and he checked the bruises on his arms. Sure enough there wasn't any. Instead the skin was starting to peel and flake away, with fresh white scales lying beneath. He sighed, and brushed a little dead skin away. The scales were still soft and tender, but in a few hours they would harden into real scales and be pretty much untouchable. His forearms hurt too, probably from the fall.

Shaking his head and sighing, Tobias stood up, and head off for Goldenrod once more. If he remembered his way, it would be a case of passing through the next town and heading south west past the ancient ruins. Hopefully he could miss out going through the forest entirely. He wondered if anyone else made it through unscathed.

OOC: Can I ask everyone to add to the bottoms of their posts where they are currently located please? When I know where people generally are I can start throwing some rocks at you. Or plot devices instead of rocks, whichever is closer to hand. *eyes bucket of stones with glee* Uh.. yeah, thanks everyone.

Xor followed the boy as he lead him this way and that through somewhat of a maze that the forest's trees made. He occasionally heard a rustle in a nearby bush, or a furious flapping of wings for a moment, but when he turned to face the sound, nothing was there. Peter and his pokemon, who seemed to answer to "George" either didn't hear or ignored the sounds, and so did Xor, if this child had no need to fear them, then neither did he.

After maybe half and hour of walking, the trio made it too an opening in the forest, the end of it. Ahead of them was a long stretch of road, a few houses scattered among fields of thick, lush grass, gently swaying in the breeze that tugged at the trees and larger plants as well. On the very edge of the horizon there seemed to be many large structures, quite large if they could be seen from this distance. Xor didn't actually know, but he had a feeling that these structures made up Goldenrod City. It looked magnificent from here, imagine what it would look like up close! Most cities in the time Xor came from were mainly base camps or dugouts for the military that occupied them. If there was any doubt in the young man's heart or mind that he wasn't actually in the past, seeing those buildings in the distance pretty much removed all doubt.

Suddenly a ringing sound began to blare, and Xor immediately spun around to confront whatever it was.

"Calm down would ya?! You sure are no trainer if that gets you alarmed. It's only my pokegear ringing, telling me someone wants to talk to me, most likely my mum, wondering where I am, just wait a sec." Peter explained to Xor before walking away a bit and pushing a button on a piece of technology on his hip and talking into it.

After a bit of an arguement which Peter seemed to lose, he walked back over to Xor dejectedly, his head hanging.

"My mum wants me to come home now, she won't let me go to Goldenrod to get more pokeballs 'till tomorrow. So I guess you'll have to make your own way there. It isn't too hard to find, just follow the road." Peter looked to George and then back to Xor, "C'mon George, lets go home. Bye Xor, c-ya around."

The boy thought the name was strange, but was had enough manners not to say anything.

Xor, now on his own, set off down the road, headed for the majestic buildings on the horizon.

Fire. Blazing crimson fire.

The whole building was up in flames.

The heat blazed through the air; the place had become a living inferno.

"Go! Before it closes!" shouted one of the white-coated scientists. The portal to the past glared brilliantly; invading Terros’s eyes with every possible colour he could think of.

Other people started entering the portal; Terros attentively steadied himself closer to the gateway. The heat was killing him; both his conscious and his grass mutations both agreed.

“There is nothing I hate more than fire!” grumbled the boy as more flames enshrouded the area. He edged closer. This was it; it was either now or never.

Suddenly, he felt someone pushing him, and he tripped forward. The flashing rainbows greeted him as the portal swallowed him. The last thing he remembered was being engulfed in a swirling tornado of colours. Then everything went black…

Terros groaned and he regained his consciousness. Slowly, he grudgingly opened his eyes. What he saw next was the most amazing site he had seen in his lifetime. He was lying on a dirt path next to the entrance of a spectacular yet ominous forest. He moaned as he sat up. He certainly had a bumpy ride; he was covered with bruises. He then squinted his eyes. He could see a city on the horizon, its skyscrapers in all their glory and might. The sky was pristine and clear, and many strange birds filled the air.

He was different not at home anymore.

“Hey, are you okay?”

A boy around his age and apparently his sister ran towards him, with two strange creatures oddly resembling plants by their sides. Terros stared; his mouth gaping open as the twins caught with him.

“Who are you?” The boy spoke; he was a slim young man, almost a boy, around his age, carrying a cobalt backpack and pokeballs. His hazelnut brown hair fell in front of his eyes, and he wore an expression of worry.

“What happened? You were on the ground, completely unconscious. I was worried so I ran and got Trent to come with me. Are you hurt or something?” the boy’s sister asked. She also was a slim young woman, slightly shorter than her brother, being slightly younger than him and Terros as well. On her back, she wore a cerise backpack, identical to her brother’s in everyway except colour. Her chocolate brown hair fell down to her voluptuous hips. Terros was gob smacked; he never really befriended or seen on that matter, a girl around his age. With the exception of Ivy of course.

And this girl was rather attractive.

Terros tried to form audible words but all that came out was an amorphous so called “sentence” consisting of gibberish. The girl sighed. She then opened her mouth to speak again.

“CAN YOU HEAR ME?” she said loudly at Terros, making strange gestures as if he was deaf. Her brother groaned as he slapped his head.

“He’s not deaf you know Eliza. Now can you stop flapping your arms and making us look like idiots?” Trent said coolly. Eliza glared daggers at him before she shot back a retort.

“Well how would I know that? It’s not like he’s speaking or anything! You’re the idiot moron!”

Trent growled. “Me a moron? Look whose talking you tattletale!”

“Am not!”

“Am so!”

“Am not!”

“Am so!”

Eliza took a deep breath. Her eyes flared with anger and rage. By the expression by the expression of her face, she looked like she could kill. She seethed as her words hissed through her mouth.

“Well, you idiotic dense thickhead, I think you’re an absolute-”

“Um, do you happen to know where we are?”

Eliza and Trent stopped looking at each other. Eliza’s face suddenly changed incredibly fast from the wrath-of-fury to the happy-to-meet-you expression. Her porcelain face lit up in a smile as she spoke to Terros in an excited voice.

“Oh! So you can talk! See I was right Trent!”

Trent snorted. “Excuse me? You were one who was asking if he was deaf!”

“Am not!”

“Am so!”

“Am not!”

“Am so!”

“Am not!”

“Um, guys? You haven’t answered my question yet!”

Trent glared at Eliza once more before answering Terros’s question.

“Dude, you are at the Goldenrod entrance or exit of the Ilex Forest. Just walk a bit more from here and you’ll reach where Eliza and I live, Goldenrod City”

So that’s where I am… At the famous Ilex Forest. The Elders taught us about it and the famous time travelling Celebi…

Terros was about to say thank you to the two when he finally noticed the two strange creatures that were by Trent and Eliza’s side. One resembled a weed of sorts; its main body was an indigo colour. It had two small legs and it did not have arms. Its timid face looked back up to the equally timid Terros. Most startlingly, its most extravagant feature was a few thick big leaves; emerald with a gossamer like texture. Yet Terros can tell they were extremely resilient and strong; deadly if used properly.

The other was an even more bizarre looking creature. It looked like an overgrown seed, well actually a sprout. It did not have arms or legs. Its body was just a relatively enormous yellow seed with two colossal black cheerful eyes. From its head, or body to tell the truth, there was a sapling which shone in a light green colour. The sapling obviously, like the other one’s leaves, if used properly, was deadly.

Terros stared at the two. Pokemon... he thought with awe. He never actually thought he would have seen one in his lifetime. He tried to say something but he couldn’t; his throat was dry. He couldn’t say much but he could tell one thing; he was definitely not home.

"Who will buy my sweet red roses? A bouquet for a dollar!" was the shout of a merchant lady in the town square.

The day was Saturday in Lavender Town, and every Saturday all the merchants came in to sell their things. Being a small city, and located in a somewhat out-of-the-way location, one would think business would be terrible. Fortunately, people like gimmicks like haunted houses, antiques, and things like that. Lavender Town just had all that. It was one of the oldest towns in the entire region. People flocked to that kind of stuff.

As the two new companions entered the town, Cassie turned to Aiden and muttered, "I must be going. My parents own the new theater in town, and I'm supposed to be in a play." Without another word, she turned and ran off, apparently not good at goodbyes. Then again, who is?

Aiden strolled through the city, observing all the changes and things. As he came to the large Pokemon Tower, he noticed it was still a resting place for pokemon. In his time, people had desecrated the ominous tower and turned it into a radio tower.

Shrugging it off, he continued his tour of the flourishing town. To himself, he muttered, "It's amazing how things will change over a mere one hundred years."

The Lavender Town he had known was basically home to the spirits. No one lived there, except for the channelers. Everyone had left the town for some reason. Aiden never found out why. He always assumed with the absence of pokemon, people didn’t want to be reminded of their faults so they left.

Such is human nature, though.

“Swoooooooosh,” was a sound heard through the air, as Aiden looked to his left and noticed a baseball ball about to impact him. The ball was about to hit him when suddenly he turned transparent, and then reappeared. It went right through him, like a bad meal.

The ball hit the grass abruptly, and rested on the grass until its owner came to retrieve it. As not to be noticed by the said-owner, Aiden quickly fled the scene, and ran to the market, where a burly man with a strange mustache was auctioning off a rocking chair.

Decus continued down the path, heading towards some place called Ecruteak City. After his strange encounter with the lightly armored beast nearly an hour ago, his mind was buzzing with questions and confusion. He had no goals or ultimate destinations - had no idea where he was supposed to go or what he was supposed to do. He wondered where the others who had fled through the portal ended up. He didn’t really care if they were with him or not, just where they were and what they were doing. Did they have any idea what they were supposed to do?

The path was monotonous and boring. It cut through a seemingly endless plain with hillocks and trees and stones bespattered amongst the grass. The road barely turned or flexed most of the time, and it was not long at all before the mutant became agitated. He hadn’t seen any other strange beasts, another mutant, or even a human. Just trees.

“My own time was more favorable than this,” he growled, angular eyes narrowing. “At least there was some action.” With those thoughts in his head he walked on, until finally, in the distance, he saw the pinpoint of a figure walking on the road, coming towards him. It wasn’t long t all before he came into proper view, and Decus instantly recognized him as a human. Instinctively, his muscles tensed and a growl formed in the back of his throat. His pace decreased into more of a skulk.

But the human didn’t look threatening at all. It was a young man, younger than Decus probably, but not by much. He was striding along, merrily, for he had a smile on his face and a certain brightness that the mutant could not place. The breeze didn’t even ruffle his short blonde hair, though it did give motion to his blue leggings and similarly colored shirt. He had a backpack of sorts hanging behind him, and his thumbs were hooked on the straps.

He gave a wave as he approached Decus, one that was not returned.

“Heading to Ecruteak?” he asked as the gap between them diminished. Decus nodded, remaining careful. “just left there myself, nice little town. You challenging the gym there?” He was no mere feet away from Decus, and he stopped to chat.

“What?” Decus snapped. The young man was only slightly taken aback by the rude response. Decus, obviously, had no idea what he was talking about.

“I guess you aren’t from around here? Ecruteak city is home to a gym - a pretty tough one if I do say so… say, are those.. Horns?” the human asked. Decus took a step back, ready to strike. “They look pretty real, where’d you get them?”

“Where…?” Decus started, thinking the question absurd. His adrenaline was started to slow, though, and he started to piece things together. “I’ve always had them,” the mutant said, more calmly but still with a twinge of a growl in his voice. “I don’t know,” he added.

“Ah, too bad, my brother would probably like something like that,” the human said absent-mindedly. “Ah well, best be off then - Olivine awaits. Take care.” And with that, he strode off, leaving an utterly perplexed Decus in the middle of the road. He had never before encountered a human that wasn’t fearful or hostile towards him. The encounter had shaken his understanding of the world.

“Pathetic,” he murmured as the figure disappeared into the distance.

A few minutes later he was atop a hill, and the road crept down its slope into a city beyond. Even from his distance, Decus could tell it was unlike any city he ever knew. It wasn’t a dilapidated pile of wreckage and refuse. It was fully constructed, operational, and most likely populated.

“But for how long,” Decus wondered.
