Something just occurred to me.

Something just occurred to me. Ash still has his Kanto Gym Badges, right? What I'm getting at is, would it be possible for him to re-enter the Indigo League after he finishes beating the Frontier Brains?

I don't have any illusions that this scenario is likely, but I'm just wondering if the same Gym Badges can be re-used to enter a League multiple times.

It's not really likely...but I guess it's possible..*gasp* what if they end the show with him winning the kanto league o-o...

CyberCubed

Yeah, ok!
I'm sure trainers can use the same 8 badges from a region to re-enter a league. It's not like he has to go re-challenge the Gyms over again, he has the same badges already

He probably keeps all his old badges in his house somewhere. He has 28 badges in total, probably sitting in a drawer in his bedroom somewhere.

I wish the writers would have Ash show off all his old badges one day, possibly to May and Max, just to show off all his old accomplishments.

I can't look at your signature anymore, Cyber.

Uh, let's see... Could Ash re-enter without getting badges all over again? Probably. Will it ever happen? Probably... not.

I would completely assume that Ash could enter the indigo league again, I doubt his badges have an expiration date. The only thing is I don't see the writes revisiting this, though personally I would love to see him enter it again and perhaps win. Maybe they could do that for the end of Pokemon, having Ash win the league that was his first...

o_O;; My...God. Cybercubed, what episode is that animated GIF from? *passes out*

heck personally i hope the writers do have an impromptu indigo league after the frontier so that they could make up for gyping Ash in the Hoenn League, and i would rather that as the season closer than some stupid six on six OI league ripoff battle at the pyramid.

edit: Raevell i believe it is the Zangoose vs Seviper episode.

Why not? I, as well as many others, did (i.e. red version then Fire Red). Things change, leaders move on... his old badges have got to have a use-by date on them of some kind.

Look, more material to add to my folder that I can use to scare people...>_>

Anyways, I would think Ash could re-enter the indigo league again. However, I don't it'll happen, but that wouldn't be suprising.

I haven't played Fire Red, but the story starts over in that game, doesn't it? So of course you have to earn the badges again. They wouldn't make a game where you already have all eight.

As for Ash, he might have to challenge Agatha, since she took over the role of gym leader from Giovanni and he never actually defeated her, but I don't see a reason why he would have to defeat the others again.

Unless, of course, the officials at the league only let you participate once per eight badges. I mean, if you collect eight, participate in the league, and then try to enter again with the same badges, I can see them turning you down. They might say "Sorry, you have to earn them all again before you can compete again.", which has a certain logic to it, I guess.

Your sig is still 100 times scarier than his. -_-;;

Thanks for the info Almighty Zard. I shall go look it up.

Still, the badges are just to show you have the skill level to compete in the league. I can't see them making Ash get eight more badges. Really though, this is an interesting topic because none of us know for sure.

Heck, I wonder if the writers have even thought about it...

LOL!!! Your sig actually made me laugh. Wow, that was hillarious. Anyways, back on topic, I always thought that Ash had to hand in his badges in order to compete in the league until I registered here. So yeah, he could re-enter the Indigo League.

that's what i thought too. didn't he have to hand in his badges for the orange league? I don't think they'll let you keep the badges after you enter the league.

if ash still had his badges wouldn't we've seen them again by now?

They show the league officials scan Ash's badges, they NEVER take them from him.

He definetly wont have to collect the badges again, why because i said so.

I wouldn't mind ash re-entering the indigo league. He could even win it, and it would be good to see him win the league that represents his home town region. It would give a chance for his other pokemon to get some battle time as well, since im almost certain the cyndaquil, totodile, bayleef and some others wont get battle time in the kanto BF.

I think there was a discussion about this a long time ago, too, but it's always good to see a revival of an interesting topic.

What I had come to assume is that for Trainers who wish to re-challenge a League already competed in, they'd have to go to the Pokemon League branch of that region and see if there are any Gym Leaders they'd need to re-challenge. Agatha is a perfect example, since Viridian Gym has a not-so-good past (as well as Gym Leader).

The officials would contact all eight Gym Leaders and each would examine their first encounter with Ash (since all battle records could easily be kept on a computer database, as seen in the Heracross VS Scizor episode). I'd think he'd need to take on two or three Gym Leaders but then would have access to the Indigo League again.

Basically, a combination of JazzJazz and Raevell's ideas with some tweaking.

I want ash to enter the indigo league again and i think he could without having to get the 8 badges again.
A question though for some people who may know this, I dont know maybe im wrong but i could've sworn a while back i heard that bruno who is now an elite 4 member won the indigo league 3 times in his era or something? I dont even remember where i heard it from but if this is wrong plz can someone correct me on it? waiting to hear from someone.

LMAO. I can never understand why people are so insistent on Ash rebattling the gym leaders again(they ran thier course long ago.), because rechallenging a gym for an official gym battle kinda defeats the who purpose of winning a badge in the first place, if it was a training style battle like Wattson's episodes then it wouldn't be that big of a deal.

What's the point in Ash challenging Agatha? Considering he hardly earned the Earth badge the first time, I doubt he'd be able to defeat a member of the Elite Four...

Would there be any point in Ash challenging the Indego league again since he already lost in it( well he got the top 16, but you know what I mean). The whole point of Ashs journey is to meet new trainers and have new challenges. Wouldn't really happen if he went to Indego again.

I never said I wanted him to do such. The original poster raised a subject about how it would work IF Ash (or whoever for that matter) wanted to.

Besides, what's wrong with that idea? Not to say it's going to happen, but still. There are a number of Gyms I think should be revisited.
