First of all can some explain to me thouroly how to connect to wi fi, and can i do it from home on my computer? And second of all can i use wi fi to trade pokemon to and from other people on pokemon emerald using my nin. ds using wi fi?

Can you connect to WiFi from your home computer? I don't exactly know what you mean by that, but what you need is a WiFi compatible game (obviously) and there should be an option somewhere like "Configure Nintendo WiFi Settings". You need some sort of wireless internet connection in your house, and if you have some type of security setting (WPA WEP) type your code in the settings. I honestly don't know if any WiFi games work with WPA, but if you have WEP or no internet security at all you'll be fine. Hope this helps ^^
