Smeargle moveset

Smeargle was almost useless in 3rd gen with its meager stats, but I think I have figured out how to make a really powerful smeargle moveset.
dpmfb235.png

Smeargle:Salacc berry
Jolly/Timid nature Spd HP Evs
Power swap
Flare blitz
Hydro pump
Protect

1st turn use power swap and take the opponents Atk and SpAtk stats. Then next turn smash them with hydro pump or flare blitz, protect if you need to defend yourself.
Of course the attacking moves are personal preferance, anything powerful that covers a lot of types will do eg:Wood hammer,Volt tackle,Close combat,Brave bird,Spacial rend,Head smash,Earthquake,Fire Blast,Seed flare,Ice beam,Thunderbolt. Protect can be replaced with spore to imobilise the opponent first. Tell me what you think of this.

..You knwo that using hydro pump is classified as being a noob when you are on SPPF.

Anyway, this is my idea of a good smeargle:

jolly/timid
Focus band
EVs: Speed, HP
Spore
Spider web/Mean look
Lock-on/mind reader
sheer cold

I like that one for a Smeargle set since Smeragle can't do any real damage. ;D

I'm sorry, but this is stupid, Lock On- Sheer Cold is just noobish, yea it lacks offensively, but with spore and mean lock, and Sesimic Toss or Night Shade, it makes up and can actauly do something, other than that, Smeargle can be a BPer, Spore, Sub, somehting....you spore sub, then do the move you like, then BP it.

What's so noobish about Lock-On and Sheer Cold? It works.

However, the problem with that first Smeargle there is that Power Swap switches stat changes (such as Swords Dance) with the opponent, not the stats themselves. I originally had an idea for a Smeargle with Power Swap, Guard Swap, Cross Chop, and Aeroblast, but I've had to come up with something more...suicidal.

What's noobish about it is that it's an auto two turn OHKO that can't be stopped by anything but a scarce ability (and possibly something like Protect, but I don't know). It's unfair.

I've been wondering about a random Smeargle set or two for just a random battle with a friend, and I have to say, it's fun to work with.

Lessie, a random one...Mmmm...
@Focus Sash
Explosion
Pain Split
Toxic
Whirlwind/Protect/Wring Out/Etc

Not saying that's an ideal set, just...an example.

Smeargle's fun.

darksteelix

Zer0 pwns you
this is the set i thought Smeargle should use
*seismic Toss
*protect
*Detect
*Toxic

Sorry about that I didnt know how power swap worked, I thought heart swap did the stat change swapping.

Why? When loads of team raters recommend it on certain movesets?

I thought nooby things were 'lots of damage, but no tactics'

If that smeargle is nooby, i think wobbufett is, too.

Ho-hum?

Well, hydro pump is strong, but has only 5 PP, and misses quite often.
Most veterans prefer flamethrower over fire blast, ice beam over blizzard, T-bolt over thunder, surf over hydro pump and so on.

The thing is, when we're discussing this in a non-RMT forum, this thread kinda fails. Scepgatr's set is the only working set for Smeargle here.

Pokemon trainer uses switch command (before a trapping move) or kill command because smeargle is too frail to set up that. Also, pokemon with the sturdy ability laugh and laugh at it.
this is the set i thought Smeargle should use
*seismic Toss
*protect
*Detect
*Toxic

Protect/detect run on the same index so if you used protect, then used detect, detect would have its chance to work limited.

Smeargle should only every be using sets like such
Smeargle @Salac Berry
-Spore
-Belly Drum/Tail glow (or nasty plot)
-Substitute
-Baton Pass

Or
@Salac berry
-Endure
-Endeavor/Reversal
-Extremespeed
-Spore

Smeargle Doesn't have the stats to pull off anything else

Unlucky_Absol

Objection!
;359; Here is my smeargles moveset...

Smeargle@Leftovers
Cosmic power
Leech Seed
Ingrain
Toxic/Will-o-Wisp

Of course It doesn't work TOO Well, Because you need a pokemon with more Def & Sp.Def But It sure Is annoying. ;359;
