Snagging Male Shadows

I've been trying to snag only male pokemon (for breeding purposes) during my XD adventure, which is going fine until now. I am currently on Citadark Isle stuck at Gorigan as I can't get his two shadows(Poliwrath and Mr. Mine). But anyway I can keep resetting for a while. But what is going to drive me mad is Eldes and Greevil. They each have a large number of pokes and the chances of getting them all male is very small.
SO what I was wondering is, w.r.t. Eldes and Greevil, if I fight and beat them but I K'O any of the female pokes, when i battle them again is there any chance that their pokemon will be male, or will they stay as female.

Am I crazy trying to catch only males? Should i give up now?

If you meet a female and you KO it it WILL stay the same when you meet it again.But I also have a question...If you catch male pokemon in pokemon XD and you breed it with a female (that is in the same egg group) ,will the pokemon that hatches learn all those moves like Heal Bell or Refresh, that the male pokemon had?

With Greevil you only need to worry about Exeggcutor and Rhydon. Tauros is male only and the legendary birds are genderless.

But the easy way is: (using Eldes and his Pokémon order shown in SPP's walkthrough as an example)

Save before battle
When he sends out Ninjask and Shadow Manectric, if Manectric is male, allow yourself to get beaten by Calling instead of attacking.
Save after losing to Ninjask and Manectric
Battle again, and beat one of the first two to see the next Pokémon (Shadow Salamence if he sticks to the order) If it's male, lose on purpose and save again. Repeat to get all shadows Male
If any of them are female, reset.

This way, after every save, there is a 50/50 chance you will need to reset, rather than a 1/16 chance that all are shadows without saving once.

I don't think that i can breed a, for example, purified male lapras with sing with a female lapras to get another lapras with sing, cos i tried that with my extremespeed linoone and i could't breed the move out. But some of the shadow pokemon know TM moves that i could breed around, saving me my TM's for 'real' pokes.
Also, taking the singing lapras example again, he could be used to breed sing onto someone else in his egg group who previoulsy couldn't due to it being in a different egg group, if u know what i mean. Hence why i want a male for breeding.

I know i could just catch them as female and then resart the XD game again and make sure i get them as male 2nd time around, put that would just take too much effort.

As far as I am aware, you couldn't breed altaria's heal bell onto another alatria but you could breed the other attacks onto another altaria. But it might be possible to breed heal bell onto another pokemon (besides altaria) woudl would could learn it by breeding regardless, but now the altaria might have other attacks it can breed onto the other poke, if you know what i am trying to say.

That has nothing to do with my way of doing it, you don't need to catch the shadows, seeing them is good enough to lock their gender

Thank you really much, i think I understand know.I will probably restart for male pokemons now too! I want all those special attacks!
