For some reason I couldn't stand Ash catching this Snorlax when I first saw this episode and I think I know why now, it's because of how Snorlax ruined the islands with his overeating and caused so much damage to the grapefruit plantation. It just didn't feel like something that should've been celebrated but it felt that way when Ash decided to just catch Snorlax for himself.

Snorlax was already featured in Kanto so this episode which was almost a carbon copy of that one didn't seem very fun or even original. It was a half hour of watching Snorlax eating like crazy and Ash and his pals trying to save the grapefruit islands and Ash catching the Snorlax was the only way to do that. I didn't mind Ash getting Snorlax or anything. It's just that if I was Ash I wouldn't have captured a Pokemon with an insatiable appetite like that. 7/10

It would've been a problem if Kabigon's hunger had been a major subplot following this episode, but thankfully Satoshi hardly used Kabigon during the rest of this arc other than during the Kusaihana episode if I remember right, so those troubles didn't surface that often.

SNORLAX!!!!! I LOVE HIM!!! Why does Jigglypuff have to appear so much? At least it helped this time.
