If there were a "real" pokemon world would it be possible to ride upon those two pokemon? Pidgeot is technically only 4'11" and it is always seen carrying people on its back, and these two are well over 5 feet.

Thanks

4'11 is an average, not all of them are that size. that is also how tall he is, i beleive a person could ride on a pidgeot. and crobat, would it be easy? maybe not very comfortable.

As why can a small pidgey learn fly in the game, well that is mostly a game mechanic.

We've seen Winona ride on Skarmory in the anime, but I do not know if that counts since Pokemon tend to be different sizes in the anime (Drews Roselia for example).

No it would not be possible to ride on them in real life. There to small, buts a game programming, anything that is a flying type can use fly.

The size in the pokedex is an average like sdp said. An average sized Pidgeot wouldn't be able to carry a grown man but one the size of Ash's could pull a blimp.

With Crobat it's a different story. The 4'11 is mostly made up of its wingspan. Its body is very small and I doubt there would be a giant Crobat in real life anyway. Bats aren't supposed to be large because most feed on tiny insects. I may be wrong as I'm not a bat expert.

Crobat is actually 5'11" and Skarmory is 5'7" I never said Crobat was 4'11"

This makes Crobat an entire foot bigger than Pidgeot, and Skarmory the size of a Charizard. I guess I should rephrase, in the Pokemon anime, are people able to ride upon Crobats or Skarmory? I've never seen that happen yet, though the sizes are exaggerated in the case of Pidgeot (or the characters are all short?), people are obviously able to ride upon Pidgeot, Charizard, etc.

Yeah, but her Skarmory was abnormally huge! I think we could ride on Crobat. I mean Brock's Crobat was really big! Didn't you see the episode I think when Ash was trying to keep a plane's engine from falling off and Brock called Crobat out to hold onto Ash and keep him steady. That thing was like twice his size!

You're right it was way too big.
Crobat doesnt seem comfortable to sit on it.

what difference does it makes anyway? there's no such thing as a real-life crobat or a real-life skarmory, as sad as that may be!

I dont think that you can ride upon Crobat, but it is able to carry you through the air and fly you to other places. You would hold his two "leg-wings" with your hands and with his other two wings, Crobat would still be able to fly. It's body is too small and has a bad shape for riding purposes IMO.

Perhaps you just hold onto their feet and they airlift you, rather than flying on the smaller one's backs.
just like in the manga. f you look, Janine is hanging off her Crobats feet. Skarmory could locks its tolons on your shoulders, and carry you that way, like Red's Aero.

You probably wouldn't be able to ride on Crobat, because Crobat is almost entirely wing, and dosn't actually have much as a body. It also has rather low defences, which suggests that it's anatomy is fragile, and it would need a sturdy anatomy in order to be ridden.
Skarmory on the other hand is a possibility.

I assume a Crobat would carry you with it's feet. It may be stronger than it looks. As for Skarmory, I think it would have to hold you as I'm sure you wouldn't want to sit on knife-like wings!

Errrrr..... Crobat dosn't have feet, except in the 3D games, and even then they are pathetically tiny and look incapable of lifting anything.

Pokemon would either have to be unnaturally strong, which sounds stupid, or they have to be on steroids to lift somthing like that.

I looked it up in the pokedex, Crobat is 165 pounds and Pidgeot is only 87!!!
