Some random questions about past seasons in Pokemon

Ok one came up because of the Kyogre and Groundon/Team Aqua and Team Magma rerun that started today (it's on right now)

1. Both TA and TM are bad guys but Maxie says that their goal is to help the earth and humankind with Groundon. TA just wants to take over the Earth. Is TM just as bad as TA and just making excuses to say they are better than TA because they aren't as evil or are they really better than TA?

The next one goes waaaaayy back to season one. It's about Pikachu and the broken ketchup bottle. It just randomly popped into my mind at lunch.

2. What was the deal with that whole thing? Why was it so saddened when the bottle smashed in two?

Think of the Nazi's in real life, did they ever consider themselves evil? No.

It was just a comedy thing, to add some comedy to the whole drama thing with the fight between the two gyms.

TM are evil too, obviously, but think about the games. Depending on which version you're playing, one team, despite still being bad, kind of helps you against the other one, so they had to choose one to play that part in the anime.

That bottle was Pikachu's friend. When it was smashed in two, it was like Pikachu's best friend was killed.

I would like that episode to be shown on Jetstream, but I doubt it will happen.

i think its beacuse KETCHUP!! ASH KETCHUM sounds similar so maybe pikachu though it was another of ashs friend (it was funny when he cried after scyther cut the bottle )

Though that's kind of weird, considering that they were both the evil teams you fight against in Emerald. Considering that they were advertising their asses off for Emerald and made some last minute changes to the "original" plot they were going to have, like making Adan the Rune City Gym Leader instead of Mikuri (thus kind of ruining ruining that entire Groudon/Kyogre arc), I think that's kind of a waste that they made Aqua Gang sort of the "center" villains at the end (Aogiri being the one possessed by the Red Orb, while Matsubusa was watching in the sideline). It seems like a waste of good potential plot. :\ Props to the writers for keeping their extremist attitudes, though.

And the reason why Pikachu cried over the broken ketchup bottle was because it was a running gag that only appeared occassionally.

Why would the Japanese creators imcorporate Satoshi's English name into the running gag?
