I was walking around an unknown area, yet I was peaceful, as if the area around me was safe to walk alone. There was a lot of mist around me, almost suffocating, but if felt refreshing on my fur, although it did make me feel a bit lethargic with the moisture clinging to my fur. A voice caught my attention, causing me to look at the source. What surprised me was a small absol running up to me with a grin on its face. The small absol skidded to a stop a few feet from me and sat down on his haunches before looking up at me with that grin on his face. He was panting slightly as he continued to grin at me before saying, “Thanks for waiting for me again ma.”

The sound of laughter pierced my weird dream and I looked up blearily for the source of the laughter. For once, I was glad that I was interrupted from my dream. I felt something in me panic at the word ma, but already the dream was fading. I sighed as my eyes finally came into focus and I saw that it was vulpix who was sitting upright, looking in the direction where Miranda and that other person were speaking. I noticed that there were some black spots near the vulpix and shook my head. What pokemon or person would practice their fire attacks without having a backup plan to remove the fire if it got out of control. I yawned and stretched my whole body, feeling a bone pop here and there. It felt good to stretch and finally wake up so I definitely was in a better mood. Still, something from my dream bothered me but I couldn’t figure out what it was that bothered me. Maybe it was the fact that I was embracing the pokemon side too much and losing myself. But for me, that would be an improvement for me. I wasn’t really satisfied with my human life as I had felt like I wasn’t doing much with myself, although I did vaguely remember working as a daycare worker and was happy raising pokemon for others.

I let out one more yawn before walking over to where the vulpix and the mudkip was standing under. Before I had even started walking, the mudkip ran off and I shrugged it off and continued walking towards the vulpix. When I reached her, I asked, “What was so funny that had you laughing about? I could hear you from where I was taking a nice nap.” I smiled gently to take some of the harshness from my accusations as I’m pretty sure it came across as someone irritated that their nap was ruined.

Houdini, Louis' Pokemon

(OoC: Billy Mays was okay with me doing this as well. Even though trainer Pokemon are NPC, I thought I should have noted that.)

Taking the slumbering Purrloin from the seat, Houdini quickly teleported to the Pokemon Center nearby. He floated in and put the Pokemon on the reception counter. He looked at a Nurse Joy who was completely surprised by the entire situation. Houdini handed the Purrloin to the Nurse Joy and told her that it needed to be healed. The young woman blinked and took the Purrloin, and walked off into the room where Pokemon were healed.

Bone, Shiny Purrloin

The darkness faded after a while, the darkness that I was seeing so much these days. The darkness of dreamless sleep. I saw a Chansey looking at me with a concerned look on her face. I merely scowled before curling up into a tight ball. "You know, you're pretty lucky. You only seem to have a minor concussion. Getting kicked in the face by a Ponyta and only getting away with that is pretty amazing," she said happily.

"Yeah, yeah whatever," I scowled. "Just take me back to whoever brought me here so I can leave this place." The Chansey looked surprised at my sudden hostility, but shrugged and picked me up like a baby. I decided not to do anything so that I could just get back to the Adoption Center without harm. She brought me back and I saw a Kadabra, most likely the trainer who I tried to fool's Pokemon.

"Have a nice day!" the Chansey called out as we walked out of the door in silence.

The Kadabra simply stared at me as we walked to the Adoption Center. Personally, I had no idea where we were going for the Kadabra was leading. Finally, he asked, "Why'd Applejack kick you in the face?"

"I tried to hurt a defenceless Pokemon," I growled back. "They were spurting nonsence about being a human before all of this."

We walked the rest of the way in silence.

Kyler picked up her ears as Kate's voice seem to ride on the wind itself. Was she laughing? Kyler smiled as Kate asked her to practice moves with her, but before Kyler could say anything in agreement, Kate crashed head long into a tree.
"Ooh," Kyler picked up a paw to cover her face. "Kate, Kate are you ok?" Kyler limped towards the fallen Mudkip who had knocked herself out cold.
"Kate...?" Kyler was about to reach her when Miranda came out in a frantic disposition. She should be able to take care of Kate better than Kyler could anyway. Kyler was then shooed away by Miranda who cradled the fallen pokemon in her arms while trying to see what the problem was.
"Well, she should be ok." Kyler tried to convince herself and bring some more of the former spirited mood back.

It was then that she looked out and saw the large, snow-white furred Absol padding towards her. At first she took a wobbly step back on her injured leg and almost fell down, but Kyler quickly regained her balance.
Wow, an Absol, Kyler thought, I think I remember seeing her earlier when we were being let out.
“What was so funny that had you laughing about?" The Absol said as she came within reach of her. "I could hear you from where I was taking a nice nap.”
At first, Kyler almost lowered her ears in sheer nervous behavior, but then she saw that the Absol was smiling gently, hinting that she may've been joking around. Kyler couldn't help but sigh in relief.

"My bad," she said with a short laugh. As for why she was laughing...she couldn't tell her about her human past, could she? "I, uh, it's a long story." she smiled sweetly. "A little part of it is now I'm getting the hang of using some of my moves, which are a bit," she coughed into a paw, "Less than impressive right now, heh." She lowered her tails before raising them up again. "But yeah, it's a long story, and you probably wouldn't believe me if I told you anyway, since I myself can't believe it."
Kyler looked the Absol over again before speaking again.
"My name's Kyler, by the way, it's very nice to meet you." she said in a cool calm voice.

I kept my gentle smile as she listened to the vulpix who introduced herself as Kyler. I had to keep myself from smirking as she didn’t feel comfortable telling her little secret as being a human. I didn’t feel like lying completely about myself so I settled for a half-truth. “Well, it’s nice to meet you Kyler. My name is Sepra. An easy way to get better at your moves is confidence. Unless you have a special condition or something that prevents you from using the move, a little confidence helps with mastering those moves.”

As much as I didn’t want to admit it, I was guessing all over the place and my little advice could be in fact all wrong. It did give me something to work on later when everyone else wasn’t looking. I didn’t want to look ridiculous, not being able to perform the most basic attacks. However, I think that with how Kyler talked, she and I probably wouldn’t get along well as she seemed nervous around me. I looked around and saw Miranda fussing over the mudkip and shook my head. I decided to make a light comment about the mudkip and said, “Well, it seems like mudkip there learned take down.” I smirked slightly as I watched Miranda continue to fuss over mudkip, probably scolding it for doing harm to itself. I don’t take enjoyment in other people’s pain, but with how mudkip injured itself, it was worth snickering about it.

"Confidence, huh?" Kyler commented while the very cool and collected Absol known as Sepra tried to critique her moves. Kyler was focused on how she could exude more of this confidence when Sepra noted that Kate had mastered the art of take down.
It was probably not the place for it and certianly not the way to treat a friend, but Kyler couldn't help but give a suppressed laugh.
"Her name's Kate." Kyler sighed. "I feel bad because I think she was just starting to get confortable with her moveset, but I can't believe it wasn't me that did that." She looked back to Sepra. "Not too comfortable with this body or anything. I'm guess I'm going through an identity crisis."
Kyler didn't see why she was hiding what she formerly was, it was her true self. She figured it didn't really matter anyway.
"Well, as long as I'm telling you this, I might well say that I used to be human." She didn't wait for a reaction. "I know it may seem stupid, seeing as just about everyone knows from the Purrloin's outburst about it, but, I don't know, I guess I just didn't want the same thing happening to me, but it doesn't matter." She looked back to Kate.
"Kate, that Mudkip, used to be human too, but you probably knew that already." Kyler said with a slight smile.

I saw at a chair and filled out some paperwork as Miranda went out to help the Mudkip, who had charged into a tree. Now I REALLY need to know what's going on with that Mudkip. Rarity went outside to get some fresh air, while Applejack sat by my side. As I was writing, I asked, "Did that Purrloin really deserve to get kicked like that?" Applejack nodded. I thought for a moment, then asked, "Did you enjoy doing that?" Applejack gave what looked like a smile and nodded again. I chuckled a little and said, "That's my Applejack." She's always been a bit rough around the edges, but she's a good Pokemon. As I finished writing my signature, the male assisstant came in. "Hey, are you done?" He asked. "Yes, I just finished. So, I assume I should go capture them now? No need to give me any spare Pokeballs," I said as I pointed to my belt, which held several Luxury Balls on it. "I already have my own." I got up and gave the papers to the assisstant, then me and Applejack made our way out to the yard. I looked around for a moment. The Mudkip was still being held by Miranda, the Vulpix was talking to an Absol, and the Joltik was climbing down a tree. "Guess I'll go for you first." I said as I walked towards the Joltik. At this point seeing the Joltik reminded me of the Purrloin. I wonder where Houdini was right now? Anyway, I walk up to the Joltik and say, "Alright, I've made my choice. Don't worry about the a nickname, you can tell me what you want to be called yourself when Houdini comes back. Just need to catch you for a second then I'll let you out, I don't like keeping my Pokemon in their balls for long."

The little tidbit news of them being human didn’t surprise me since I had overheard them talk about it before I fell asleep. I smiled a bit as she talked and said, “I believe you Kyler, about once being a human. I am too once a human, but I don’t let that bother me. For once, I am glad that this has happened to me. I wasn’t really happy in my old human self, but as I am now, I feel like I’ve been given a new life.”

I became a little thoughtful as I stopped talking. Thinking about my human life dampened my mood a bit and I didn’t want to stay on it long. I spoke again, not directly looking at Kyler, “This might be a good idea for you, but I recommend not telling anyone that you were once human. Most pokemon will probably take it wrongly so it’s just easier to not tell them what you really are.”

I didn’t really know what to talk around girls, but I felt that I should let them lead the conversations and then answer them. I did become slightly nervous as it seemed like Kyler was becoming comfortable around me. I’m pretty sure that girls did not make such easy conversations with guys this early on, but I could be wrong since I practically shut myself from humans. I observed Miranda putting Kate back down on the ground and with a final warning and a shake of her finger, left Kate and went back inside. Kate was now sporting a little bandage on her head where she had hit the tree and I snickered and said, “Ohhh… A target for me to aim at. X marks the spot.”

Jerry Litsner
Trainer

Jerry stepped out of his car and saw the words Pokemon Adoption Agency on the sign over the front entrance. Pushing open the front door, Jerry was greeted by the sounds of multiple active Pokemon as Umbreon followed him in; it wasn't anything new for Jerry, but they gave him nostalgia of the travels he'd done years ago. Now, he was getting older and had half the energy he did ten years ago. Intent on continuing to be a trainer and raise Pokemon, he'd come here.

"Can I help you sir?" a clerk asked, raising an eyebrow at Jerry, "Hey, I know you: You were named one of the best senior officers in the navy a few months ago. I read it in the paper,"

Jerry looked up at the man and stared at him with little emotion. "Was I?" Jerry asked, "I didn't think they'd remember me after all this time...Anyways, I'm here to adopt-"

"Of course they did!" the clerk said with excitement, "The newspapers say that you saved 217th Defense Fleet they were ambushed by pirate Destroyers, and they say you almost did it single handed...and tomorrow is the anniversary of that day! I'm honored to salute you for your courage Major!"

Jerry and Umbreon stared at the man for another long moment before Jerry finally replied. "I'm no war hero sir, let's leave it at that," Jerry answered, unfazed by the man's compliment, "If you don't mind sir, I'd like to do what I came here for,"

"Of course! Of course! I didn't mean to interrupt you," the clerk apologized, "Right this way: the owner, Miranda is in the yard busy with another trainer,"

The clerk guided Jerry and Umbreon through the maze of cages to a door in the back. You know you can't hide your history forever, Umbreon muttered to Jerry.

I'm well aware; its the praise that I'm getting and my friends aren't that keeps me awake at night, Jerry said back in his mind, ...Just try not to attack the owner or the other Pokemon. I'd prefer not to have adopting a Pokemon a struggle.

Outside, the Pokemon were running around wildly as the three entered the yard. In the corner, a woman was running for a Mudkip that had, apparently, ran into a tree and injured itself. In that same tree, Jerry spotted a Joltik staring at a coordinator trying to get him to come down. Umbreon ran off towards the tree and left Jerry and the clerk standing there alone. "...I think I'll spend some time out here before I make a decision," Jerry said to the clerk, "Thanks for the escort,"

"Anytime Major," the clerk replied, shaking hands, "I'd be careful though. Some of the Pokemon have been acting a little wild lately,"

Jerry continued to watch the Mudkip and Umbreon as the clerk walked back into the building. Hopefully, he wasn't picking fights again.

_______________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Umbreon stared at the Mudkip that had injured itself when it ran away. Trying to communicate with him, or her, Umbreon focused and edged his way into the Mudkip's mind, sensing it was nervous. Are you stupid, or just shy? he asked in his best attempt at a soothing voice, Haven't you seen Humans before?

Kyler watched as Miranda patched Kate up before looking back to Sepra.

“I believe you Kyler, about once being a human. I am too once a human, but I don’t let that bother me. For once, I am glad that this has happened to me. I wasn’t really happy in my old human self, but as I am now, I feel like I’ve been given a new life.” Sepra finished and he looked not at her exactly, but almost past her. She didn't know why, but again she felt the understanding of someone else, whether male or female, she didn't care, she was just glad that someone was willing to help her get acquainted with her new self.

There was a short pause before he spoke again.
“This might be a good idea for you, but I recommend not telling anyone that you were once human. Most pokemon will probably take it wrongly so it’s just easier to not tell them what you really are.”

Kyler was opened her mouth to question Sepra's words, but the more the she thought about it, the more it made sense. Sepra was right.
"Yeah, I guess you're right, Sepra." Kyler smiled and shook her head at his next comment about how 'X marks the spot' and how it was on Kate's forehead.

"Sepra," Kyler said and broke the silence again. "What are you going to do now?" She shook her head and then spoke again to break the ambiguity of the question. "What I mean is, are you going to run away and just live out in the wild or are you going to try and find a trainer and go down that path."
Kyler felt like she was in a movie asking the hero what he would do next, it felt so cliched, but it was the honest truth, she just wanted to know, that's all.

Before Sepra said anything back, Kyler looked back to the tree where apparently the Joltik had climbed up. That coordinator guy seemed to be talking to her. She was probably his choice for adoption. Kyler sighed and felt something strange tugging at her, was it fear, relief, envy? She shrugged her shoulders.
She looked to another tree in the yard.
"Do you want to walk over to that tree while you talk or do you not want to?" Kyler asked.

*Joule the Voltik*

Joule continued to make her way down the tree… very slowly. She paused and glanced up. Kyler and the Mudkip were still talking, though Mudkip ran off for some reason, and smack into a tree. Miranda came running out in a panic to aid her. Then the Absol made it’s way over to Kyler. Hun…

Joule wanted to know what happened, but she needed to concentrate on getting down. A funny sort of vibration ran up the tree. Joule looked up, there was a human approaching the tree. It was that coordinator that had been relying on his pokemon’s to check out the adoptees. He spoke to her, "Alright, I've made my choice. Don't worry about the a nickname, you can tell me what you want to be called yourself when Houdini comes back. Just need to catch you for a second then I'll let you out, I don't like keeping my Pokemon in their balls for long."

Joule’s tiny heart skipped. He was adopting her? That’s great! No wait, what if he wouldn’t take her to Sliph Co? What if he was neglectful or mean?

Joule leapt from the tree. She threw out her front feet hoping to touch down on his shoulder and leap behind him, scurrying away before he could turn and catch her.

After I talked to her, the small Joltik leaped away onto my shoulder, like then was getting ready to jump like she was trying to escape. I should've seen this coming really. I mean, why would a Pokemon that ended up in an Adoption Agency NOT be afraid of humans? "If you're worried about me, you shouldn't. You don't get as good of a coordinator as I am without being nice to Pokemon. Like a trainer, the key to being a successful coordinator is being able to form a close bond with your Pokemon." I've dealt with a lot of Pokemon, and I've put up with a lot of attitudes. I've seen enough fights between Rarity and Applejack to last a lifetime, and if I can handle those, I can handle a small, scared Joltik. I don't move, so I don't scare the Joltik.

"I'm sorry if I came on too sudden. I know getting a new owner, assuming you had a previous one, is a big deal. But you can trust me that I won't hurt you or abuse you. I promise. Besides, you're aren't alone here. There's the Pokemon I already have, and I plan on adopting the Vulpix and Mudkip over there too. Please, trust me." I put the pick up the Joltik softly and put her on the ground, then look directly into her small eyes and say, "So what do you say?"

(OOC: I assume putting you down on the ground is ok, but if it isn't, let me know.)

What was I going to do…? A question I hadn’t given much thought to as I was simply looking for a decent trainer to spend my life with. Of course it meant that I’d probably see a few things I would never want to see, but it was a small price to pay to feel alive. It beats wandering in the wild as it was most often survival of the strongest. A life I didn’t want to be in. I may be an absol, but I lacked the natural instincts that absols would have and I’m pretty sure all the other pokemon that were once humans lacked that natural instinct. It meant that I would have to find a way to focus on that instinct so that some things would come more naturally to me, specifically moves and when I learned new ones. I drew myself out of my thoughts and responded to Kyler.

“I will not be running away into the wild. If I was a true blooded absol, I might have entertained that notion, but since I’m lacking the natural instincts, it will be a lot safer for me to go with a trainer. Although this is a guess, I think that in the wild, it’s a survival of the strongest. If you’re weak, you’re left at the mercy of predators and trainers.” I paused as I saw an umbreon near mudkip. I sighed in annoyance. Perhaps it was something from my human self, but seeing eevee evolutions somehow made me annoyed. Perhaps it was from raising so many. I didn’t remember clearly so I didn’t know what made me annoyed at seeing an eevee evolution. I gestured back at the tree with my head and said, “I guess we can talk some more in the shade, the heat is a bit too much for me still. I guess staying in the building left me a bit sensitive to the heat.”

I turned and started walking towards the tree I had snoozed under, wanting to get away from the umbreon for some reason. I was lying about the heat as I felt fine, but I needed an excuse because I knew that the umbreon had caught a bit of my conversation about my instincts. I waited under the tree, just now noticing how Kyler favored one of her paws. Perhaps she had injured it or sprained it, but I didn’t see any bandages so I couldn’t tell if it was from an injury or a special condition.

Kate the Mudkip

As Kate came around, she found heself in Miranda's lap with a plaster stuck to her forehead, just below her fin. It took her a few seconds to remember what had happened before, then recalled tackling into the tree. She had been stupid. So stupid. She glanced into the reflection of one of the glass aquariums, the one that had been housing her, and noted that the plaster was big, pink and had a print of Chansey on it. Great, now she looked like a wimp. She saw her head fin, flopping to the right side, and reached to straighten it. Miranda gave a sudden jolt, startled by Kate's movement. "How do you feel, Mudkip?" She asked in her gentle voice. Kate let out a small groan, while Miranda straightened her fin. Kate wondered where Kyler was, and turned her head slowly to look out of the window. There was an Absol in the shade of the same tree she had run into, and Kyler was limping up to it. How many friends did Kyler have here? She had mentioned a Joltik earlier, when Kate had been talking to her, and now she was with an Absol.

She looked out of the window from a different angle, and glimpsed the coordinator with a Joltik on his shoulder. It must've been the one Kyler was mentioned, and she remembered that Kyler had said it was a female. The Joltik looked uncomfortable, with sparks of static emerging from her tiny body. The coordinator held a kind of pokemon ball, and was maybe trying to adopt the Joltik. It was only a guess, but it looked true enough. Miranda gently stroked her back, and Kate looked up at her for and for a brief second, Miranda looked into her eyes, but turned away to watch the coordinator, trying to soothe the Joltik into the pokeball. Kate wondered if the coordinator had chosen her, but then Kate had decided that she would only leave if she was with Kyler. The Kadabra looked ok, and so did the Roserade he had seen stolen glimpses of, and the Ponyta did look mean, so Kate would avoid it if she was adopted by the coordinator. The Joltik looked nice, but Kate would only feel comfortable with Kyler. Miranda's methodic stroking started taking a hold of her, but she refused to rest- she wanted to see what the coordinator's next move was.

Mewtwo is awesome!
OOC: Wow, I'm really starting to lose it and summer's not even here yet. I'll fix the error in my last post.

Jerry Litsner
Trainer

The Mudkip that had injured itself was taken inside and was being taken care of by the owner. From what Jerry had heard, it sounded like her name was Miranda, and the coordinator's name was Montaya...at least part of his name was. The coordinator had caught the Joltik that leaped from the tree onto his shoulder, and set her down on the ground while giving some kind words. Either the Joltik was nervous and trying to get away, or was really excited to be adopted. Jerry wasn't sure, but he was positive that many of these Pokemon had either been found injured, been neglected, abused, or experienced a serious trauma, and were bound to either be nervous of Humans or Pokemon. He could see that many of them had had a bad encounter with humans; he'd seen some of their faces and reactions. Umbreon acted similarly to other Humans, and Jerry when he found him abandoned. He didn't blame them: If Jerry had been beaten, attacked, or left to drown by someone he'd dared to trust, he'd hold the same fear.

Jerru slipped on his Navy jacket and began to walk towards the coordinator Montoya. If he was going to keep being a trainer, Jerry might as well make friends outside of his crewmates he'd met 15 years ago. "So you're a...coordinator, was it?" Jerry asked, putting his hand out in greeting, "Nice to meet a trainer that I'm not about to battle,"

Jerry looked behind the coordinator at the tree the Mudkip had ran and hit. Sitting under it was an Absol, looking like it was trying to remain hidden, and a Vulpix sitting in the grass near by. Jerry raised his other hand and gave a friendly wave to the two Pokemon to try to ease their anxiety. "I'm Jerry. Jerry Litsner, and before you ask, yes, I used to be a Major in the Navy a while back," Jerry continued, trying to be friendly with him, "Don't worry, I'm no judgemental, cranky old man who's here to make fun of young people...So what's your story?"

___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Umbreon turned his head as he watched the Joltik leap from the tree and onto the coordinator's shoulder. If the Joltik was afraid of Humans, he wouldn't be surprised. How else would she have ended up in adoption and be trying to avoid the man who was trying to calm her down. So, did a Human leave you to drown too? Umbreon asked the sparking Joltik, I wouldn't blame you for being nervous around Humans: If my trainer was anyone different, I would'vee have run off into the wild years ago...

Joule made it to the man’s shoulder, but hesitated, the ground was awful far away. As she tried to get herself to jump anyways the coordinator started talking to her, "If you're worried about me, you shouldn't. You don't get as good of a coordinator as I am without being nice to Pokemon. Like a trainer, the key to being a successful coordinator is being able to form a close bond with your Pokemon. Gently he grabbed Joule and set her on the ground. Keeping his eyes on her’s he asked, "So what do you say?"

Joule looked down. Yeah, she probably was being silly, but it’s so easy to panic when you don’t know what’s going to happen next. He was adopting Kyler and the Mudkip too? Then, she’d at least have a friend. Two friends even, she wondered looking up at the Ponyta. Applejack reassured her, “Hey partner, it’s alright.”

“Okay,” mumbled Joule looking up at him, “I know you can’t understand me, but I’m going to have to trust someone if I want to get out of here, and you don’t really seem like a bad guy…”

A strange voice filled her head, it was like the psychic type that had contacted her before, but different, somehow, So, did a Human leave you to drown too? I wouldn't blame you for being nervous around Humans. If my trainer was anyone different, I would’ve have run off into the wild years ago...

Joule glanced around. She couldn’t tell who was talking to her. She remembered the other psychic pokemon telling her to think the answer clearly, so she assumed that would work, I just got scared. I don’t know, he seems nice enough, but… I… I’m okay now.

The Joltik looks down for a moment as if she was thinking it over, then looked up and made a noise like she was telling me it was alright. I have to say, the smaller a Pokemon is, the harder it is to tell what they are saying through their stance and expression. Applejack looks like she's trying to help encourage her too, which I of course really appriciated.

Just then, an old man in a navy uniform approches me. I feel like I've seen him before, despite not recognizing him...maybe he was in the paper? "So you're a...coordinator, was it?" the man asked, putting his hand out in greeting, "Nice to meet a trainer that I'm not about to battle." He then looks over to the Absol and Vulpix and waves, then adds, "I'm Jerry. Jerry Litsner, and before you ask, yes, I used to be a Major in the Navy a while back. I have to say, this trip was long overdue, although I love my current Pokemon, like they say, the more the merrier, right? Excuse me for a moment..."

I turn back the the Joltik, and take out a Luxury Ball. "Hold still, this'll only take a second..." I throw the ball, and the Joltik turns into a red light and disappears inside the ball.

One shake...

Two shakes...

Three shakes...

*DING*

The ball clicks, and I pick it up and immediately press the button on it, releasing the Joltik. "There. That wasn't so bad, was it?" Now to just catch the Vulpix and the Mudkip, and wait for Houdini to return, then I can be on my way. I feel like I've been here for a while, so maybe a nice walk through town would be nice after this, maybe get something to eat.

(OOC: Going to assume this is ok too, but if not, once again, just tell me.)

*Yuuki the Zoura*

I wasn’t sure how long we had been staring at each other, but it had felt like ages.

“You are strange for a Pokémon,” He muttered at last. “You don’t have the natural fear of those dangerous to you that most wild Pokémon have….What makes you different?” The Gallade said with a frown. After a few seconds of being lost in thought, he continued. “Better question, who are you really? I don’t know what it is, but you remind me of a human more than a Pokémon…”

I sighed. Hadn’t I already told him this earlier? I suddenly felt exhausted; this was going to take a while. Breathing deeply, I decided to start at with the basics.

“That’s because I used to be human, not pokemon.” I said slowly. “My name is, or was, Yuuki Thompson. How the heck I ended up this way, I don’t have a clue. All I remember is waking up in that…place, in a cage and discovering that my skin had been replaced by fur. I had no idea where I was, and all I could remember was what I had been doing before that moment—searching for my brother, as a human of course. As for the rest,” I shrugged, “It’s all a blur.”

*Joule the Voltik*

Another trainer had come up to the coordinator and introduced himself. The coordinator shook his hand, identifying himself as “Louis Piere Montoya the Second…”

He quickly excused himself from conversation and turned his attention back to Joule. He held up a shiny deep purple, red, white, and gold sphere. Joule recognized it immediately, it was a high end poke ball, often referred to as a Luxury Ball. She could tell he was at least willing to spend extra money on his pokemon, which pretty much was a good sign.

“Hold still, this'll only take a second..." He instructed, just before throwing the ball. Joule couldn’t help flinching as the ball sped towards her. A crack formed along the edge and it split open. A beam of red energy hit Joule and transforming her, allowed the ball to engulf her.

So this was the inside of a pokeball? What was this feeling? How to describe it? Like floating? It was comfortable, relaxing, but quite far from wrapping yourself in a pile of snuggly blankets with a cup of hot chocolate or tea… Joule was back in the real world before she even realized it.

"There. That wasn't so bad, was it?" suggested Louis.

“No, I guess not,” replied Joule, “I wish we could communicate better. I mean have you ever even imagine what the inside of a pokeball is like?”

Kate the Mudkip

Kate watched as the coordinator threw the pokeball at the Joltik, who stood there, accepting the fact that she was being adopted. Once he had caught the Joltik, he let her out of her pokeball immediately. Kate wanted to be caught by him- he looked decent, most of his pokemon were nice, and there probably wouldn't be another chance to leave with a good oner. But then there was Kyler... Kate looked back out of the window at the Vulpix, who was still hobbling along to the Absol. Well, she thought to herself, maybe he'll adopt Kyler too, or maybe he won't adopt either of them. Kate looked up at Miranda, and shook herself to catch her attention, then stared at the door that lead outside and made a small noise, knowing that if she talked Miranda wouldn't hear her anyway. "Do you want to go back out, sweetie?" Miranda asked in her soothing voice. Kate nodded her head vigorously, almost banging the place her plaster was on the table in front of her. "Well, I don't know," Miranda said "you might hurt yourself again, even though I know that time was by accident." She paused, as if unsure to say the next thing that she was going to say. But she went ahead and said it "Louis has already filled out the paperwork to adopt you" Kate's head fin flicked up in excitement "so we don't want you getting any more injuries" Miranda finished, but Kate was only half listening.

She was going to be adopted by the coordinator-Louis, Miranda had called him. Kate was exited, exited about the new life she'd lead, and the new friends she'd make along the way. Friends. Kyler. What about Kyler? What would happen to her? Was Louis going to adopt her too? "Louis has also signed the paperwork to adopt that Vulpix who you were talking to earlier, as well" Miranda chimed, as if she could read Kate's mind. Kate decided to just sit put in Miranda's lap, and wait for Louis to get to her.

What do I do now?
OCC: Thanks Slipomatic, that makes it alot easier : D

Kyler Mallory
Vulpix

It wasn't long until Sepra had told Kyler everything she had asked about. Turns out she wasn't looking to run out into the wild. She wondered who would adopt Sepra...she seemed like someone who would be confident in her abilities.

Kyler looked over with a raised eyebrow, if she still even had them, at the man near the tree talking to Joltik. What was he up to? Suddenly she was engulfed in a bright light before being sucked into a Luxury ball. Kyler gasped and took another step back. She didn't expect that straight away.

"Well, looks like Joltik is going places." Kyler commented as the bright light reemerged and the Joltik again was out and about. What was it like to be a poke ball? Cramped? That made reasonable sense. Fitting a creature the size of a cat or small dog into something the size of a baseball didn't sound very inviting.
Kyler could feel the quick claw around her neck again. An ironic reminder that she was a bit less than fast at the moment.
"Hey, Sepra," Kyler looked over, "Did you wake up with an item of some kind? I got this Quick Claw thing." She picked it up with one paw before settling it back down around her neck.

OCC: Sorry for the short post; can't type alot right now
