Sneasel's Ears

I've often wondered this point; why do Sneasel's ears look the way they do? One is long and pinkish feather-like and the other is just a stub.

Well, at some point during their lives they run their claws over their head and one of the ears gets lopped off by mistake :p

So it grows back after it evolves? Where'd you get that info?

She was joking. Take it with a pinch of salt. ;)

Sneasel's Ice type right? So it lives in cold areas, right? So, it has small ears to reduce heat loss. Maybe that feather isn't an ear. Ask Vycksta, she's a Sneasel expert.

I have no idea really... when I first saw sneasel, I thought those were supposed to be wings... but then I realized that sneasel cant fly.

Seems that i'm really getting known for my addiction to the Sharp Claw. ^^;

Anyways, Sneasel is based on the Kamaitachi. In appearence/personality the Kamaitachi wield sickles that can have a similar appearance to long leaves, travel in threes and... according to some tidbit of information I picked up in 2002, haven't seen since but at the same time cannot be dismissed as crap because there hasn't been anything to prove it WRONG... listen out for prey with one ear, using their sickles as some sort of "fine-tuner" to pin-point their location. Now as I believe that the pink "feathers" on Sneasel represent the sickles that the Kamaitachi wield, the one on its ear is based on the fact that the Kamaitachi use one ear for hearing/the sickles to "fine-tune" the location if need be... and the three on its back represent the facts that the Kamaitachi travel in threes/have three sickles.

Again, may I stress that there is nothing to prove this wrong so I shall stick by this until otherwise.

You, my friend, are quite smart. Have you ever thought of starting a thread of pokemon based off demons? Pokemon are, after all, parallel to demons.

greta_lover

I don't know........
Demons? Where did you get that idea?

Kitsune

This Place is Death.
It says that people BELIEVE they parallel demons, not that they actually do. It was under the controversy section.

Yet in the anime, it would seem they are slowly replacing real animals, wouldn't it?

Not entirely, no, they don't replace regular animals. It's just that Pokemon are focused on more than real animals. Yet in earlier episodes, you could hear birds chirping in the background. And there were also fish in the Cerulean Gym.

Oh my goodness -_- As someone stated, Pokemon are NOT demons! That's just what some people seem to think >_<

And you have to understand that in the Pokemon World, Pokemon basically ARE the animals of that world, so it's not like they're "replacing" them. And again, I really don't see how that would have anything to do with them being demons anyway...

*corrects your typo of Sneasel and thwaps with a dictionary*

Still sticking by what I put. Sneasel is heavily based on the Kamaitachi, even down to its Dark/Ice typing.

Okay, the Kamaitachi IS a demon, right? That's what I meant about a pokemon being based on a demon.

Kamaitachi is translated to "sickle weasel" and while they do have demonic tendencies when it comes to tracking and cutting their prey, they have never themselves been called demonic. However since dark is evil in Japan, I wouldn't argue if a person was to say that the Kamaitachi are demonic.

While i'm on the subject, did you know that the Kamaitachi inspired a Pokemon attack? Razor Wind to be precise. Cause while they lived in cold areas, when they attack they attacked with the help of the wind, using a tornado to help hide them. ^^
