Slaking

I'm ChunkyBob <RSPCT
Two slakings:

IVs:

1)HP21 ATK/DEF/SPD:31 Spatk:16 Spdef:20
2)HP/ATK/SPD:31 DEF:24 SPatk/SPdef:23

I'm training both, but I need EV distributions

I finished EVing them 6HP, 252ATK, 252SPD but I think I should run some EVs into SPDef because its like 150 at level 100. I don't wanna take out too much EV from attack, because its gonna OHKO most things anyway with CB, I plan to use it in Battle Pyramid (I have sufficient berries for re EVing)

the attacks on both are: Rock Slide, Earthquake, Return, Shadow Ball. I am open to suggestions except: no Brick Break, I'll consider Double-Edge instead of return though.

cheers, so I shouldn't take any EVs and put it in SP def? I think I'll keep rockslide then

Keep Return,Earthquake,and Shadow Ball,and use Rock Slide as Slaking's Final Filler Move.

Dont' count on Rock Slide too much,unless you're talking about Articuno,Regice,Dewgong,Lapras and Walrein then feel free to Rock Slide them.

I like Fire Blast more since it destroys Skarmory.

hmmm. on anything other than articuno:

return with STAB: 102*1.5=153
SE rock slide: 75*2=150

in summary, don't use rock slide on slaking.

i actually use aerial ace as the filler move, as it's a good way to deal with all the haxy double-teamers in the battle tower. don't do that competitively, though.

Focus Punch is always nice to counter Snorlax,Slakings,and the occasional Umbreon.

Aerial Ace can work since there a lot of Double Teamers,usually Umbreon and Meganium.

thanks guys, I'll use one fire blaster and one rock slider. If I don't use rock slide, should I use aerial ace, or what other options are there WhiteWizard42?

I can understand focus punch against slaking, punch it while its loafing but the others, I always seem to not hit well, it flinches most of the time, frontier is too unpredictable, unless you can suggest a way it can work? curse lax is sorta rare isn't it? but it really sounds delicious against curse lax lmao

slaking's last move option is pretty much a pointless thing in-game. in netbattle, you can outpredict your opponent with focus punch, and you face a lot of steel-type physical walls to fireblast away. not so much in the frontier.

as i said, i prefer AA.

using focus punch on slakings only works if you switch in on them. otherwise, you're loafing the same turns they are. FPing snorlaxen is effective, but only if they curse, in which case it's not an OHKO after all. return does the job fine. won't deny it wrecks umbreon, though.

Actually, RS does more than STAB Return to Articuno

STAB Return: 102*1.5=153
RS on Articuno: 75*4=300

But you won't see Articuno everywhere, so I suggest AA too.
Edit: Never mind. I re-read WhiteWizards post, sorry.

rock slide will do more damage than EQ/return/shadow ball to:

aerodactyl, articuno, delibird, charizard, moltres, ho-oh, and flying/bug types.

Why are Lunatone and Solrock listed there? They're Rock/Psychic... Also, Skarm takes more damage from Return than Rock Slide.

Also, why does this matter? Return/Double-Edge OHKOs everything listed above except Aerodactyl. (Return/Double-Edge is a 2HKO on Aerodactyl)

Therefore, Rock Slide is redundant.
