Bewear my power
Once again, I have unleashed an RP. I had originally done this one in the past, but it died out...so I'm reviving it!
Due to the new amounts of rules, however, there will be some extra rules this time (hey, I didn't make the rules, believe me).
1. Follow all forum rules. Self-explanitory.
2. No bunnying without permission.
3. No internet slang (like "LOLZ" or "I n v u"), also known as "text language".
4. Posts must be 3-4 paragraphs long. If all you can do is dialogue, add a flashback or something to take up space.
5. The RP is rating PG-13, so don't go overboard with things like swearing (block it with *'s if you want to play it safe).
6. To avoid odd cliches (it's impossible for me to get that mark above the e. I did the plot in MS Word), you can't have uniforms that are all black. If the Cooper Gang can do it, so can you.
7. This is a Role-Playing GAME, so have fun.
Here's the plot/Cooper history:
*****
For thousands of years, ever since ancient Egyptian times, the family line of Cooper has used their signature “C” cane to commit crimes against evil. The line began with Slytankhamen the second, an Egyptian who pilfered from the evil in Egypt and founded the legendary birthright of the Cooper Clan: the Cooper Vault. The Vault was an incredibly large and deep-in vault that only a Cooper, with the signature cane, could open. The reward was an amount of riches too vast to describe.
Another being, however, has also been around for thousands of years…one more darker, sinister, evil. This being is Clockwerk, a massive owl who kept himself alive through hatred of the Cooper family line. Building himself a robotic body to preserve his immortality, Clockwerk began to hunt down and kill Cooper Clan members until one was left…one who had started a family.
Connor Cooper, father of Sly Cooper, was slaughtered by Clockwerk’s newly-founded gang: the Fiendish Five. Clockwerk then came upon the Cooper Clan’s family heirloom: the Thievius Raccoonus. It was said that whoever read the book would learn how to be a master thief. Unfortunately, young Sly only read several small portions of the book before the Fiendish Five slaughtered his parents and tore the book into pages, dividing it up amongst his fellow Fiendish Five members.
After ten years, Sly and his new friends, Bentley and Murray, tracked down the Fiendish Five members and defeated them all: Muggshot, Mz. Ruby, Panda King, Sir Raleigh and finally, Clockwerk himself. During the battle, Clockwerk revealed to Sly that he had purposely left the young Cooper alive in attempt to prove that without the Thievius Raccoonus, the Cooper Clan was nothing. Before defeating him, Sly replied that it took great thieves to make the Thievius Raccoonus, not the other way around. Clockwerk was then broken into many pieces…
…which were stolen, two years later, by the insidious Klaww Gang, headed by a parrot named Arpeggio. Like the Thievius Raccoonus before him, Clockwerk’s parts were divided up amongst the Klaww Gang members. Dimitri, lounge lizard and former artist, took Clockwerk’s tail feathers. Rajan, self-proclaimed “lord of the hills of India”, took Clockwerk’s wings and heart, dividing the latter into two halves. The Contessa, double-agent prison warden working for both the Klaww Gang and the international police unit known as Interpol, received Clockwerk’s hypnotic eyes. Jean Bison, prospector frozen in an avalanche during the Gold Rush, received Clockwerk’s robotic lungs, stomach, and talons. Finally, Arpeggio took what was left: Clockwerk’s brain.
As Sly, Bentley and Murray defeated the Klaww Gang members one-by-one, stealing their Clockwerk Parts in the process, an Interpol Constable named Neyla aided them. During their raids against Rajan, however, Neyla double-crossed both the Cooper Gang and Interpol in one fell swoop, allowing the Contessa to take both them and Inspector Carmelita Fox—whom Neyla framed—to the Contessa’s prison, from which the Cooper Gang later escaped.
After coming to Arpeggio’s blimp, it was revealed that Neyla had been Arpeggio’s protégé the entire time, as well as that Arpeggio planned to fuse himself to the completed Clockwerk Frame and become immortal. A problem for the flightless parrot emerged, however, when Neyla knocked his carrier down and fused with Clockwerk herself, transforming herself into an abomination calling itself “Clock-La”. The newly-born Clock La then killed Arpeggio, crushing him in her beak, and then directed her sword of hate towards the Cooper Gang.
With help from Carmelita, Sly and the Gang destroyed Clock-La, the original Neyla along with it. The destruction of Clock-La came at a terrible price, however: Clock-La’s beak fell upon Bentley’s legs, crushing them and leaving him paralyzed from the waist down from that day onward. Blaming himself, Murray left the Gang and traveled to Australia, participating in the aborigine art of Dreamtime, guided by a mystical being known as “the Guru”.
Murray did so well in merely a year that the Guru sent him on an aboriginal walk to complete the training. Murray, finding himself in Venice, Italy, at first refused to help the gang defeat tar-pumping mob boss Octavio, preferring to refrain from violence at the request of the Guru. When Octavio injured Bentley, however, Murray’s temper finally broke free, and the Murray the Gang knew had returned, fighting and defeating Octavio.
Although Murray had indeed returned, he did not feel entirely comfortable with breaking off his training without permission from the Guru. Agreeing to help him, Sly and Bentley took him to Australia in search of the Guru, only to find that opal-seeking miners had taken over the area and imprisoned the Guru. The Gang struck a deal with the Guru: in return for clearing the miners out of the Australian Outback, the Guru would help the Gang with their future job: freeing the Cooper Vault from the horrible grasp of corrupted member of Sly’s father’s gang, Dr. M.
After destroying a demonic entity known as the Mask of Dark Earth, as well as clearing out all the miners, the Guru joined the Cooper Gang. Later, Bentley began seeking out a radio control vehicle artist to assist with the Cooper Vault job. He found one in the form of Holland woman Penelope, mechanic to one of the greatest pilots Holland has ever known: the Black Baron. Penelope issued a challenge to the Gang: if they could defeat the Black Baron in his dogfight competition, ACES, she would join the Gang.
After Sly proved his piloting skills surpassed that of the Black Baron, the two got into a fight, where Sly triumphed and it was revealed that there was no true Black Baron: only Penelope in disguise, avoiding the strict age requirements that dogfight competitions had. She agreed to join the Gang, and fell in love with Sly, much to the chagrin of Bentley, who himself had feelings for Penelope.
Later, Bentley broke the news to Sly that they had to recruit former Fiendish Five member: the Panda King. Understandably upset, Sly protested, but Bentley was firm. Traveling to China, the Panda King agreed to join the Gang if they would perform a favor for him: free his daughter, Jing King, from the grasp of Chinese warlord General Tsao.
After Sly defeated Tsao, Panda King joined the Cooper Gang. Later, Dimitri—who, by this time, had left the Klaww Gang—was proposed a place in the Gang as an undersea diver. He agreed, but like Panda King, Penelope and Guru, he had a condition: the Gang was to retrieve Dimitri’s grandfather’s diving gear from pirate Black Spot Pete.
In a “conversation” with Pete, Sly learned that he had lost Reme Lousteau’s diving gear to the self-proclaimed “smartest man on the seven seas”: Captain LeFwee. LeFwee indeed proved to be living up to his reputation, nearly killing several members of the Cooper Gang as they fought him. In the end, Penelope defeated LeFwee in a showdown atop the mast of his own ship, the Death’s Hen. LeFwee fell into the water and was eaten by sharks, never to be heard from again.
At Kaine Island, home of the Cooper Vault, the Cooper Gang encountered Dr. M and his army of genetic nightmares, beings spliced with other beings to create horrible hybrid abominations. The Gang did indeed defeat Dr. M, though it took some time and effort. Inside the very Cooper Vault, Dr. M and Sly had a confrontation. At the end, Sly took a fireball blow to protect Carmelita, faking amnesia afterwards in attempt to become emotionally closer to her.
After Sly left his equipment behind, the Cooper Gang separated once again, this time all members except Bentley and Penelope going their separate ways. Murray completed his training with the Guru and began racing with the personalized team van, though he is still able to come back into the Gang whenever Sly Cooper—not the Constable Cooper Carmelita led him to believe he was—resurfaces. Panda King returned to China to live two doors down from his daughter, screening all suitors willing to marry her (as of yet, Jing King remains unmarried).
Dimitri went on to become a professional skim diver, allowing his two favorite things—money and women—to gallop to him in droves. The Guru eventually took a rock band on in Dreamtime training, which brought quite a bit of unwanted media attention that caused him to hide out in Central Park, New York (he figured it was the last place the media would ever look). Bentley and Penelope began construction of a new Cooper Vault, one with more powerful security than the last.
This break would not last long, however. Shortly after the Cooper Vault Job, Sly’s equipment was found gone. In its place was a note saying:
“I’ll bring the stuff back when your friend ‘Constable’ Cooper comes back.
--the Thiever.
P.S: you’ll hear of me again.”
It turned out that this new thief’s words were true. With Sly’s equipment in his possession, "The Thiever" committed various types of crimes against evil across the world. At the same time this happened, however, Dr. M—who had survived the original Cooper Vault closing in on him—organized an incredibly large gang of thieves calling itself the “Master Minds”. The Master Minds consisted of nearly all their old foes, along with other dark criminals they had never faced before.
Aspiring to meet “The Thiever”, Bentley began tracking his or her records. Reports showed that the Thiever was male, somewhat young, and never left an area until all loot to be stolen from an evil thief was taken. More than once he had encountered Inspector Fox and “Constable” Sly Cooper…more than once Thiever had evaded capture by the two, utilizing the Cooper Cane to his advantage.
Bentley and Penelope called back Murray, and the three began planning on how to find the Thiever. With the looming threat of the Master Minds…
…the Cooper Gang would need all the help it would get, from old friends to new ones.
