Doesn't this look like such a funny series? I haven't seen it yet, but I've thought of watching it (I hope Central Park Media still has the DVDs). I also think they should show this on Cartoon Network (I know they have it on The Anime Network, but sadly, I don't have that channel :().

Yeah if they showed it on cartoon network I wouldn't have to wait for weeks just to see the next episode.

It's obvious I'm a slayers fan just look at my sig. Lina Inverse is the greatest!

I made a slayers thread a few months ago but it died. Hopefully this one will stay up.

I'm a fan of Slayers for some time... Infact, it was of the first series I've seen subbed... I have all the movies, and the first two seasons... I'm currently looking for the Motion Picture (They have a movie set, but I'd have to repurchase all of the movies again) and the rest of the series. I believe try is the last series left... (I have up to [spoil]They defeat the rezo clone[/spoil])

Slayers Gorgeous is by far the best movie btw... I absolutely love it...

Wow... lol. I heard Slayers Great was the best movie for obvious reasons...

I've only seen The Slayers so far and it's now my most favorite anime eva. (Mainly cuz of Lina Inverse.)

I still need to see Slayers Next, Slayers Try, the movies, and the ovas... Maybe anime network will play em all? (Yeah right...)

I've seen Slayers on Comcast on demand here. but I wish they could show it on Toonami because it isn't that bad. It's pretty funny actually.

It's sad that there's only three tv series. They shoulda made a fourth one cuz I heard that they didn't explain everything about the characters. They still had a lotta stuff to reveal about their world too but didn't.

I skipped the first series and went straight to NEXT, then to TRY. Plus I've seen the first two movies. NEXT and TRY are brilliant. Seriously, if you haven't seen them and you like/are interested in Slayers, you should definately see them. They're hilarious, and a later episode of NEXT made me cry (I don't cry often)...

So, yeah. I love Slayers and highly recommend watching it. I'd say it's too old for Adult Swim (the language would keep it off from regular CN/Toonami), but if it is just now getting Neon Genesis Evangelion, who knows? ^.~

Toonami was trying to get the rights to air it a couple of years ago, but when Fox Kids found out that CN wanted the show, they swooped in and grabbed the rights to it. This is one reason the network doesn't announce series until they've actually signed all the paperwork.

Lina Inverse

Slayers is the anime that brought Megumi Hayashibara fame when she cast in it as Lina Inverse, the main character of the anime.

Back to the topic, Slayers isnt as nice as next/try and try isnt as interesting as next. So far, the series of Slayers i am the most interested in will be Next. It gives more personalities to Lina and Zelgadiss and i personally feel that they have a better/more intriguing adventures in it.

Slayers OST 1, Get Along is the nicest of all 3 series of Slayers.

I also remember that Slayers is the anime that made me despise Lisa Oritz with all my heart. She really is one of the worst VA's in the business.

There are more details on the world in the novels and manga (especially the novels). In terms of the characters, the ending was left very open, but it was strongly implied that it was the end (you'll know what I mean when you see the ending). I won't go any farther since it sounds like most of you haven't seen through TRY.

I believe the Japanese producers said it was originally aimed at 12-year-olds.

But yes, Slayers is my favorite anime. And I strongly recommend the novels, translated by TOKYOPOP. Unfortunately, there is a rumor that TOKYOPOP will stop publishing them after the sixth (there are 15 in the main series). So, everyone go buy novels to increase the sales figures! (laughs)

I heard the edits that fox made. Some of the words for the dragon slave was changed. Like I heard that "crimson blood that flows through" was changed to crimson water. (seriously is sayin red blood that much of a big deal? 0_0 )

Anyway, someone needs to pick it up, anime network didn't even update last week or this week. And Slayers was removed from the ****** list... It betta come back with episode 22.

Thing is, Slayers is too old for Toonami to consider. They don't want any shows that are older than 2003 unless they got it from another network (i.e. One Piece) or anything that isn't Dragon Ball.

I'd say Lina's 'weakness' and the occasional mild obscenity in the dub could be enough to get it on AS. Keep in mind, they have aired the watered down Toonami version of the Outlaw Star dub there before, so it doesn't necessarily have to be "adult." The fact that Fox snatched it up could work in the series' favour... but, I'm not exactly hopeful that it will happen.

Hmm... I wonder if I can find the complete series tv series in best buy or somethin or maybe Sam goodies. The anime is old so I might not find it.

I gotta question. Which one of Lina's outfits did you prefer? The one she wore in the movies and oavs when she was with Naga, or the one she wears in the anime series? I like the anime series outfit betta cuz she looks more mystic and majestic.

Slayers isn't any more adult than shows like Naruto or Gundam SEED, and both of those shows went to Toonami.

Keep in mind, they have aired the watered down Toonami version of the Outlaw Star dub there before, so it doesn't necessarily have to be "adult."

They only aired the Toonami version of Outlaw Star (and 0083 and Pilot Candidate and Tenchi) to fill time, since, at that time, they didn't have as many shows to choose from.

Just joined a couple days ago. I really need to buy the series, I've grown on the Lina/Gourry shipping. XD
