• Hi all
Just a notice, we recently discovered that someone got into a moderator account and started hard deleting a load of key and legacy threads...around 150 threads have been lost dating back to 2007 and some weeks ago so we can't roll the forums back.
Luckily no personal data could be accessed by this moderator, and we've altered the permissions so hard deleting isn't possible in the future
Sorry for any inconvenience with this and sorry for any lost posts.

Congrats to Liverpool, but Cardiff could have won if not for Kenny Miller blasting over at the end of normal time, going for the spectacular instead of placing it in, as he usually does. You'dve thought he'dve learned from the last round, there's just no need to do that.

As for A.Gerrard missing his penalty.. it was never in any doubt was it. He was never, ever in a million years going to score that penalty, just because of his name, his family all supporting Liverpool. Anybody but Gerrard.

That was one heck of a cup final. Liverpool had most of the game, most of the attacking, but Cardiff just did not give up. Liverpool may have deserved to win...but I can't say Cardiff deserved to lose.

Off to AFC Wimbledon vs. Plymouth on Tuesday. Another ground off the list. The very long list...

Season is reaching its 'exciting' climax too, I like it when matches result in things actually happening, relegation etc.

EDIT: Cracking game at the top of the Primeira Liga!

I'm pretty good with the way that result went, we had a hell of a lot of young players on the pitch and a back for that hasn't played with each other before so we have quite a few positives to look at.

Robben is just quality all over though, so underrated.

our defence is just ridiculus only 2 good defenders are Van der wiel and Heitinga,
Mathijsen cant handle it anymore and pieters just came back from an injury

we have a few defensive talents(Bruma, van aanholt( both chelsea but on loan)
Kerim Rekik(Manchester city) Dico koppers, Ricardo van rhijn ( Both ajax) Stefan De vrij( feyenoord)

Then we have the problem Huntelaar/ V persie, both are doing great at their clubs, but i think we need huntelaar more he scores more than van persie in our team,
and it seems while gerrard and Lampard cant play together, we have the same problem with Sneijder and Vd vaart, then we have Nigel De jong and Mark van Bommel( probably Kevin Strootman after he retires which i think wil happen after the Ec) are decent Defensive Midfielders,

Kuyt no words for it he just cant handle it anymore :(, elia doesnt get any play time at Juventus and Affelay is injured,

and i find robben one of the best players in the world if he is not injured and in form

oh and we have to much good goal keepers :) Stekelenburg is our first while Tim Krul is doing fine at Newcastle and Vorm is doing great work at swansea+

Villas Boas sacked. Who do you want/expect to come in?

I'm hoping for Benitez myself, he might bring the best out of Torres.

Well it's confirmed that Di Matteo will take over for now, hard to say who might come in later. Honestly, who wants to coach Chelsea? They have the worst owner in modern history, and they will never win Champions League with Abramovich as the owner. Firing a coach every time you have a few bad results doesn't work. Why haven't Chelsea been good this season? Their core consists of a bunch of camels that are too old to perform like they did a few years ago. Drogba (33), Lampard (33) for example. The only player that has been good all through the season is Mata, and you don't win anything with one quality player.

Arsenal-fans and Spurs-fans should be happy now, no way Chelsea will reach a CL-spot now.

From what I read everyone's fighting for Guardiola nowadays, but he's never gonna leave Barcelona for any amount of money.

I think Benitez is a good option, after all, he did a very good job with Liverpool a few years back and knows what the English football is all about,

PSV Eindhoven 2-6 Twente Enschede, what in the hell?

Also cracking start to the Premier League by Pogrebnyak, he's one to watch out for in the future. Now if only his name was easier to spell...

Might as well announce the boys in the dressing room that run the club the joint managers. (Looks at Terry, Lampard, Drogba, Cole and Cech).

Jokes aside though, to answer the person who said who'd want to manage Chelsea? A lot of people, I mean seriously you're going to be there for a maximum of 2 years and you'll get paid off for about 10m at the end of it. Best of all no other clubs will hold the failure against your name as they know what Roman's like. Seems like a nice job to me.

i find it quite funny that p$v lost while they spend 26 million last summer( which is really high in Eredivisie standards) and they loste to a team which i only sold players and bougth 1 player i think ( Leroy fer)

My Club (ajax) played in the first half ridiculus, One mistake by ebicillio and Roda gets a goal by Malki, but later Ebicillio makes it 1-1 with an good strike on goal, later Anita makes it 2-1 by a good attack which began at anita, then Ebicillio scores the 3-1 and 4-1, and since Herenveen Drawed against ado the hague, whe now stand on the 4th place with only 5 points to the top,
:) next week Rkc at home shoudn't be a problem , but rkc is in form rigth now and ajax are not, i hope sulejmani is going to be ok, the whole season we suffer from injury's ( Sigthorsson and Boillessen and Boerigter and mabey Sulejmani) are now injured, which is mainly our key players :(

Still think there should be some sort of manager policy in England, and in the majority of the rest of Europe in fact. If you pick a manager you should be forced to stick with him until the end of a season at the very least. Also there shouldn't be any poaching of managers of other clubs, there are plenty of unemployed managers to go for. It's like a circus, all four Premier League casualties so far have very good cases that they were doing fine in their jobs. It's even worse elsewhere, Spain and Italy have ten and eleven managerial changes respectively already.

Wheew that was dangerously close. I am still kind of mad at Allegri for starting with Mesbah and El Shaarawi, the first donated a stupid penalty to Arsenal and generally turned our left side into a highway and the latter wasted a 100% goal chance and just played badly in general.

The game was really intense though, and both keeper made some really lucky saves. Overall, I'm glad you got through but we could've played so much better. Also, Robinho was absolutely rubbish tonight :/.

Went to AFC Wimbledon vs. Plymouth earlier. And Wimbledon played pants. Ah well, another ground off the list, a very small one at that.

Was a bit weird coming back from the match on the tube and seeing lots of Milan fans, fancy coming to another country just for a football game! Those guys must be quite rich. As for that game, Arsenal didn't go through as I expected but at least they boosted the coefficient a bit, plus that means more focus on finishing in the top four, so they can try again next season! And hopefully finish above Spurs at that!
