Started squeeeing when they got Ryu details. I actually laughed when they said you could do the original button input for Hadouken to get a better attack. Then, with all the other things they did I realised the actually paid a lot of attention to Ryu. He can combo well, has a half-decent projectile and good kill moves. His focus attacks can stop Warlock Punch and counter, meaning that it can be used to stop anything and reverse it to prevent rollspam and initiate mindgames. He even turned Marth's shield breaker into a punch.
The only weakness I see so far is vertical recovery, as regular Shoryuken does not travel far at all. However, Hurricane Kick plus boost Shoryuken should suffice.
Time will tell just how well he translates to smash, and how hard he is to master. Until then, he's looking like a new main.

Also is anyone else disappointed that Ryu doesn't have Ken alts? Seems like the most obvious choice since Lucina being considered as a Marth alt.

Yeah, the Rhythm Heaven songs are on Miiverse, which has 13 songs total (still would have preferred Monkey Watch on Dream Land). Miiverse itself is currently not showing any comments, which is understandable.

Roy's tagline is a reference to his sword and game how did I not notice?

Kinda like how Roy's kinda got a little bit of his Awakening look to him,but I would have preferred his original look.His Critical Hit is also his crit animation when he's a Great Lord,so that's a nice touch.

He has a colour scheme based off Binding Blade Marcus,Fire Emblem 7 Eliwood,Binding Blade Zephiel and Serra.No idea why he has a Serra one,but still cool nonetheless.

Updates are really slow. I haven't gone through the Wii U Plaza yet because it's still downloading the free stuff and what not.

it's because people keep hammering the eShop trying to buy characters, and they're all being stymied by the utterly assbackwards way that the eShop handles DLC and updates, especially on the ancient 3DS hardware

while we're on the subject of being helpful and not kvetching about important information, the Ryu Stage remix was composed by Yoko Shimomura, while the Ken Stage remix was composed by Rio Hamomoto

After 3 hours later, I somehow managed to brute force my way in to the eShop and got all the stuff I wanted.

The only thing I never am going to get are the outfits. I don't see the point if they can't be used for random online matches, and I hardly see someone else ready to battle in my FC list.

Same. I will probably never get the outfits, or the stages, come to think on it. I have better stuff to spend my money on. Also, I just realised I need another eShop card before I can get Ryu.

I did not want to listen to that remix, but now that I know it was done by Shimomura, I have to listen to it.

That woman is a beast.

Been playing with Roy for a bit now, and he feels stronger than Marth/Lucina. Of course, the fire might just make it seem like that, but still. Does anyone have numbers or a better analysis?

Didn't buy Ryu (nor Lucas) yet, didn't have more on my account. Is Ryu any good? He seemed to be a pain to get used to, but with high benefits.
