Soft-boiled(Poem)

So here's a poem of mine. People who have read it have not yet found out what it truly means, yes it's based on the Pokemon move, but I intended two different deep meanings to it. I don't know, maybe I wrote it poorly that's why people don't understand it. This is free verse, by the way.


Soft-boiled


Peel of my shell
And take a bite
Of the luscious custard
Held within
Forget your worries
Forget your wrath
And make yourself merry.
Go on and take a bite
But beware of the gifts I bear,
They contain peril beyond measure.
My gift is like a Trojan Horse.
And you may be left
Blissfully ignorant
Of imminent doom.

Softboil is supposed to heal, but you made it so that it can harm if eaten. And the Trojan Horse... I liked that.

As one who has lost more than one bitter battle with a Blissey, I must admit I peer at this through jaded lenses.

Hehe, glad to see you liked my writing. My peers liked it. (Of course I was silent about the Pokemon relatedness) I was hoping you'd like it too.

I wrote this while listening to a song satirizing drugs and when I browsed through the DataDex on my Netbattle file, I went, "Hey! I can write about a poem on Blissey's egg!" And I worked on it.

EDIT: I meant this poem to satirize drugs, by the way.

My peers said the poem had an erotic tone to it. -_- The only meaning they saw... I didn't even plan to put that kind of tone into it.
