Somethin' that really ticked me off...

Yesterday I went to go play my Silver version because I was bored and it was so long that I've played it. I turn it on and it only says "New Game" and "Options".

I turned it off and turned it back on. It said the same thing. I then took the carterage (sp?) out and blew it it to see if dust was to blame. Nope. My game had erased. >>; I had a shiny Furret on it too!

I started it over and then I caught some Pokémon and then saved because I was getting sleepy. I turned it off. The next morning I turned it on and it said "New Game" and "Options"! It won't save anymore! What should I do?

It's useless now. Completely useless. You could try to sell it at a garage sale for 50 cents or something...

And that's been happening to most G/S games that were bought around the time of release. I got mine a month after the release date and it died early this year.

Threads like this are endless! There should be a sticky about it. My gold also died last month, it's the internal battery, and there's almost nothing you can do besides getting a new G/S/C game if you can...

I've been seeing alot of these threads. This is the reason why I'd want to see a remake because G/S/C are my favorite games.

Anyway, I have a quick question. For a while now, I've been able to play my Silver fine and dandy, but if the game doesn't come on quite right (often due to how it went in), I lose the data. Is this a sign of my Internal battery dying?

Yeah, I've had my Crystal since its release in 2001 and it works just fine. If you leave the cartridge inside the GB unit, the battery shouldn't die because it feeds off the batteries of the GB.

i dont think it can be fixed, so me needs to buy new silver/gold

Same happened to my Gold version a few weeks ago. I got it a few months before the UK release. Looks like Ebay for me...

I've not had it happen to mine yet. Though, I bought Silver on UK release, but sold it when Pokemon started to be shunned out.

Recently rebought a brand new, factory sealed one from eBay so I hope there's a lot of life in it yet.

They're cheap as chips on eBay or in any game shop (2nd hand) so it's not too much of a bother to re-buy the game.

That's why i purchased more Gameboy Printer paper, to print off my favourite and strongest pokemon. They are currently in my Silver version. Have to print them before the game dies!

And do GBA games do this when their batterys die..?

My Sapphire's internal battery died and so now clock based events won't work. It hasn't happened to my Crystal yet and I hope it doesn't for a while or I'll be worried.

My Silver did that a year ago...it dosen't work anymore either.You'll just have to buy a new game,or get it fixed.
