BTW,I made this because the IV/EV/DV Thread didn't show off Trainers,and other Wild Pokemon that give off good Ev's.

Didn't list Legendary Pokemon because nobody would kill them for Ev's.

Don't forget that Macho Brace and Pokerus(if you are lucky) are your friends.

Macho Brace and Pokerus double the Ev's you get from defeating a Pokemon.


The Ev Berries:

#21 Pomeg Berry(reduces HP by 10 Ev Points)
#22 Kelpsy Berry(reduces Attack by 10 Ev Points)
#23 Qualot Berry(reduces Defense by 10 Ev Points)
#24 Hondew Berry(reduces Sp.Attack by 10 Ev Points)
#25 Grepa Berry(reduces Sp.Defense by 10 Ev Points)
#26 Tamato Berry(reduces Speed by 10 Ev Points)

You forgot to add (the most important) Zubat at Alterning Cave and Lombre at Rotue 114

Or Gabby&Ty against Exploud and Magneton (They were very useful when I trained my Ampharos)

training for both SAtk/Spd is pretty common, so you may want to add new mauville. magnemite gives SAtk and voltorb gives Spd.

it's not good for pure stat training, but it's great for any special sweepers.

Another thing to note when EV training for specific amounts such as 252 attack/speed & 4 HP, you may want to use the 4 HP first on a marill or 2 whismurs, max out attack, give it a kelpsy berry, then regain 8 attack EVs, then max out speed.

You may want to mention how rt 118 (in the grass) is perfect for speed training since 99% of encounters give 1 or 2 speed EVs (Kecleon is the 1%).

the reason he didn't mention it is because altering cave is better. lower levels, easier pokemon, no static to deal with. also, no kecleons.

118 is a good place in R/S, though.

E4 Glacia gives 11 HP EV for you ;D

You might also add the EV given by Gym leaders re-batles.

You also may want to add to avoid trainer battles. You might get the wrong EV's. Exceptions are Secret Base training.

sealeo and glalie give 2 HP EVs each, walrein gives 3. (2*2) + (2*2) + 3 = 11

in other words, yes.

I'm not adding the Gym Leader re-battles,as they can get your Ev'd messed since you don't get the option to switch.

I added Gabby & Ty because they only use two Pokemon,in other words,here is how it works out:


Gabby & Ty sent out Magneton & Exploud.

Defeat Magneton or Exploud,then attack your own Pokemon to make it faint,and then finish off the remaining Pokemon Gabby & Ty have.

Making your own Pokemon faint will prevent the Ev's from getting messed up.

yes but you'll either have to defeat glacia with venusaur or send out and withdraw venusaur every time glacia sends out another pokemon

I suppose you could add Lombre, Route 114 for 2 EV's in Special Defence.

Route 114 is my favourite place for Sp. Def training, Swablu & Lotad give 1 EV, Lombre give 2 and aren't that uncommon really. So it's a nice place to train. Surfing is alright too but the slew of Wingull's and Pelipper's you have to go through is hideous. Nice thing about EV training though is it doesn't matter if you fight a Level 5 Zubat or a Level 100 Zubat. You still get 1 EV - that's so...um...nifty

venusaur will only get EVs from battles it gets EXP from. so if it's holding a macho brace, it can't also be holding an EXP share. which means that either venusaur will have to defeat glacia's team by itself, or it'll have to switch in whenever she sends something new out.

Venasaur must see part of each battle for it to gain the EV's when it is holding macho brace. Much like it must see battle to gain experience when holding an item other than the exp. share.
